My biggest issue with BO 3 and 4 is that there is the weakest of links to BO 1&2. Like you can’t have a throwaway line mentioning Menendez and call it a sequel or have some tech billionaire with the last name Mason kinda be there and call it 3 and 4. It’s like they were to afraid to make an entirely new series but had the cover of the Black Ops name tag to bring people in based on how much fun the first 2 games were.

The thing is Cod was always about mp, main community don’t even play campaign and bo3 and bo4 mp plays awesome, just like bo1 and bo2, the thing since bo3 they decided to give all accent to mp, all trailers was about it and blackout in bo4, I personally played all modes, main platform is PlayStation so got a couple platinum trophies, but main community always grind master prestiges and 100% completion
one thing i loved about BO4s multiplayer was the stims. no more sittin in a corner waiting for health, u get in a fight, win, click a button, heal, and back into a fight, it was a very rushy mp and i loved it, one of my favorite MPs

I feel like with Vanguard Zombies being Vanguard Zombies it makes BO4 look significantly better than it ever has been. Even tho it had its issues it was still zombies at its core and still had its staples which is something Vanguard definitely can’t say

@@chadgamer6942 ff cards are definitely not pay to win imo. There’s genuinely not any good cards like bo3, the only one that’s a must have is scoped dollars and that’s base kit. I just hopped on there and looked through all the cards and the biggest one is packing heat( get a random weapon at pack a punch 2) but even then you can get that yourself every run if you know how.
& I can see the argument for bo3 but like mainly the only super op ones are perkaholic, reign drops,and shopping free. Plus once you have one, you practically never need another one as long as you don’t fuck up and not close app before the games over

Without watching this I can tell you exactly why it “failed” it’s because they pushed the agenda of battle royal and cut other content that would of made this game even better because of the time they had. Honestly I love the game and the battle royal it has but I feel activision needs to let creators create

You're right about that and I'm with you on this. I refuse to believe after making some of the best titles in the series with each iteration getting better each time that this was what they wanted the game and final product to be like. One can't ignore how popular BR's are and as much as I like them, it definitely has ruined multiplayer.
@@IGotRice You can thank Fortnite for rounding up every kid on the face of the planet and making one horrible game mode that forever ruined gaming. By no means should a BR have taken priority over multiplayer or zombies, those two game modes is what the entire franchise was built off of and couldn't possibly be replaced by one shitty trend that went out in a couple years.

@@archangelgabriel8493 fortnite didn’t invent the BR genre. Fortnite just ripped off PUBG and PUBG was based off of an arma mod.
Also BR eventually revived the franchise. It was dead in the water before Warzone.
How can you say BRs are a trend that’s already dead when the biggest multiple games in 2022 are BR games. Apex, Warzone, Fortnite, even PUBg is still one of the most played games on steam.
BRs aren’t a trend at this point, they are the standard for MP games. Arena shooters are dead.
I loved black ops 4 multiplayer especially the stim shot. Healing your self and moving around added a skill gap that you either got good at or didn’t. I’m a bo3 fan so this game was like a home away from home kinda feeling. Some of the same specialists features but also different maps and movements and guns. Overall wouldn’t put it high ranked but still one of my favorites

That’s what killed it for me the most, the zombie mechanics. Training forever changed after decades + of relying on your movement to allow you to survive. Now the zombies body check you worse than WAW. Overall, good game but not my favorite zombie experience. A lot of people in the comment section here seem to be fans of gaslighting you and others instead of listening to the criticisms. They’d rather say you “just hate new” or “nostalgia” like they are purposely playing dumb or are ignorant.
You are a narcissist and speak as if you are superior, and ironically, “gaslight” anyone who disagrees with you.
My advice? “get good”. It’s fine to be different, yet the same, and hard isn’t bad. I’ve been playing since BO1 and while BO4 was hard it’s fantastic. I remember accidentally buying Black Ops 4 ( PS4 ) for $12 thinking it was Black Ops 3 because I never knew what the box art looked like. It was fun to try it out, but the lack of a fun single player experience ruined it for me. Plus, when I eventually got Black Ops 3 on PC, I couldn’t look back.
Thanks for that, now it makes sense. I hate BLOPS4, couldn’t get over the lack of the campaign, I thought I was just not finding it whilst looking for it.

