I think the craziest thing about the LS swapped Fox project is just how cheap and simple it seems to be if you have any mechanical experience at all. Really considering getting an LX roller and looking for a good donor LS to put in, and very consise information like this is making it even more appealing. Thanks for the video and well-presented info!
Thank you
I own a 93 LX. I'm scared that if I did it, my car would drop in value
@yahawahchosenone6712 it depends on the car, mine was an ugly 4 cyl so no regrets. A nice factory car problably isn't the candidate for one of these swaps. Performance cars in general are not good if you're concerned about maintaining any value.
@@WestcoastWrenchinhey, i was wondering how hard is it to have the headlights and the wipers and everything to work after the swap? does the holley take care of that? or do you need to rewire alot
like after i wire up the terminator and everything will the headlights and stuff work by them selves or would i have to do more work
Great video man. I will be swapping an 83 GT in the spring. I did a 6.0L in an 84 Tbird and it was a blast.
I am picking up a ls swapped foxbody this weekend! the first this i want to do is AC! i’m a newbie to the ls and muscle world! been tinkering with jdm for 15 years!
Thank you for this! Great video 😁🤘💪
this video couldn’t be more accurate for what I needed lol thank you!
Happy to hear that!
Love the car for sure do a video of the ac wiring
Another great video. Currently working on putting a 17 lt1 in an 88 fox coupe
That'll be fast!!!
Clean build im looking to do the same thing eventually
Might just do it. I’ve been through many foxes and I’m sick of building 500hp 347 strokers that are barely streetable. I’ll miss my carb setups though
Great video! I just subscribed. I was wondering if I could get that car file for the terminator screen to go in the vent.
You had me at cold AC
Biggest game changer! It actually makes me want to drive the car 🤣
Would my 302 , Aod transmission work with the Ls1 motor
Just picked up a 93 fox with the 4cyl but I bought it because the body is super clean and interior is all there. It’s got no guts as is haha so I’m gonna swap it. Just seeing what would be best, ls or 351. I just want it as a cruiser but I’d like it to be able to get up and move too
Came back to watch this video for my swap, sorting everything out, in the past 3 months I’ve went ahead and sourced a 5.3 lm7, and I’m starting to hoard parts for the swap. I’ve been doing a ton of research and I hope to actually start the swap within the next few months once I cam the engine and set the k member into the fox. I also picked up an 8.8 rear end and am patiently waiting to be able to afford a t56
What all did you have to do to your driveshaft?
Can you give the parts numbers for k member and the mounts?
Nice build! Just need headers and mines will be done as well. Do you have a part number for headers?
They're just the Hedman husler mid length foxbody ls
Im trying to use the factory PS pump off the fox on my 5.3l. I have the stock rack with new lines but what did you use to mount the factory ps pump? I also have the truck relocation kit
Ict bracket kit
Could y’all supply a build list for a lq9 to fit in a foxbody with a 4l80?
To fit in the foxbody, all you need is AJE K-member with AJE LS motor mounts and Holley transmission mount
I’m in the process of swapping my foxbody ATM and I’m confused on how the interior body harness still works with standalone system. Have any insights on that
The body harness is connected to the fuse box which is connected the the battery. The holley system is connected to the battery and only interacts to the body harness with essentially an ignition power wire. Thus they are two completely separate systems, it's why it's called a standalone. It stands alone from the rest of the car
What is the specs about serpentine belt?
Did you have to mess with anything in steering? I’ve heard rack needs lower?
Nada, bolt her on and go
Will you have heat also, heater core hoses?
Yes but I haven't bothered to run the hoses yet, I want to make some stainless tubes for the heat
did you have to do anything different with rear end and driveshaft im new to the ls swap just bought a 1990 lx about a week ago
Yes you will need a custom drive shaft
@@WestcoastWrenchinwhere would i get the drive shaft?
i’m doing a manual
@@Jacobrivera52 custom made
What did you do for the driveshaft? I’m doing a LS Swap 1994 Mustang with a 4L80.
It's a custom made.unit
Just came across this video. What k member are you using ?
Aje
What harmonic balancer did you go with?
Stocker
Are you in Van?
Sorry did you use the stock differential?
It had an 8.8 from a v8 car
did you have to cut or lengthen the driveshaft? I ask because I am wanting to use the stock driveshaft with the 4L80e. Do you know the length of the driveshaft?
It will need to be a custom shaft with 4l80e yoke, 42in or so I believe
@@WestcoastWrenchin I bought a slip yoke for a 4L80e, I am hoping I will be able to use it on my driveshaft from my 91, if I need to get a custom made then so be it. I am needing to find a wiring diagram, so I know what to use from the car to connect to my standalone harness.
@@nickwojciechowski6507 checkout my clean wiring video i show pretty much what I did
what altenator do you use with the ict kit
They provide the pn
@@WestcoastWrenchinThanks
is there a way to make the factory gauges work?
Yes you can use the oil pressure and temp with stock ford sensors, factory speedo is a bit tougher
You can get a GPS speedometer analog module from Jegs. That's what I'm using, works perfectly. RPM tach can work but only if you use the V8 tack. Just connect the tack signal wire from the terminator to the foxbody tach input harness. It's the round plug by the brake booster
You have the part number to your number radiator hose ?
In the description
Thanks sir keep up the good work looking good 👍🏾
Was wondering if you can send the cat file for the 3d print for the screen I want to do mine the same I have my holly already and that’s a perfect spot
@@terrellgoins4353 www.thingiverse.com/thing:6161924
So k member is a must?
Yes, no point in using the stocker in my opinion
What would you charge to do this
I never work on other people's stuff, sorry!
Was this a v8 or 4cyl mustang?
4cyl pos
@@WestcoastWrenchin lol ok cool. I see one on fb marketplace rn but i didnt know if a 4cyl could be ls swapped. Thanks a ton man
@@WestcoastWrenchin would those mounts work with the gen v lt1 ?
@@brandonsoublet5602 I've never touched an lt so I'm not sure!
