A couple of years later, Reagan was giving a speech when a balloon popped. He says, "Missed me."
And that's why he's my favorite President (Not American)
There’s plenty I didn’t like that he did but I love how fast his quips were.
over a 6 has to be the most disrespectful and hilarious question ever.
Especially considering Jodie Foster was atleast an 8 during the 80's 😂
Nah, 7 is pushing it!
@@vladimirmihnev9702 Well, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one I guess 🤔
@@Motimopo She was 12 when he did it. If you think she was hot, jump.
@@godwarrior3403 I literally said during the 1980s and she's born in the early 1960s, fuck off
The surgeons said "Mr President, we're all Republicans today."
"And if you want to learn why .22lr was the wrong choice, check out Sonoran desert institute"- Brandon
Only briefly mentioned by Brandon, but that Banzai bomb was crazy. A Japanese Politician Asanuma Inejiro was spreading pro communist sentiment and was coming close to winning an election. During one of his speeches that was televised in 1960, a 17 year old named Otoya Yamaguchi rushed the stage with a Wakazashi and skewered the politician killing him live on TV. There is a very famous photo of the instance, as well as footage. I believe he committed suicide in prison. Following this, many credit Otoya Yamaguchi with essentially halting the spread of communism in Japan.
Damn that’s fucking wild
wouldn't surprise me if the CIA had their fingers in it.
@@khnelli4918 likely not, he was part of a very nationalist and anti-communist group that stood for Japan, and Inejiro was championing Japan’s alignment with Maoist China. This was so unacceptable that he was willing to do that, especially since the Maoists would have completely removed Japan’s imperial family if they took over
On next weeks unsubscribed podcast John Hinkley and Jodi Foster….
Breaking news: entire podcast crew dead and John hinkly has taken Jodi foster. Brandon’s last words were recorded as “Huh, isn’t it ironic haha.” 😂
“I’m surprised it took this long”
I talked to a guy doing bluegrass on here not long ago... I told him to listen to 1916 by Motorhead......
I really hope it wasn't him.
"For a fucking six" Gave me the same vibes as "For Vegeta?.....Really" From DBZA lmfao (when gohan saves him from cell)
Brandon in Congress gets escorted out before every SOTU as Secret Service has him on a watch list, also gets flown by the airforce because TSA bars him from commercial flights. I can already see the headlines. Airforce gives Congressman the Air Force One treatment regulary as he is on TSA list. Congressman becomes a second designated Survivor by default by being bared from SOTU.
I would watch this designated survivor show!
I could see this happening.
So important facts to mention are that Hinkley was obsessed with Jodie Foster after seeing her in Taxi Driver.........she was barely in her TEENS at the time of that movie so REEEEEEEEEEALLY adds to the creep factor of why he did it. The actual attempt footage is also wild as fuck cause of how FAST the agents responded, Regan was in his limo in a few seconds, one of the agents that covered produces a full-sized Uzi out of fucking thin air. This is not including that not just the Secret Service and police but civilians actually assisted with pinning Hinkley to the ground, genuinely surprised he didn't get crushed to death or suffocated by the amount of people that jumped on him. Genuine respect for their reaction and bravery.
I bet you wouldn't see the same response from Biden. The secret service was vaguely talking about the debauchery in the white house before the crack and gay s3x in the senate was exposed.
Different time, a better time. For society at large that is. Way better people to try to impress than her tho 😅🤦🏽♂️🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Scorsese and De Nero were tip toeing around the "windy" scene, trying to explain to her what the idea was.....
The conversation ended when she said "You want me to give him a _____________" and she knew the proper terminology...
Regan was in the limo and driving away before anyone realized he'd been hit.
Up to that point the idea for the Secret Service was to protect the person they are assigned to, after the incident they came up with the jump out boys.
A squad that follows and if stuff goes down one team protects while the other takes out the threat.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. -John Hinckley jr.
Had to LAUGH - I was 16 when it happened, and ALL my buddies back then said "Jody Foster??"
Hinckley was the author of the Brady Bill. Essentially.
When he was in recovery in the hospital, President Reagan did nothing but crack jokes for a solid hour, and had the doctors and staff busting up. Considering how close to dying he was just hours before that's pretty impressive.
"Ideal Justice is when the victim successfully defends themselves by killing their attacker." I wish I knew who came up withthat.
Some ape, fresh out of a tree a LONG time ago.
"Hey, you do what you like!"
Found Brandon's campaign slogan
Y'all gotta check out that story more--it's wild.
That was John Hinkley, Jr.
The night before the shooting, his father (JH Sr) had dinner with George Bush, as he was a big donor.
And the Jodie Foster thing has to do with the movie Taxi Driver--so you'll need to watch it.
Also the Biden guys lobbied for his release because he "only" tried to kill a non establishment Republican the DNC hates to replace with former CIA director Bush. Bush who was on the corner in Dallas when they used Oswald as the patsy with a riffle that had a steel bolt welded in the barrel and caught his shot.
He has a youtube channel now he uploads music, yes he isnt in prison but a freeman... making youtube videos... fucking wild.
