    what i learned about slender is he's based off a germanic folk lore character named the großman/grossman the tall man who haunts the black forest in germany who kidnaps bad children unless they confess their wrong doings

    We were obviously more gullible and unexperienced with the internet and many forms of media in general, now as grown-ups with much more rationality and accessibility to know of the context of anything, our subconscious almost instantly takes away the horror and mysticism we once felt as children
    Edit: 13:38 Yeah, Herobrine wasn't visually that scary, but, if you venture in more into the rabbit hole, you'll find out that Herobrine is actually a different take of another less known creepypasta that predates Herobrine, know as White Eyes, as its name says it had pure white eyes, a head and torso of a player, but the rest of its body was of a spider or at least similar to one, and all of its body except the eyes had a purely black texture