Okay, as a programmer myself, this makes 0 sense. Either treyarch devs are completely incompetent and cannot make a game without errors, or this is a flat out LIE. Whoever you spoke to at Treyarch either didnt know what they were saying or he/she was told to lie to downplay the issue. Im 99% sure that bluescreens were not caused by "a dev tool which was left in the game by mistake". It was happening because the game was unfinished, untested and a buggy mess.

It seems like I'm the only one that loved both MP and Zombies in BO4. I think the specialists and the one-shot weapons were too much, but I liked pretty much everything else. The two mentioned before could ruin a game, however.
I like what bo4 tried, my issue is that the zombies AI relies too much on saving yourself with the specialist weapon, zombies are way too aggressive, if that makes sense lol, what i mean is when you search for parts you have to constantly run since you cannot get distant enough to have room to breathe.

I also really liked Bo4. Believe it or not, bo4 is my 2nd favorite cod, mainly because I didn't get to experience the prime of the older days and didn't catch MW2 until the end of its cycle

my first week of playing bo4 zombies was literally just me complaining about how i was getting sideswiped by EVERYTHING- it felt like no matter which movements i made i was getting punished for it too which was very demotivating.

It’s crazy how everyone sees stuff different. I think BO4 is incredible and it’s one of my most played CODs and I’ve been playing since 2007. Only time I’ve gotten Dark Matter, master prestige in Multiplayer and Zombies and loved blackout. It’s nostalgic for me. To each there own though!
and on the other end of the spectrum, you got someone like me who has been playing since 2004, who will never play it, because no campaign is a dealbreaker for me, since that is what i play for.

I love this game in spite of its flaws. But boy do I sure hate its flaws. I think I've officially played it as much as I've played Black Ops 2, although I still think I was better at Black Ops 2. There are a lot of features from BO2 that I miss and wish they had added to BO4.
Absolutely LOVED the multiplayer, felt very unique and a ton of weapons were fun to use. For zombies I never really played zombies much during the game’s cycle, however now i have been coming back to grind out easter eggs and for the new weapons. Having a great time.
Heist mode is definitely the best mode in the game. I know hardcore players from Modern warfare 2 who refuse to play the new cods just for Heist mode.

I miss when you’d go on a small quest to build your specialist weapon, and when you wanted more perks you could do something cool to earn more perk slots, I remember how awesome it felt to get Double Tap II from a reward chest in Origins as your 5th perk and then dig up more perks.
But looking up a guide to get such weapons without letting the player intuitively figure it out, that’s just not good game design. Maybe if it was like DE where you look it up once but then you just know how to do it next time.
Zombies was dead before this game because of shit like this. Added to much bullshit. Make it like waw or black ops 1 enough with all this dumb shit
BO4 is so underrated! The Chaos zombies maps were some of the best maps ever made. The problem with BO4 zombies was the perk system and elixir system, But the maps were amazing!
Let's not forget, who wanted way less overpowered gums? Correct, the TH-camrs and the community who copied their opinions! Trasharch should have never listened to all of them at all.
While I do share alot of your criticisms about this game ranging from all aspects of what it had to offer, zombies is something I still had a lot of fun with, despite its MANY shortcomings. It's still really sad they never were able to fully see it through the end though but its very insightful to know what and how things went wrong behind the scenes. Really appreciate this video.

nah for me BO4 zombies was shit. I had fun with AW's zombies but does that mean I consider it good or a "cod zombies"? No. I returned the game after 24 hours regarding BO4, the only "new" COD I play is MW and that's just MP not even the campaign nor Warzone.

Honestly, the first strike against the game was the announcement that there was no campaign
Newton's Cookbook was an end-of-life addition to BO3, added after the end of the initial year of maps. BO4 went balls to the wall Microtransactions and so Elixirs had to be pushed hard with no alternative, and the Game Closing exploit to save Gobblegums was well known so they made sure to punish everyone instead.

