I think chivas regal is one of the most liked scotch because of the taste It's not cordial/ sugar/ lolly water but no petrol /firey /acid I think chivas is not too weak but not too strong tasting It's very balanced Some other scotch whiskys are weaker and some others are stronger Chivas taste just right
In my humble opinion SingleMaltTv, I think it is time for Chivas to come out with the 15 year old variant. There was one occasion that the 15 year old came out for a limited release years ago. But for Chivas to remain competitive, I believe there should be a regular non limited production of the Chivas Regal 15 year old. Its about time.
shaun beare it doesn't lower alcohol content, merely extends its length while complimenting the smells and taste. If one uses the correct ratio around 1:0.3 maybe 2 ice cubes stirred into itself using a dash of water to speed up the melting. The whole name Cocktail came from as time when one was hard pressed to find anything but whisky, sugar and water. So bartenders figured out the correct ways to serve whisky which is why we have started to use solid ice cubes and then cut them down to fit the glass so they do not meet with alcohol
I know this comment was posted 8 years ago, but I want to correct Bryn above me. A splash of room temperature water does delute the whisky so the alcohol is less strong and the flavours open up more so you can taste and analyse the whisky better. Don't use ice cubes, they dilute the whisky way to much. You won't be able to taste as much
Absolutely. Any whisky that is not cask strength has been diluted with water before bottling to reduce the alcohol content (40% for a large number of whisky). In the cask, it’s much stronger. Some are over 60% alcohol/volume.
Absolutely. I drink whiskey neat, a whole bottle every evening. But I make sure I drink 70cl of water at the end of the night. This way my bottle of whiskey goes down to 20% alcohol, which means I have only drunk half a bottle in terms of alcohol.
Not Special, But A Good Blend. For This One, I Believe You Must Add Water, But Not The 18, 21 R.S., 25, 100 C.S. 38, and 50 year Old. Someone Should Be Stunned by A Type II Phaser, If They ruin the 50 year old with water. And That Is Not A Hyperbolic Statement!!!!!!!
Smell and taste are separate senses yes, however they do have a lot in common. They both analyze molecules entering the body from the outside world and screen out harmful threats, and together maximize appreciation of food and drink hence in this example why he appreciates the whisky just as much as if he took a sip from it.
Well as far as I can see the comment about colour is about as much as you can expect from one of these whisky spruikers given it is artificially coloured with caramel. Something the swine won't tell you on the label.

Bro lets be serious no one likes chivas, that shit sucks. Ofc he is going to avoid drinking as much as he can.
ICK! Watered down, blended Scotch. MIght as well just drink water.
Yea Ballocoke, what do you disagree about?
Not a fan of this.......not at all. It is at the cheaper end of blended whiskys and it tastes like it, something I'm not alone on.
Not to everyone's taste...but plenty of alternatives to satisfy every palate. Thanks for the comment