Shane Gillis covered this topic. It was way funnier.
As a young man at the time, Jodie Foster and Tatum O'Neal were light years above of any other females.
One of the popular TV shows at the time was "The Greatest American Hero" and the main character was named Ralph Hinkley. After the assassination attempt, they changed the name of the character to "Mr. H" and sanitized 'Hinkley' from all of the reruns of earlier episodes.
Ralph Hinkley (temporarily changed to Ralph Hanley for part of season one due to real-life current events)
Hinckley was never in prison. He was in a mental asylum in dc for decades.
I really want to know what hinckley thought when he learned that Jodie foster is gay
Who knows....but it wouldn't astound me if he's one of those guys that believes you can f--k a lesbian into being heterosexual.
I still remember being in Catholic school our principal Sister Donna came on the intercom & announced it. She told us President Reagan has been shot please pray for him. Grade school was that, duck & cover practices for earthquakes & nuclear war with finishing off with the Challenger explosion before even getting to high school.
Iv seen an interview with John hinkly… he’s just not all there as a person. I don’t think he’s malicious. Ur not exactly ‘reformed’ he’s just mentally unwell… that being said his Music is sad as hell… mostly becouse it’s a mentally unwell guy who tried to kill reagon😂
All this Jodie Foster talk is making me want to play pinball. Lol😂
That's dark.
Nice.
Hinkley’s episode should be called be ‘22 & Me’.
And one of Regans speeches, after he recovered. Then a balloon pops. Not missing a beat, President Regan, “ missed me”
Fun fact, (Not so fun actually, but we'll role with it) the guy that shot James Garfield specifically chose a revolver with an ivory grip because it would look cooler in a museum
hinckley was never in prison, he was mentally unstable and institutionalized. he was deemed no longer mentally ill and released with limits, recently getting a full life back. he makes country songs about love and regrets his actions
Little bit of Trivia ... the main characters name in The Greatest American Hero TV show was changed from "Hinkley" to "Hanley" because of the Reagan Assassination attempt, it wasnt until season 2 they returned the name
Ok here is comment no one but me will like :) My father was a Sgt and Quartermaster in the Marines aboard the USS Telfair. They helped land the 77th in precursor attacks prior to Okinawa that secured Kerrama Retto.
It's only a war crime the first time
Hinkley stalked Jodie Foster back when it wasn't a crime. He saw her in Taxi Driver and became obsessed. He recorded a couple conversations when he called her in college. She tried to be nice but didn't want to talk to him. He shot Reagan and she disappeared from public for a while. She was in the prime of her life, college, actress, no big responsibility. He took all that from a college teenager and wrapped her into the death of a secret serviceman and the attempted assassination of a president. She came back from the nightmare and became an amazing actress. And gay. Well, she may have been gay before he tried to be John Wilkes Booth. Hard to say. Point is, it was a stupid thing to do and supremely idiotic when she wasn't looking for his kind in the first place.
That greyhound incident is how greyhound got their new motto
Where you beheaded?
True story. We lived in the same motel that Hinckley was staying in before he went to shoot Reagan. My parents let him watch me multiple times. My parents wouldn't let my sister out of the motel room for weeks because of the media
Yes Hinkley used a .22 pistol, I thought it was some kind of explosive tip ammo that didnt work. I was a young man when this happened, I kind of remember. reagan was drove to Bethesda where a conference of surgeons was just breaking up. they didnt need to call anyone in. Reagan walked up the stairs and in the doors under his own power but collapsed inside, the bullet had deflated his lung. Hinkley hid in a group of reporters just a few feet away , one round struck James Bradey in the head messed him up for life.
This did not aged well :(
You guys crack me up
On a serious note. The dude was crazy
Hence no reasonable explanation from a sane perspective
There is some real science to chemical imbalance and crazy.
But if someone has a break from reality and shoots someone unless you know why they acted like that and can guarantee it won’t happen again how do you let them out in society.
Proof that truth is stranger than fiction. Welcome this video back to the algorithm guys.
5:40 i fucking love nick
I love this goddamn show.
So he refused to go in the hospital anyway but walking and immediately collapsed inside a he was helped into a Gurnee and a nurse was holding his hand he looked up at her smiled and asked her "does my wife know about us?"
it was a RG pistol which is why the company was called reagan getter.had to remove the cylinder to reload and it wasnt speedy.i think the were about $25 new .buddy had one that had the receipt in the box 30yrs ago .i imagine theyve all turned to dust by now
Wow. History proves he was really peeing up the wrong flagpole.
"...for a six...."😂😂😂😂
Don't know if it's considered a lame gun, but the son of sam used a 44. Bulldog revolver when he was shooting people in NYC.
Can we just also say Jodie Foster is such a legend
Charlies Angles were far hotter choices.
fun fact
John Hinckley has an active TH-cam channel
I think one of his 1st appearances was here in Athens, GA.....😂😂😂
Ha he threw it all away for a angry lesbian
The guy who shot Reagan lives ~15-20 minutes from my childhood home. It was one of the big things we talked about at lunch.
She was not 19. She was 12.