@@Jjgardner0214 they started with shitting on it though, nobody liked black ops 4 because they took out the ability to buy maps piece for piece forcing us to get a season pass.
There was the chaos storyline getting some hate but people would have given it a chance if we weren’t forced to get it in the season pass.
Not to mention the lack of certain perks and how they tried to remedy the situation.
The thing that made me give up on BO4 zombies was the fact it was no longer possible to load into a map and just work things out and have fun with it. You need tutorials, TH-cam videos basically full FAQ pages to work out what the hell is actually going on and how to do stuff. I feel like BO2 struck a great balance between working stuff out and complexity especially on origins and MOD
when you talked about the perks ascension came to mind. with good positioning and teamwork you can abuse the monkeys to get the perkks you dont have for protecting the perks you do have. and it works as risk/reward cause the more perks you have the harder it is to spread out and cover them all.
I love BO4 zombies for the most part. Don’t have too many problems with it aside from a few obvious flaws
The only thing i really didnt like was the change to the point system. But after all these years i finally got over it. I hope it returns in the next zombies game though
I enjoyed Bo4’s multiplayer a lot more than Bo3’s. I found myself always having fun and getting hyped while playing multiplayer, and the OG maps from Bo1 that were remastered were a real fun way to feel nostalgia while still having a lot of fun. Zombies was honestly in my top 5 best zombies in my book, the uniqueness of this zombies made it so interesting to me, the complexity of some of the maps too was definitely a new fresh feeling with zombies since most of the maps I’ve played are relatively simple yet fun maps, Bo4 zombies IX is in my top 3 favorites just because of its theme, complexity, and most of all uniqueness, that’s all I gotta need for a map to be exciting to me

black ops 4 was the 4th call of duty I ever played, which I think is why it amazes me so much.
I think people set the bar to high on CoD now because of how good the old games were.
But from a new player, the games are still wonderful and lovely to play.
Black ops 4 is one of my favorite call of duty games.
The movement was fun, the maps were interesting and bright, and the zombies was simple and fun.
The blackout mode was fantastic and multiplayer is great.
When BO4 was announced, BO3 was already 2 years old. Revelations had a bizarre ending that left us with more questions than answers. What the hell is going on? Why was Primis sent back in time? What is Richtofen's plan?
And then we got 2 years straight of non-Treyarch zombies, first in IW then WWII. These zombies spinoffs were fine and the stories and characters were at the very least decent, but we knew that just like Extinction and Exo Zombies we weren't likely to ever see them again. But what we were all really waiting for was answers and a conclusion to the Treyarch zombies story we all knew and loved.
You could feel the disappointment in the room when the Chaos story was introduced, yet another completely separate story with yet another new cast of characters, compared to the roar of the crowd when Blood of the Dead was shown.
ive recently started playing bo3 zombies again and relearning all the easter egg steps and little things that make the game easier have been such an easier experience, that listening and watching this video explaining the steps in bo4 maps gave me an actual headache trying to keep up. i need to defuse with some origins
What bro origins is more complicated than blood of the dead unless you want the hells redeemer and maybe the upgraded shield botd is simple as Alcatraz pocket dimension purgatory German trapping machine hell

And upgrading it wasn’t calculus either dawg, and the map had a flow as well, you didn’t usually run around from spot back to the other to go back to that same original spot like bo4, you’d go all around the map then look back or stay in one spot. Even digging up the ice staff had you going to different parts of the map, same for the wind staff, you had to go into all 3 robots, and pack a punch wasn’t a Easter egg in itself either which imo was one of the worst mistakes they ever made. Why would that b so hard to obtain when pack a punch weapons don’t make or break the game? Anyways, origins is easily one of the Simpler new gen zombies maps, as it should b since it was one of the first of its kind, and that’s recognizable but for some reason feels so much better than all the extra shit you have to do in bo3 and 4.
I never played Bo3 but got really into Bo4 Zombies. Fully acknowledging the ups and downs of this game since there was a lot of frustrations at the time, to me looking back the only thing that keeps me from playing those maps casually is how many parts and things you need to do. If they had an Easy mode for the Easter Egg and didn't require me to spend 50 minutes crafting my kit I would probably still play daily, I really liked everything else with it.

