My dog was diagnosed about 4 weeks ago and was caught early the vet put her on carprovet she was already taking fish oil supplements and glucosamine the vet told me to keep that Up. I decided to put her on CBD the vet liked that idea I noticed a difference in 4 days. 4 weeks Later she is playing ball jumping and chasing Squirrels. She is my miracle dog.

As someone who's gone through this with a senior cat, it's a lot more common in cats than the literature states (I see so many cat parents in cat health groups with cats showing all the signs of IVDD and/or arthritis talking about this), the issue is it's often not diagnosed properly due to cost of MRI and decompression surgery (x-rays are inconclusive), the common belief that it's rare in cats so is misdiagnosed, and because some professionals believe that it's better to euthanize or sell expensive pseudoscience "treatments" instead of referring to a neurologist. Even worse if they do chiro, pls DO NOT let your pet with possible IVDD have chiro done ! Any manipulation of the spine is the opposite of what's needed and can make it much worse (also chiro is not scientifically based medicine for any creature including us, but in this situation pls do not allow your pet to get it).

Try wet cat food like 9 lives or Friskies for stage 1 or 2 IVDD. This worked for both my dogs.

Do you have an idea why it helped?

Extra protein maybe? Don’t think any vet would recommend this.

Hi, My dog just recently diagnosed with IVDD and it progressed so fast that all of his 4 legs become paralyzed. I live in Indonesia where theres no MRI yet for dog so its making the surgeon cant operate him yet. Since he cant walk or even lift his head up, he can’t control his bladder and poop, so theres also another problem with his organ. Its been overwhelming, I cry most of the time. Hoping theres another way until we can find a way to operate on him 🥲
