I have a classic 350 which has done 320 miles with the first service due next week. Yesterday at 40mph in 5th the bike miss fired, about 4 blips in 10 seconds which is exactly the same issue you mention. Thankfully I watched ever video on TH-cam on the classic before I bought it and I remembered your video. This morning it took me all of 10 minutes to clear out a huge amount of gunk from the relays and housing. This is something I would never have tried without your video, hopefully it's sorted the issue. Thanks to guys like you who know your stuff putting up brilliant content and tips to help out mechanical dumkoff's like me. Brilliant channel mate, thanks for your help!

Fantastic, might do the preventative maintenance, good job for a wet winters day. I was watching with the generated subtitles on, and when you gave the engine a bit of a rev at the end, the subtitle generated by the sound came up as "applause".... brilliant! haha
I am SO glad I saw this video, like many other Classic 350 owners, no doubt. I haven`t read all the other comments but I am sure others will be doing this easy maintenance jobs, as I will tomorrow, even though I haven`t personally had any problems as yet. Many thanks
I’ve had the same slight miss in my 350 classic in AUS and thought it was a lean fuel mixture issue, now I know what the real cause was. Well done thanks. 👍
Really useful video, thanks. Just today, 2 miles from the end of a 30 mile run, doing just under 50 in 5th and engine missed 3 times in quick succession. I remembered your video and inspected my relays. They look like someone was practicing icing a christmas cake. I used dental brushes and cotton buds to get the majority off. Will probably buy some Hitcocks or genuine Bosch replacements. Cheers
Further to my prev comment, I have now opened my 2022 350 classic up and found my relays to be even worse than yours. Not sure if it’s fixed my miss yet but your video was spot on in every detail. Save for one, they have now included a little clip on one side of the relay which you have to pop open before you can remove it. Mine was an April 22 model. Ride with Warro in Oz fixed the infamous Classic 350 speedo problem , same as your relay fix, shift the grease and job done, He even got a new speedo from Enfield, that arrived just after his fix. Hope this helps Enfield owners too. Cheers, DINO

Thanks so much for this. My Classic 350 would "miss" twice in quick succession on almost every ride and the dealer suggested I change to E5 fuel, but it made no difference. After cleaning excess grease from the fuel pump relay as per your instructions the problem is fixed. At no time did the engine management light come on but I wonder if the computer assigned a "pending" code because the fault was intermittent.
Thank you and you are most welcome. Code readers for the Enfields are reasonably priced for ultimate peace of mind but if the problem seems fixed I’d live with the uncertainty. My engine light never came on and the bike is running sweet😊👍🏻
That white grease is everywhere on my Classic 350. Useful but over applied. Better than nowt though and a mark of Enfield's new found enthusiasm for quality

On my last ride on the Meteor I had 4 coughs in a few seconds at about 50mph in 5th. No problems at all in the last 2500 miles. Lots of grease on the relays but the stuff on the EMS & fuel pump ones had started to discolour. Is it breaking down with heat? All cleaned off now.

Thank you Ken….REs love to throw up the occasional engine light…..check the 02 sensor connection at both ends otherwise I’d guess after a few start/stops it will go out 👍🏻
Just make sure you save all that grease you removed from the relays for lubing the drive chain!!! LOL 😂 Man, that’s a LOT of grease. My Classic 350 haven’t had any issues but I’ll surely check it out and clean it properly (and apply some proper dielectric grease). Greetings from Brazil!
I have the same exact issue. 5th gear around 52-54 mph. Took it to dealer. They couldn’t reproduce the issue but it happened again on the way home. I cleaned the grease out. Not fixed. Installed three new relays from Hitchcocks. Still not fixed. Am curious has your problem been fixed, wondering have you ridden it to find out. Thanks in advance.

Merci…..oui c’est possible avec un compresseur ou un aerosol d’air etc mais c’est tres important n’oubliez vous pas garder en peu de graisse ou postuler en peu de nouveau graisse 👍🏻
I've had that stuttering feeling from my classic 350, but the bike also jumps from 5th down to 4th gear as well.!! It turns out that if you're chain is running a bit slack then this can happen. I tried this theory out and sure enough, I never have any stuttering problems or the gear jumping when the chain's properly adjusted. The headlight plug is also caked in grease. I found that out when I did my headlight bulb change video.
Hi buddy... I owned classic 350 reborn only 2 months old, one day suddenly I noticed while driving my bike shut off at idle rpm or while standing it's idle rpm too low that it shut off the engine itself...after sometimes my bike running fine so could it be due greasy relay as you... showed in video
Hi I think those relays are a very likely cause….I would clean them out or replace them (quality replacements are fairly cheap) and see how you go….let me know how you get on buddy 👍🏻
Hi dino , still having same problem I have cleaned extra grease from relay ...at idle rpm my bike shut down.. problem is at idle rpm only.. could it be problem with O2 sensor or any other suggestions... thanks

Try changing the one marked for fuel with one of the others or replace them all with better relays (they are cheap to buy)….if problem persists get a diagnostic tool or get a mechanic to do a diagnostic to see if the ecu is throwing out any error codes

Very poor that RE hasn't sorted this issue, It's been going on for years on various models. Worryingly looking at many YT videos, reading forums and from friends personal experience it is not the only case of inferior quality components being used in quite a few areas.
Why RE continues to use these failure-prone relays along with gobs of lithium grease despite continued problems escapes me. Really enjoying your content!

Hi, I decided to replace the relays, so I cleaned the sockets completely and applied small amounts of dielectric grease. Then new relays. 🤞

So glad you found it useful….interesting re the chip as my 350 is (supposed to be) an August 2022….it was the last green one in the UK

This works. I had the 5th gear stutter problem and cleaning the relay contacts stopped the stutter.

Is that black grommet on the rhs placed ok to presumably protecr the thick black cable entry ?

Good, now I know where the relays are, though I thought there were 5 not 3.
I’m guessing it’s that fuel pump relay which is at the root of the problem

Did this problem contribute to the bike not starting at all? Mine just clicks rapidly when I hit the starter button, and doesn't start.
No not starting it sounds like you have a battery issue