You've been into BO4 zombies ??? You'll love BO3 ten times more, as it has 14 maps (full dlc) and has tons of custom fan made maps which will blow your mind(which bo4 doesn't have)

the last semblance of cooperative play was back in black ops 1 , once someone on the team got a VSAT , everyone managed to get their streaks !
I regularly played with a group of my friends' work buddies and I had never met them in real life, just introduced over PSN. Blackout was beyond fun. It wasn't a perfect CoD but still one of the best experiences I've ever had in regards to gaming with friends.
I always say this but the main reason Bo4 killed my dedication for zombies was just how complicated things were you mentioned how many spots dead of the night has for stuff and look I will always be a zombies fan but doing any solo easter egg was just bs I did them all and it's impossible to do some of these on my own without a guide I never had this problem in Bo1 to (most) Bo3 it's just not fun having to spend 30 minutes doing what would probably be a easter egg in previous games just to get pack a punch
All in all I have not any of the games since Bo4 and I do somewhat hope they do something to bring me back
Try Cold War zombies. They emphasized simplicity and gameplay over all the frustrating fetch quests. I’ve managed to do all Easter eggs. It’s the first time I’ve been able to do any, really.

Personally I like the complexity of it, I just dont like a ton of the steps themselves, lots of them are just annoying and tedious. Like having to hold interact on the kronorium run all the way down the tunnel, blast, run all the way to wherever the orb is and blast. Every. Round. Do you prefer simplicity?
@@kodybauer9375 @Kody Bauer im ok with complex stuff but when it's waiting 2-3 rounds, morse code, more than 3 locations for the needed item stuff like you mentioned that I just find them more annoying than challenging and since I usually play solo steps that take more than a few seconds that isn't just wait and defend are far harder to do
@@buttermanaws4693 I get that, I think I prefer steps such as in Gorod Krovi, all the steps can be done with a team but the MK3s make up for being solo and for most of them make them super easy but then theres the bomb step which gets easier the less players there are time wise and the Mangler step which is annoying but it balances out how easy the other steps are with the MK3 if that makes sense
I actually enjoyed bo4 zombies it was fun and difficult but still had a lot of fun. Despite changed mechanics and builds that were brought I still enjoyed it. It does have one of my favorite maps of all time which is 9 or IX. Plus it made high round attempts so easy since the speacialist weapons are both op on both storylines. My only problem I had was t for the aether storyline. The maps were just remakes with a few changes and I really wished we got to fight in the Great War. Overall this zombies mode is one of my favorites just because of the difficulty
BO4 multiplayer was so addicting. I remember getting to prestige 8 in about 2 weeks before I shipped out to navy boot camp lol. Don’t regret it one bit
as someone with 1400 hours on ps4 Bo4, this was my highschool COD, only time i’ve gotten the mastery camo and learned zombies from it. Countless memories of speed running maps and doing easter eggs and hours of multiplayer when lobbies stayed together. Personally it’s a favorite cod for me but i’m glad to it brought me into the world of pre BO4 Zombies. Oh and black out was peak battle royal with friends

Bo4 may have been poorly received by the community but it's not as bad as vanguard. I would much rather play bo4 for the rest of my life than purchase vanguard

My 11-16 year old self was absolutely entranced with the cod zombies story line. Everything just kept building up over the years and I got more and more hype for zombies as each black ops iteration dropped. To this day I think bo3 zombies and bo3 as a whole is one of the best cods ever made and have so so so many memories that I cherish from
This time I miss it so much. By the time bo3 was out I was so obsessed with the story and was sad when bo3 life cycles ended, but I knew there was going to more to come. When bo4 was announced and zombies was going to be back again I was so excited to see the culmination of all previous games to see how the story would be this time around. When blood of the dead was released and people played and did the Easter eggs I still was so happy and excited for the Easter eggs and story to be found, but eventually it all died down for me after the mid point of the bo4 life cycle. There were budget cuts and the zombies story was obviously getting rushed and it was so heartbreaking to me because it was something I had clinged onto from the years of 2010-2019. I was already 19 by the time the dlcs for bo4 were out and was so disappointed when zombies was going downhill and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I still payed attention to the story all the way up to tag der toten and had genuine tears from the ending cutscene, but after that I knew that it was over. It was done. Zombies had passed its crescendo long ago and nothing after it will ever be the same as it did from waw-bo3

Zombies on BO4 was the shit straight good
Its so disappointing to hear what kind of zombies experience we could have had. If they did year 1 aether, wrap it up nicely and properly before creating chaos for year 2 the game could have been amazing. I also never knew that BO4 had PaP levels. Im starting to feel like Cold War is a spiritual successor to BO4. It takes things BO4 tried and makes them better.

