Hey, Frank! Thank you so much!! Cazuza is legendary! Yes, we would love to watch your reaction on "Codinome Beija-Flor", another great Cazuza's song. He's voice it's amazing. Glad you liked it. Keep on rockin
U got the perfect perception of him as a singer, in my opinion, between 5:19 til 5:48. Your statement that he was speaking the song and being melodic at the same time is very accurate, that is Cazuza.
Take note: Cazuza is a must see, but before his solo career he was the front man of a very successful band (which still exists today) called Barão Vermelho. So, if you want to know about Cazuza you must also search for Barão Vermelho.
React to Barão Vermelho the band in wich he started. Songs: Bete Balanço, Por Você, Amor Meu Grande Amor, Pro Dia Nascer Feliz and Porque A Gente é Assim?
He was our Freddy Mercury in a way. He was our first big star to openly come out as HIV positive. That’s why this song is so iconic, because he was talking about the time and also hypocrisy in Brasil.
Cazuza represents a generation that yearns for freedom. His strength was in his poetry, which was also his way of life. His legacy is in the heart of those who love freedom.
Cazuza was an amazing lyricist, all his songs have life’s big questions mixed with one needs for love/connection always intertwined with a very critical take on Brazilian societally hypocrisies, contradictions etc Sadly, the criticism never gets old. It seems his lyrics are still so fresh and pungent
Some suggestions for you ✌️ Skank - Resposta, Garota Nacional Capital Inicial - Primeiros erros, Não olhe pra trás Legião Urbana - Ainda é cedo, Pais e filhos Angra - Carry on (same singer of Shaman), Shaman - Time will come live Nando Reis - Por onde andei Ney Matogrosso - Belíssima
Cazuza was one of the most intense and important young rebel voices in Brazil during the military regime (1964-1985) censorship and general repression. His songs were frequently about love themes brought together with critics on the regime in a way the censorship agents should not detect and prohibit those distribution (a common practice during that period). This particular song is a perfect example of that mix of love theme and critics, although it was from 1988, after the end of the dictatorship, it still contains those critics on the rotten part of the society, the rich, bourgeoisie and politicians.
Cazuza was part of one of the greatest rock bands in Brazil: Barão Vermelho. You should check Pro Dia Nascer Feliz by Barão Vermelho. His voice is more powerfull and the song is bluesier.
Even though he was sick he sang until his last breath of life, while he managed to stand up he sang divinely, and a pity that the great always die so early.
Cazuza was a visionary, a force of nature, he broke all paradigms with his lyrics, he was a rebel and also a poet. There is a brazilian film about his life featuring many of his songs called: "Cazuza - O tempo não pára" It´s an amazing film!
Hi! The translation is not the same... this music is a wonderful poetry about the time running, about short life time he has, because he discoverd he was sick. He also talk about the midia that explore all the situation, distorcing the news to get more money and audience over his tradegy. Is really a special song...
Man, I love the way you are trying to read the lyrics even if it's hard to find in english...You can always ask us to translate something for you my friend!
this performance is really powerful, he was already sick then, it's so sad. But there are other recordings where his vocal performance is not hindered by that terrible virus.
Argentinian band 'Bersuit Vergarabat' did a cover of this song called 'El tiempo no para'. They adapted the lyrics to fit the situation of the country. It is a really popular song and many people are not aware of the fact that it is a cover from this song.
Ney Matogrosso (from secos e molhados) and Cazuza had a relationship back then... before Cazuza died sick of aids...; Ney sang many of Cazuza's songs also, in live versions, if you feel like hearing them... including this one (o tempo não para), for instance
Time Doesn't Stop I shoot against the sun I’m strong, I’m by accident My machine gun full of pain I’m the guy Tired of running The wrong way Without podium or girlfriend kiss I’m another guy But if you think I’m defeated Notice that the dices are still rolling Because time, time doesn't stop Every other day I'm surviving with no scratch Of the charity from those who hate me Your swimming pool is full of rats Your ideas don't match with the facts Time doesn't stop I see the future repeating the past I see a museum full of big news Time doesn't stop No, I doesn't stop I don’t have a day to celebrate Sometimes my days pass by in pairs Looking for a needle in a haystack In cold nights it's better not to be born In hot ones, you choose: kill or die And this way we become Brazilians They call you thief, fag, pothead Turn the whole country into a brothel Because it makes more money Your swimming pool is full of rats Your ideas don't match with the facts Time doesn't stop

Mega Thumbs up!!!! Cazuza was the voice of a generation. A prolific poet and singer who made a lot of stuff during his short life. At the time of this concert, he was to close to death. U can find a lot o touching lyric songs from him. Here are some: Preciso Dizer queue te Amo; Faz Parte do Meu Show; Vida Louca, Vida, Codinome Beija-flor O Nosso Amor a Gente Inventa; Bete Balanço; Brasil; Ideologia; Exagerado....
Cazuza was a great poet. Another one who died too young, unfortunately. He sings: "Your swiming pool is plenty of rats, your ideas don't correspond to the facts... time doen't stop!"

