In this 1989 song, originally by Natalie Cole, Gigi definitely doesn't need any help from any editing tricks....let's face it, she doesn't need help in many of the songs and genres she picks. In this song, she looks so relaxed and not even exerting much effort, still sounded awesome, as Gigi always have. Always love your tech analysis, amazed at your ability to catch the edits! She sounded funny in the edited parts. Her natural voice is supreme, especially in her stage performances, so it doesn't make sense that the sound engineer would even mess with her voice.

Yes, ALL I ASK pls! Actually this Miss You Like Crazy is a difficult song bc of thr high notes. The thing is, Gigi makes it look so easy. A unique technique that she does is that she can maintain the same tone/placement from low to high. She can do different placements too, but for this one, she chose to keep it the same. It's a rare quality among singers. Most singers will sing this shifting from pure chest to mix chest, to light mix, to headtone, to falsetto. Even Natalie Cole who sang this originally, shifts placement throughout the song. Gigi did this chest from low to high. It's a stylistic choice & both styles sound good. This is not a who is better, I don't do stuff like that. Just pointing out the differences in technique.
I just saw the clip of you singing The Power of Love at the end of the video. You have a great voice. I'm going to check out other of your performances.

I hadn't gotten far enough into the video when I made my first comment to realize that you quickly detected what you call editing, which is really autotune or pitch correction, take your pick in this case. I have to applaud you, as you're the only reviewer of Gigi, or basically any singer, that has taken note of pitch correction (aside from a couple of channels thatb specialize in that). I think if you're reviewing a person's voice, you need to acknowledge what you're listening to, as you have.

Although I have seen more recently live videos where Gigi De Lana sings very well in her natural voice, I was initially turned off to her because her production company completely pitch corrects many of her videos, calling it re-mastering, including this one, which you may not realize. So you're not hearing her real performance, unfortunately. Gigi is amazing and so is the band. There's heavy tuning on all their stuff. Especially the songs that are very unrehearsed requests from their live streams. It is strange to me you still don't really understand when you are watching the unrehearsed songs from the live streams and when you are watching the really well rehearsed songs. You can compare the tuned versions to the untouched versions you often can find online also. It's like night and day. I am surprised you are reacting like this on this one random video when you have missed it on the others? It would be interesting hearing why? I don't think it is that much more obvious on this one. Gigi and the band are not alone in doing this, it is what everybody does nowadays on videos like this. It has become the norm, it is what people expect to hear, when you don't tune things people get uncomfortable hearing real live singing. Get used to it. It is not that interesting to just point it out like this and just complain about it. It would be more interesting to go much deeper into the technical side of how it's done and talk about how to make it less obvious and showing and comparing good/bad ways of doing it on the same material. It is not like you can work in music and refuse to do it. You need to learn how to do it well.
