these are the best for aux sends and Outs for the price . and they Link so Nice when you Need to expand , i just have 2 mixers so far , as a drummer you might never get around to messing with feedback , but it sounds sick with some behringer pedals and the built in FX ☻
Hello and thank you for your video. I might be using this to record bass guitar with my band. I'm thinking about going with two channels, one line going straight into the mixer and another line for a microphone on the bass amp. Fro the line in I'm wondering if I should use a DI box or if the Xenyx has a good enough preamp for recording a bass straight in. Any advice would be appreciated.
Watching this I wonder why you hammer the buttons rather than just pushing them in to engage? I guess I like my equipment to last so I treat it with more respect.
Can you run the phantom power on separate channels. I have 2 condensers for drum overheads . If not is it safe to run the phantom power without damaging the dynamic mics
Yes its only ribbon mics you really need to worry about with phantom power, turning on the switch sends +48v to all channels, so any active di boxes and condensers you have plugged in will work and dynamics wont be affected
Hey man im really having trouble trying to record with this mixer. i have it hooked up to logic 9 on my mac, all preferences are set to the mixer. but im just not getting sound. what settings on the mixer itself do i need to set to record via usb?
The usb on mixer has no settings itself. Sound automatically goes through the usb port to your pc once your main mix volume is up. Check settings on your pc audio software to record from usb. You can use a less complicated software like Audacity to do some trial runs and see if it's recording.
Could you message if you have fb or reply ... I need to set up a live situation with two mains and two monitors regarding out puts I figure the mains out to the main speakers. But I need some guidance as to the outputs to the monitors and the buttons to engage to. The monitors. I'm running into a stereo power amp. I nwwd some help to separate the main adjustments from the monitor.
Hi - I answered but I think I misdirected it. I'm arbitrarily using "Headphone A" as my monitor-out. But I still need control of the mics and the incoming music files through the sliders. I'm simply trying to isolate the singing, sending it (in parallel) into the monitors. I have to guess that the volume of the monitors would be controlled by the grey/white knob?
Next to the headphone knob there are four buttons in the 'source' section, select only 'sub1-2' Next, on the channels you want to hear in the headphones (vox 1-3) look next to the fader and you should see a button that says 'sub1-2' press that aswell as the 'main mix' button. Now just turn the first two subgroup faders up and you should hear the vocals only in your headphones.
Hi, I have one of these and I have to say I ***absolutely hate it***. Worst decision I ever made buying this thing. Designed by engineers and not musicians. PFLs on only 2 auxs? pfft! Aux 3 is a reverb? What?! ! So then a muso friend says "you need to figure out how to use it properly cos it can do it what you want". Hmmmm.... So, I have a challenge for you if you're up for it! Can you describe how to plug in/route the following: 5 piece band. 3 vocals. 5 monitor mixes wanted Inputs: Heres the scenario: ch1 Vox1 (lead vox) ch2 Vox 2 (BVs 1) ch3 Vox 3 (BVs 2) ch4 Guitar ch5 Bass ch 6 7 8 drum stuff ch 13/14 steroe overheads Drums ch 15/16 stereo Keys mixes: ch1 Vox needs reverb FoH, plus some reverb on foldback monitor ch2 BVs 1 want a mix- FoH reverb, foldback monitor reverb if poss but not necessary ch3 BVs 2 want a mix- FoH reverb, foldback monitor reverb if poss but not necessary ch4 guitar needs mix ch5 bass needs mix ch6 7 8 13/14 needs to be a mix for FoH and if poss as a stero mix sub group to rest of mixes. ch 15/16 goes to all as a mix too. So, there you go! Can it be done?
Simon Early I haven’t seen this desk in about three years, so I can’t remember what it does or doesn’t have, but the question comes down to if everyone needs separate mixes or not, if you guys can settle for sharing two or three mixes then you’ll be fine, if you need 5 separate mixes I’d recommend looking at something like an x32 compact/producer/rack
Yo.. hope you figured out your mix problem.. Next time get a bigger desk in or compromise. A cursory look at your aux channels will tell you how many monitor mixes you can send to the stage. This desk has four, which tells you straight off to talk to the band and get a compromise. Your overhead mics can't be in 13/14 as they are line level only. The overheads would have to be in 9 and 11, which still leaves you with 13/14 and 15/16 for keys etc. Monitor mix reverb..?? Really.. That's swampy man. Hope you talked to the band about that. This desk is great.. does what you need but maybe not what You want.. which are two different things entirely. Like the saying goes.. Bad workmen blame their tools.
+MistaMayotte This unit cannot record anything. However it does have direct outs in back which can be used for multi track record when hooked up to a multi track recorder. However you would end up recording them all simultaneously.
I wonder if you still own and operate this machine, or have you graduated to a, standalone unit? The MstrINS. Is very interesting, especially once you notice the CLIP on the ten step VU meter. This must be adsociated with hard drive recording snd conversion. This MSTRINS is tune to utilize a master amplifier such as a Variable, or FET or maybe even Dak.VCA to your liking, whereas these units cannot be utilized through the standard, channel insert points. As you can see this can greatly, or, rather, could have largely improved the quality of recordings, sum, ten years ago simply by adding one of these units which can even be replaced by a less expensive Opto style unit, transforming this i/o 12 stereo/4/2 a Beast, especially, with these additional Sub outs, being processed by that said MSTRINS, and perhaps finding its way through some rotary or other stereo mixing device. Good Day
No idea if you'll see this, but I have this board, but very little experience. I had it all set up with mics for a live stage show. A very sweet person tried to be helpful and wiped dust off the board, and now sound only comes through the speakers if the fx is up, and it seems to be stuck on 15. Any idea what might have happened? I feel like I've pushed every button, but nothing changes. The light comes on when speaking into the mic, so I know that sound is coming in. Just can't get it to go out to the speakers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kevin D'Abramo Personally I would use a di box

Can you bypass the internal FX unit and use Aux 3 for an external reverb unit?
Yes you can - just plug in an external reverb unit and it will automatically bypass the internal effects in the mixer!

Phantom power does not damage dynamics.
can you record 10 mics at the same time?
Yes, 10 pre amp mics

yeah it's great for the price, but i do need to expand as it does not have enough channels for my needs

Plug your monitors into aux send 1&2

you can use the controller to mix a project instead of using it to record
does it multi track record? anybody?
No it doesn't, it takes the main out feed so its 2 channel recording