Hey Frank, thanks for all those videos! I'm loving watching it. Here's an artist you should react to: Gal Costa. She's friend of Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia and Gilberto Gil. This song "Vapor Barato" recorded live from her concert in the 70s is so strong and you can really feel her feelings during Brazilian dictatorship. At this time, Caetano Veloso was in England living exiled: th-cam.com/video/0VkT_qOyYmg/w-d-xo.html Meu nome é Gal is a playful song showing all her vocal range while she "competes" with an electric guitar: th-cam.com/video/8KHtYIL7_-Q/w-d-xo.html
Time Does not Stop (Arnaldo Brandão & Cazuza Released in 1988 ... and still Brazil hasn't changed a bit ... or rather, it only got worst ... Shooting against the Sun I feel strong, but just by chance My machine gun is loaded with griefs And I’m just a guy … tired of running in the opposite direction No podium position or a girlfriend’s kiss … I’m just another guy But if you really think I’m beaten You’d better know the dice are still rolling Because time, time doesn’t stop Every other day I manage to survive without a scratch Out of the charity of those who hate me Your swimming pool is full of rats, Your ideas don’t match the facts And time doesn’t stop All I see is the future repeating the past I see a museum full of novelties And time, time doesn’t stop I have no special date to celebrate And sometimes my days are wide open Feels like looking for a needle in a haystack On those cold night, you feel it’d be better if you were never born On hot days, you must choose: either to kill or to die And like that we become Brazilians And they call you a ‘thief’, a ‘fag’, a ‘pothead’ Yet they are the ones turning the whole country into a filthy whorehouse … so they can make more money …

That's the magic of the music. Even not knowing about the circumstances you got the right felling. The music is about the time, he got AIDS... At that time AIDS was like a death sentence, by appointment. His time was getting lower and lower, like a hourglass. So the music is about the melting of time, a desperate and real end of life.

Time Doesn't Stop was released in the year 1988.
Cazuza's penultimate album and his only live album.
Sugiro uma banda chamada "14 bis". Puro bom gosto!
Yes Cazuza! Forever our poet, he's amazing you should listen to some more of him...also Engenheiros do Hawaii and Los Hermanos...
Cazuza was an amazing lyricist, all his songs have life’s big questions mixed with one needs for love/connection always intertwined with a very critical take on Brazilian societally hypocrisies, contradictions etc
Sadly, the criticism never gets old. It seems his lyrics are still so fresh and pungent
Some suggestions for you ✌️
Skank - Resposta, Garota Nacional
Capital Inicial - Primeiros erros, Não olhe pra trás
Legião Urbana - Ainda é cedo, Pais e filhos
Angra - Carry on (same singer of Shaman), Shaman - Time will come live
Nando Reis - Por onde andei
Ney Matogrosso - Belíssima
O Poeta Maldito!! Grande Cazuza
frank, a good music translator is www.vagalume.com.br from portuguese to english and already comes with sound and video! ok?
CAZUZA mito!!! Eterno poeta
Cazuza was great with lyrics early 90's, die too young.
Cazuza um revolucionário poucos sabiam disso infelizmente, gênio indomavel
Even though he was sick he sang until his last breath of life, while he managed to stand up he sang divinely, and a pity that the great always die so early.
Cazuza was a visionary, a force of nature, he broke all paradigms with his lyrics, he was a rebel and also a poet. There is a brazilian film about his life featuring many of his songs called: "Cazuza - O tempo não pára" It´s an amazing film!
Valeu vc estar aprendendo o nosso português. Valeu....
Hi! The translation is not the same... this music is a wonderful poetry about the time running, about short life time he has, because he discoverd he was sick. He also talk about the midia that explore all the situation, distorcing the news to get more money and audience over his tradegy. Is really a special song...
I feel like im revisiting my past with your channel, thanks alot for doing what you do
Man, I love the way you are trying to read the lyrics even if it's hard to find in english...You can always ask us to translate something for you my friend!
"Eu vejo o futuro repetir o passado
Eu vejo um museu de grandes novidades" 🎶🎶🎶
Ouça Edson Cordeiro "Naturtrene " , "coming" e "A rainha da noite".
That's a really emotional song. Anger, sorrow, polictical criticism.
this performance is really powerful, he was already sick then, it's so sad. But there are other recordings where his vocal performance is not hindered by that terrible virus.
We need urgently another talent like Cazuza.
Plebe Rude: "Até quando esperar"
Aí sim, finalmente, grande artista!
Um dos maiores artistas do Brasil e só a minha opinião importa
Argentinian band 'Bersuit Vergarabat' did a cover of this song called 'El tiempo no para'. They adapted the lyrics to fit the situation of the country. It is a really popular song and many people are not aware of the fact that it is a cover from this song.
LOVE Cazuza! You should watch his movie!
Ney Matogrosso (from secos e molhados) and Cazuza had a relationship back then... before Cazuza died sick of aids...; Ney sang many of Cazuza's songs also, in live versions, if you feel like hearing them... including this one (o tempo não para), for instance
Thanks Frank for react vídeos with some brazilian bands! God bless you , good job !
Aqui é BR, onde a poesia não morre, através dela contamos nossa história.
It was released in 1988. One of the extraordinary poets from my generation. Still relevant today.
Time Doesn't Stop
I shoot against the sun
I’m strong, I’m by accident
My machine gun full of pain
I’m the guy
Tired of running
The wrong way
Without podium or girlfriend kiss
I’m another guy
But if you think
I’m defeated
Notice that the dices are still rolling
Because time, time doesn't stop
Every other day
I'm surviving with no scratch
Of the charity from those who hate me
Your swimming pool is full of rats
Your ideas don't match with the facts
Time doesn't stop
I see the future repeating the past
I see a museum full of big news
Time doesn't stop
No, I doesn't stop
I don’t have a day to celebrate
Sometimes my days pass by in pairs
Looking for a needle in a haystack
In cold nights it's better not to be born
In hot ones, you choose: kill or die
And this way we become Brazilians
They call you thief, fag, pothead
Turn the whole country into a brothel
Because it makes more money
Your swimming pool is full of rats
Your ideas don't match with the facts
Time doesn't stop

