BF3 Had the best maps, best online experience i have ever had
Netcode was shit, but gunplay and maps were the best.

chris miller meeh probably getting overloaded with graphical effects. Maybe a polished version without bugs. Which they should have fixed a month after release... like headglitching, c4 through walls, glitching behind walls, getting stuck in knife animation, m320 underslug not counting as m320 and so on.

Even 7 years later BF3’s Graphics On PC still hold up too today’s standards, I’d say the game has aged well.

I know this was a great looking and great playing game. But for me, what really got me into the game, was the sound. Good god, the sound was amazing. From the ringing in your ears after a grenade goes off, to the echos when you go underground. Every little detail of noise kept me playing for days upon days
I also love good sound design in a a game. BF1s was excellent along with great physics, saved the game in my opinion.

This game was so ahead of its time.
It had its limitations (net code, network connections, matchmaking) but when I played roughly 20% of the time it was the most intense and cinematic experience I've ever had in an FPS game!
It was actually a regression of the games that came before it..
So I've heard, but it was BC2's gameplay that made me fall in love with the series.
I still play bf3 as much as I can and I haven't stopped loving it since the first time I've played it. Nor bf4 or bf1 was fun for me. I still come back on this game

Honestly i dont think BF will ever get as good as BF3. Even BF4 felt like a downgrade in gameplay. I feel like if they cant create the same amount of intensity of rush BF3 just remaster it and keep it updated with new content because THIS IS BATTLEFIELD.

Creepy Dangler Also maps were better balanced and were built from the ground up for rush. BF4 has one of the worst map designs in terms of balance and flow. I like BF4 but something other than the blue hue was missing.

By the end of the game's cycle, I was pretty much playing Rush exclusively. Not a single BF game since, to me, has come close to matching the combo of good maps, gun play (minus the overdone suppression) and just general addiction that BF3 had; especially in Rush mode.
The continual overlook of Rush mode in the latest BF games has lead to me wanting to play those games a lot less.

The good ol’ days in BF3 was the spawn camping in on Operation Metro and stealthily flanking around trying to take the furthest objective and push back in to hit the spawn campers from all sides and watch them panic. Haha such good times, miss those days dearly.

I remember on Operation Metro me and my team were stuck on a stairway so we were spamming grenades shooting randomly and it was like a movie scene. Thats why i love battlefield, its almost never the same

Its funny because back in 2011 BF3's Frostbite engine was smashing headlines saying it was 'five years in the future' in terms of graphics. I estimated at least three, but it turns out that they were pretty much right.

Not something relevant to gameplay yet a small thing with a big impact. I was disappointed when the mastery dogtags in BF4 was just a silhouette of the weapon/vehicle; the proficiency dogtags in BF3 gave you the same thing for only 100 kills.

Operation Metro and Damavand Peak are probably my most favorite maps ever in BF. I loved how i could go from sniping to using AR's/Submachine guns to shotguns. Shit was hella fun.

BF3 just needed a bit of adjustments like suppression, spotting etc to make it the best online war game ever.

Over 3K hours on BF3 since 2011 stopped playing it like 3-4 years ago and I still love this game so much. Sad most people left the game for brokenfield 4 and trashline. Best experience I have ever had with BF3 the game play, maps, weapons and vehicles.
you could "drive" a couch... dumb kid shite isn't "what the franchise needed". not everyone has ADHD, so change for the sake of change is a poor excuse. Hardline suffered from all of BF4's netcode issues, tho it was 16mo newer & Dice LA had nearly fixed BF4 by then... & they still didn't migrate those fixes to Hardline for another 6mo or longer. Hardline was corny, lazily re-used resources, lacked depth & detail, had major balance & gameplay issues (those bushes?), & mechanics furthered the franchise's march to dumbed casualness. BF3 scared the CoD kiddos away, as a BF title should.

I totally get that games can be punching bags for people who want to look cool (CoD and Fortnite spring to mind), but as far as Battlefield goes, Hardline wasn’t that great in my opinion. Off it’s own merit it would be fine, but it was too similar to BF4 yet didn’t give much of a Battlefield feeling.

Yea BF1 looks really cartoony IMO. Not cell shaded cartoon like borderlands. But something feels really off. Then BF4 looked really colourful to me. But there is something just right with BF3. Like I prefer BF3 metro rather than metro 2014, the blue tint just looks better tbh. Not just the blue tint, but the tint in general like the yellow tint on Markaz Monolith just helped to add to the immersiveness to me personally

I played BF3 since 2012 summer. I spent over 1700 hours in bf3 when I started to get banned from everywhere I quit from playing it. I've done everything funny,tryhard,challenges in BF3 and I've had pretty good time. Thank you dice for opening a new era in fps. However, I cant say same things for BF4, Hardline and BF1. I couldn't find the joy of bf3 in any game.
BUTTercup0 Bf4 and even hardline was fun. Not as fun as 3 but still worth playing.

HansxxGruber yes. But even in those maps. They are large. Have many many different accessable buildings and wide roads. Battlefield isn’t call of duty it’s just not build for limited maps like bf4

This game was so damn fun. Enough variety to keep you entertained but not oversaturated with gadgets that hold your hand. Not all Rush maps were perfectly balanced (I seem to remember Damavand Peak being patched) but Rush took a big step down in BF4. Rush on Kharg Island worked well but DICE somehow forgot how to make a coastal assault when making Hainan Resort. I’ve not played much BF1 so I don’t know how Rush (or Operations) works in that game.
I’m hoping BF2018 gets me invested as much as BF3 did.
I fucking miss BF3 and rush. They need to make more rush oriented maps like this! It was the best game mode!! The clutch defuses and close games were insane.

ricepicker562 I play on pc in Europe and never have trouble finding full servers . Rush is one of my favourites and I can always find at least 2-3 full serves.

That is common issue in online playing... But BF3 with low server tickrate couldn't handle it. Since players get info from server - not directly from enemy player, that info is not updated on time and on enemy's screen you are visible, while in your perspectice - behind cover. But thanks, good intentions :D

My aim always just felt so much cleaner in bf3. In bf1 the bullet spread and recoil patterns are ridiculous and impossible to control if you are going for a long range kill

I’m hoping for Vietnam for the same reasons: WWII would probably be too similar to WWI. Future is out of the question because of what CoD has done, and while I’m still okay with a modern game, it’s not exactly different.

Did the same in my home theater back in 2011. Was the most surrealistic thing I ever experienced in a fps-game till this day. So dynamic yet so balanced and smooth sound.

The AN-94 in this game was my go to, learned how to time the burst and I’d take out snipers and do well in cqb. Loved that thing so much in BF3. Miss this game a lot

I used to always prefer rush in bf3 over most other modes, except of course conquest. When I join a random game, and it's rush, I'm actually excited to play. Now with BF4 and bf1 whenever I join rush game I always back out. I miss bf3.........

yaya the fox it is 60hz for pc. The consoles that were out when this game came out couldn't handle 60 Hz (fps)

nothing compares to rush in BC2. Going down the mountain with ATV with c4's attached on top you hop off at the last second bringing down the mcom building with huge explosion. Can't beat that.
