    In this video PGA Golf Professional Rick Shiels heads to the driving range with the 2017 World’s Strongest Man & world record deadlift holder (500KG - 1102 LBS) Eddie Hall.
    Eddie Hall is renowned in the sport of strongman & fitness world as being one of the strongest men to ever walk the Earth and Rick Shiels wants to test if his amazing strength can result in him hitting the golf ball a very long way.
    Golfers on The PGA Tour & The European Tour such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson & Jason Day hit the golf ball at around 120MPH & Rick Shiels swings at around 110MPH. How fast can the world’s strongest man swing a golf club and how far can he hit the golf ball?

    Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This TH-cam channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
    I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
    I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
    I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
    On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

      @@MrMultifunc Yes and no. Sure, it's a new record but he's the first man to lift 500kg. That's a milestone that while might be broken, is probably more noteworthy until we ever reach the next milestone (550?). For example, did you know that Felix Baumgartner's (the guy that jumped from the stratosphere and broke the sound barrier) record was actually broken 2 years later? No one hardly even knows that, let alone his name. We mostly remember the guy who did it first. That said, I've never heard of Eddie Hall because I don't follow weightlifting at all but he'll always be known as the first man to get to 500 I'd imagine.

    Respect for being able to actually hit the ball. I guess golf must be a difficult sport when you are that massive, as I could imagine it being more difficult to rotate in the swing.

    • @soulessshadow5356
      @soulessshadow5356 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Absolutely is. With golf, hip mobility and torsion speed is huge, but in Strongman it's all about explosive verticle speed, strength, and short-range endurance. When you're built like a brick shit house so to speak, it raises the difficulty a lot

      You don't need the "when you're that massive." Golf is just an incredibly difficult sport. It's not about raw strength, it's all rotation. One of the top Long Drive winners is Jamie Sadlowski, who is 6 foot something and 170 pounds.
      Even if you get all of the twisting down, you still need to make good contact, or all the power is wasted.

      It’s because of the 2017 strongman drama where Thor claims he was cheated but actually wasn’t and everyone believed him hence tarnishing Eddie halls name and title, there’s a documentary on it, but in the end Eddie won fair and square while Thor cried to his mommy and his yes man team.

      The problem Eddie had with Thor's lift was that it wasn't in a tournament setting. In tournaments, you have to do multiple lifts in a row with a very minimal break, and despite all that Eddie still managed to deadlift 500kg. Thor likely warmed up, got set, did the one lift, then walked off. There is no way that Thor could be so much stronger than Eddie that a lift that made the latter almost pass out could be done so easily if the same conditions were met.

    I love your videos, just found your channel earlier this week. I've always loved golf and played alot when I was younger. Unfortunately as I got older I didn't have as much time due to work and also it is hard to afford to be able to just get out and play a round. I've always had a strong passion for golf and I always will. Maybe some day I'll be able to get back on the course fairly regularly and try to get back to where I was. Being from Canada it doesn't help with having long winters some years.