What a coincidence, I watched his movie yesterday and it has the name of this song
This is the best song of Cazuza, maybe the best song of brazilian rock.
React the songs of Titãs, my favorite brazilian rock band.
He reminds me of the ppl of the friends I lost from Aids in the 80s. Sad. RIP. I like this song it was good. Especially the sax. Glad u r well Frank 🙏☕💕Much love- 🙋🏻♀️🤧
Eu vejo o futuro repetir o passado!!
Cazuza - Ideologia, that's one of his best hit!
Grande e saudoso Cazuza!
In Argentina, a group called Bersuit Bergarabat made a version if this song
Esse foi o avesso dessa babaquice toda de hoje! Cazuza pra sempre!!!
Mega Thumbs up!!!! Cazuza was the voice of a generation. A prolific poet and singer who made a lot of stuff during his short life. At the time of this concert, he was to close to death. U can find a lot o touching lyric songs from him. Here are some:
Preciso Dizer queue te Amo;
Faz Parte do Meu Show;
Vida Louca, Vida,
Codinome Beija-flor
O Nosso Amor a Gente Inventa;
Bete Balanço;
Brasil;
Ideologia;
Exagerado....
you jumped the best part of the song...the guitar solo in the middle on this review but we love your comments! LOL... Bravo from Brasil!
Cazuza was a great poet. Another one who died too young, unfortunately. He sings: "Your swiming pool is plenty of rats, your ideas don't correspond to the facts... time doen't stop!"

Check out the lyrics properly translated:
Shooting the Sun I'm strong, I'm by chance
My machine gun full of sorrows
I'm a guy
Tired of running In the opposite direction No arrival podium or girlfriend kiss I'm more of a guy
But, if you find That I'm defeated Know that the dice are still rolling Because time, time doesn't stop
Every other day I'll survive without a scratch Of the charity of those who hate me
Your pool is full of rats Your ideas don't match the facts
Time does not stop
I see the future repeat the past I see a museum of great news
Time does not stop
No, no, no, no
I don't have a date to celebrate Sometimes my days are wide open Looking for needle in a haystack
On cold nights it's better not even to be born In heat, you choose: It's kill or die
And so we became Brazilians
They call you a thief, a fag, a pothead
They turn the whole country into a whorehouse
So you get more money
Your pool is full of rats Your ideas don't match the facts
Time does not stop
I see the future repeat the past I see a museum of great news
Time does not stop
No, no, no, no
Every other day I'll survive without a scratch Of the charity of those who hate me
Your pool is full of rats
Your ideas don't match the facts
No, time doesn't stop
I see the future repeat the past I see a museum of great news
Time does not stop
No, no, no, no, no,
Hey Frank, thanks for all those videos!
At this time, Caetano Veloso was in England living exiled:

Meu nome é Gal is a playful song showing all her vocal range while she "competes" with an electric guitar:

Time Does not Stop
(Arnaldo Brandão & Cazuza
Released in 1988 ... and still Brazil hasn't changed a bit ... or rather, it only got worst ...
Shooting against the Sun
I feel strong, but just by chance
My machine gun is loaded with griefs
And I’m just a guy … tired of running in the opposite direction
No podium position or a girlfriend’s kiss … I’m just another guy
But if you really think I’m beaten
You’d better know the dice are still rolling
Because time, time doesn’t stop
Every other day I manage to survive without a scratch
Out of the charity of those who hate me
Your swimming pool is full of rats,
Your ideas don’t match the facts
And time doesn’t stop
All I see is the future repeating the past
I see a museum full of novelties
And time, time doesn’t stop
I have no special date to celebrate
And sometimes my days are wide open
Feels like looking for a needle in a haystack
On those cold night, you feel it’d be better if you were never born
On hot days, you must choose: either to kill or to die
And like that we become Brazilians
And they call you a ‘thief’, a ‘fag’, a ‘pothead’
Yet they are the ones turning the whole country into a filthy whorehouse … so they can make more money …