We don’t know if any of the crap he says is true. For all we know this was the plan from the beginning. Maybe not the last two maps for zombies because they were suddenly pulled to make sledgehammers cod but aside from that, we don’t know what treyarch’s “original” plans were beyond what the game turned out to be. So don’t believe Chopper unless he has actual proof.

One thing about Easter eggs in Zombies.
While they were disabled in Custom Mutations from the get go, they had at least side ones active in the normal game mode on the lowest difficulty then, sometime not too long after launch, even disabled that.
Like, the main ones I fully understood… But side ones? Like the Samantha ‘HE SAID LEAVE HIM ALOOOONE!’ Door on classified? Seemed weird to randomly decide to disable things like that.
I loved Blackout. Ive played a lot of BRs but it struck such a good balance between being sweaty and casually playing after work. Warzone seems like its own animal entirely, like you cant have fun without being very good at it.
For some reason, BO4 was literally my favorite multiplayer experience of any COD. And I started playing in WaW.
Not a big BR player, but I remember having fun in the Blackout Open Beta. The map design reminds me a bit of CSGO Danger Zone.
Loves the gun play alot. Something about it satisfied me more than any other cod. Not my favorite cod but very satisfying the first months playing
I loved Black Ops 3, easily a top 3 CoD for me, so when they announced the fourth one I pre-ordered it immidiately. After playing the Beta I cancelled my pre-order and haven’t touched the game since. Not even after it was free on PS Plus. Felt like they messed up all the thing that made BO3 great. Might have to go back and actually play the finished game one day tho

personally, ive always felt BO4 is the ''new coke'' of black ops, it adds things that we dont want or care about when we already love the original and prefer it, then they tried to take it back with the later zombies map trying to capilitize on the original but the taste of ''new coke'' is still there
I had fun at zombies specially blood of the dead..i believe tryarch put all the budget of zombies at that map..it's was and still fun even with the new system but the later maps are the worst,blackout was a great idea and a lot of reference and feels like (even through the mode has been made for the new players)they made the content only for og players..multiplayer was better than BO3(for me) and a the characters feels a lot active during battles but OP guns ruined the experience a little.

I level 1000ed multiplayer on Xbox within the first 1000 players on cod tracker. Afterwards I didn’t really have any point to play the game anymore. One thing I loved was that your level actually showed something unlike the new cods. Kinda intimidating when a level 1000 joins the lobby of an S&D game.
Lmao a couple months ago I bought bo4 for zombies (didnt really come back to cod from one of the super boosters till Cold War) and your explanation on how complex loading up a game was literally me. I ended up booting up a game of blood with some bots(cuz that’s new) and they ruined my game. When I got back to the menu I looked for a second and was like nah I’m good 😂
Great video really enjoyed it, personally I never hated Bo4 always thought even tho it was far from perfect it was a fun zombies experience overall, sucks that we didn't get anything after tag because I heard that we were supposed to get ZC 2 and 2 more chaos and aether maps which I would have loved to see, but I think why alot of people are or were disappointed with Bo4 was because of how big of a bar it had to follow up to Bo3 which was an awesome zombies experience maybe even the best in terms of hype for zombies, they spent too much time on trying to compete with other games and put most time into blackout etc and Activision made Treyarch put out Bo4 a month earlier or something to go up against red dead redemption 2 and fortnite at the time which were at their peak in terms of hype so the game came out not ready which led it to be unplayable kinda sad to see but yeah personally I think Bo4 has gotten better with the release of cw and vanguard but that's my opinion personally, I think we can all agree vanguard is the worst zombies game we have gotten, I remember when everyone thought Bo4 was the worst they could do😂 how that aged badly