Edit, she was 12 when the film came out, she was 17 when he shot regan
LMAO Watch the movie Carny 1980. Different Jodie Foster for sure! That's what twisted Hinkley's willy.
I love y'all's shit, like minded like crazy, but I need help, I need a purpose, Brandon I voted for u. Nick your awesome Donut love u bro, Eli your a beast bro, Im a lost soul guys I'm 42, I love Texas, I love what America could be, and was. I've lost every1 and I I'm just idk anymore brother, help me guys please I need something to change tht I can't so on my own, and yea failure fuck me. NVM I don't know why I'm here saying shit
I mean, let’s be honest, she’s was a solid 7.5 maybe 8 in the 80s
I was 5 when that attempt was made on Reagan. My grandfather was a Methodist minister in NC. A radio station asked him to come on to talk about it & to pray for Reagan. He took me to the radio station with him & I remember hearing his voice over the loud speaker. I think one of the reasons that Reagan is my favorite president is because he reminds me of my grandfather. They both were diagnosed with Alzheimer's at around the same age (my grandfather was 81 & Reagan was 83) & they died the same year, 2004, but my grandfather was 9yrs younger. I was appalled when Hinckley was released. It still pisses me off!
Wow, he actually does have a YT channel. It's not bluegrass though, sounds like weird 60s stuff, Bob Dylan folk type thing.
Yeah, I can see it now...
You guys have Hinkley on the podcast - with or without Jodie sitting next to him - and 12 minutes in he starts laughing like Heath Ledger's Joker. That's a little late to figure out they didn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again like they thought...
The explosive bullets that he used were “Devastator” brand and were filled with lead azide which is highly poisonous as well as being a sensitive primary explosive. However they were known for not going off unless shot at hard surfaces because they weren’t terribly well designed.
I was on that greyhound bus. Got off in Edmonton and that happened shortly after.
Buddy has pieces of that young kid in his pocket. He was on day passes from the loony bin within a yr or two unsupervised
Paul just hit 1.3 mil
I’ve heard rumor that in private, when told by other actresses and famous people of something nice their boyfriend or partner did for them, she has joked along the lines of “well that’s nice, I mean it isn’t shooting someone, but it’s still nice.”
Don't forget the Manson family member Squeaky Frome.
Reagan was shot in the arm pit. The bullet ricochet off one rib went down and bounced off another coming to rest near his heart.
I remember when Reagan was shot. All Marines the at NAS Memphis(we were learning Airwing Tech stuff) all of us were mustered at the armory and issued rifles.
You guys don't get how hot everyone thought she was back then. There was a whole thing called JFA, Jody Foster's Army
"Over a 6?" Well, he was found not guilty by reason of insanity, so...
Fat Electrician doesn't know who Hink-Dog is. Very surprising. He has been trying to do music tours of the US but as soon as the venues find out who he is they cancel it. He also sells shitty art like Hunter. There are many interviews with him from over the years he is not a good interview.
I mean, arguably bro has a 9... so it makes sense that Eli would be confused 😅
0:53 Eli I love you bud. Congrats, you just won the internet.
Just think what earnest the guy Brandon running against would slander Brandon about after that interview lol
Ok timeing
That look on Hinkley’s face when Jodi Foster came out.
The country could really use hinkleys services now. Do you think he could do any community service.
How much would someone have to pay to be "a live studio audience" for Unsub? 10:34
I actually own the type of revolver it's an rg-14 and yes it looks like a cap gun
think about how many ppl got to sit down and talk to a guy who shot a president......... this would be a wild episode if it happened you think he got a remix of i shot the sheriff
This is very entertaining but it will be hard to top the Afganie donkey story.
It was HW Bush. And your history is too media driven.
Ffs eli let the man talk..
Ease up on the gabby water😂
If hinkly had been from the trailer Park, he would have died in a real prison
that "hey you do what you like :D!" aged like a fine milk xD
Jody Foster's Army, JFA
Can you imagine what John would have done for a 10!
In what worlds was 80s Jodie Foster a 6!
My uncle took one of those bullets. He was the officer shot.
Ohhh I'd love to see Ron White on your channel LOL
Tom brady another one was also problem.
She was never a 6 , a 4 at best in comparison to the women alive at that time .
he has thirty seven and a half thousand followers
John has 35.5k subscribers !
Jodie is a hard 8. What!? Even this these days!
Hinkley should have never been released!
Hinkley's channel name is 22 long
but was Jodie Foster impressed?
2:09
That would be an awesome podcast. "How do you Travis Pick well?" And why did you think you could kill a President?
A 6? Bruh shes not even a 3😆😆😆😆😆
I have been trying to get my hands on an RG-14 for a while. I never really liked Jodi Foster except she had that one good scene in "The Accused"...
Wait till after your election
A 6 is a little disingenuous.
Haha. Target audience.
And ironically enough the video that popped up in the watch next after this clip ended is JODIE FOSTER!!!! Woooowwwwwww TH-cam 🤦🏽♂️🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🇺🇸
Brady Law. The one we all know and love. His ventilated press sec.
