Thanks for the plethora of information you have provided. I agree on the removal of the welded loop and am partial to the nail knot as its proved its worth. Ive been into my backing a few times salmon/steelhead fishing which is where the nail knot has proven itself worthy. I also enjoyed the bug identification video i came across recently. Keep up the good videos! God Bless n Fish on!

I fished for years using a 4wt rod with 3wt line because i felt that i got better feel working the line and during a strike. Great series so far guys ive watched them all multiple times and pick up something different every time i watched them. The fly identification video was great. Ive been fly fishing over 30 years and have almost no knowledge of bug identification.I fish through trial and error and lots of bug changes lol. I fished a small native stream last weekend and there was a small hatch happening and i had no idea what it was but after watching the video i narrowed it to a quill 🙂 Keep up the great content ill be waiting patiently for the next video!!

I've been flyfishing for nearly 64 years. I found your video thoughtful and very educational, but confusing for someone new to the sport. You also never brought up double tapers. I have fished thoe exclusively all my life with the exception of my 4 wt high lake rod where the WF allows for longer roll casts around the brushy banks. I also have used nail knot and welded loop lines and can go either way. I have both single foot and snake guided rods and have NEVER had a problem with welded loop connections . But to each hisn. Trust your fly shop and you wont go wrong. Learn to cast and like you said CLEAN YOUR LINE!