Shockingly while u at first hated this game, it's one of the most fun I've had playing with friends on zombies and it's also a game where we did all the ees (besides classified)
I honestly really liked BlackOps4. It's multiplayer was really smooth, balanced and the heroes were really neat.
I unironically loved black ops 4 multiplayer (with the exception of prophet and zero, because they were both busted as hell). The gunplay was great and rewarded players that could sustain accuracy on a target rather than the first person who got the drop on the other. The zombies was take it or leave it on my part, I hadn't really enjoyed it since BO2 (I never could get into BO3s zombies despite all the good things said about it).
I feel like the progression is pretty nice in cold war, at least everything but the weapon kit upgrades right off the bat. I think salvage should of been implemented in a way where you have to craft a weapon.
BO4 will always be an anomaly in my eyes, considering just how many things went wrong with Zombies. I’m glad it exists but MAN…

I feel as though Treyarch and the community both set their standards incredibly high. The game was such a mixed bag with many ups and downs but overall it just missed the mark and I do think that this game can be enjoyed, but only in small doses due to all of its strange changes and alienating design choices. I get what Treyarch were going for, but it didn't quite make it.

@@gurkensohn9401 or maybe just maybe, the other zombies experiences are simply better. From their spawn points on their respective maps, to the perk system bo4 (perks are worse in every way to the OGs from bo2 or b4) and the complexity of the maps. I mean there’s a reason mob buried and origins are in the top 10 maps indisputably and arguably top 5. They were innovative which is why they keep coming back to those first 3 games to pull stuff from for bo3, 4 and Cold War. You don’t get whole revamps (the giant, moon, and mob) by being ass. I’m surprised they didn’t redo buried but they really couldn’t and implement it into a story seamlessly as they did those.
I know the word "rumor" isn't that great to use but what I heard years ago is that the developers created zombies (yes from the materials of world at war) but from what I was aware of was that it was created as something for them to keep busy with. Not purposefully but that's how it ended up. They finished the game and their boss thought it'd be good to throw in. Like a game part by gamers for gamers.
If they made bo4 and chaos it’s own game while continuing the aether storyline on bo3, it would’ve been so much better. Bo4’s new systems made it feel like a truly new zombies experience and it felt right for the chaos story but it severely hurt the aether storyline and how that experience felt throughout its decade long history. Bo3’s systems and mechanics are a lot better and suited aether so much more imo.
While I agree with most of what you said in this, I did thoroughly enjoy BO4 MP and it was the first time I took the time to unlock all mastery camos. Zombies was fun but far from perfect, still put a lot of time in it. Great video though, keep it up Chop

You’re amazing at making informative videos like this. I’d like to add that I believe that bo4 would’ve been a lot better if it had its 2 year life cycle. A year of Aether with the Great War map and then a year with chaos. The multiplayer and campaign changes they wanted to make to break the cod cycle would have been great if they weren’t tied to cod. A game like that sounds amazing to me if done correctly and they wouldn’t have been able to do it because Activision wouldn’t fully support something so different
It would have been perfect if the Aether maps were no remakes and if our dear TH-camrs weren't complaining all the time and crying like kids.

I honestly loved the bo4 zombies, the perk system was refreshing, the guns having operator mods, specialist as soon as you spawn in. It was just a fun mode to play, different from normal zombies but in a good way, I enjoyed it, the mob of the dead remake was pretty cool as well
Seeing the primis crew standing in mob of the dead was on of the most exciting things ever for me and made me really excited for the map, it is now my least favourite map of all time
Bo4 was actually really great and I liked all of the maps except for Alpha Omega.
I think IX, Ancient Evil, and Dead of the Night are phenomenal 10/10 maps.

Simple, it didn’t have the jetpacks that made bo3 so good which alienated the fans of that style. While still having a futuristic feel which OG players also didn’t like.
I was genuinely mad that there was no campaign but after a while i grew to accept it because i thought that zombies was really good

The TH-camrs and community whk copied TH-camrs opinions always complained to Treyarch that gums were too overpowered. They are the reason we got that.
