    CLARIFICATION- Tom was showing the deluxe version, where it adds 2 players and has upgraded components. The retail is 6

    Played this at Dice Tower West. Super fun fast easy-going game with super cute art. After one play I knew I wanted it and the expansion "Back for Seconds" looks to give more of a good thing.

    I have the deluxe version of this game. This is one of my most favorite games of all time. The negotiations are awesome!!! I don’t see how you could really play with more than 5 players. I showed this game to my friends, and now my game group has 3 copies of it.

      Is it good at 2 players?

    • @rikhavok
      @rikhavok 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Sheriff_K you CAN play it two player. But it really is best with 4-5. And ok at 3. I probably wouldn’t play it at 2.

    I have introduced a dozen or so people to this game and have not found a single person who doesn't like it. I played it with 6 people and it was chaos but super fun. There is a lot of trust involved in this game but if you are playing with people you trust you'll love this game. Can't wait for the expansion to come out!

    i am SOOOO excited for this game!! I watch almost all of you guy's videos but I have to restrain myself from watching this one any further. Even though my copy will (hopefully) arrive this November! Can't wait to play it, so no spoilers for this guy!

  • @nathansutterfield
    @nathansutterfield 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I found that it is actually better with me people because the action cards are getting played by everyone. So they don't seem overpowered. And it is a lot more chaotic which is the point of the game.

    I got to play this at Dice Tower West, and it was a blast! Normally, I’m not one for chaotic games like this either, but this one managed to be fun, engaging, and full of interesting decisions and interactions.

    Looks fun. I like the variety of all the foods/cuisines they include. Given that this is a family weight game I feel like it would introduce a lot of kids and younger people to different cultures they may have otherwise not been exposed to.

    For what it’s worth, we have enjoyed it a lot. Played it 3 and 4 players. It doesn’t take itself seriously and neither should we. Have fun with it. You’ll have a blast.

    For players that try to get the same ingredient, I think I’m going to add in a d20. Whoever rolls higher gets to buy the item. The other player can choose another item to buy in the market.
    I think it’ll smooth it out as this game is already hectic given all that’s going on.

  • @IzzyDave
    @IzzyDave 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tom said, "If you draw Chocolate on your first turn" but the setup rules say you start with one of every ingredient except the Mystery Mart

    • @gapclosergames13
      @gapclosergames13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're right :) You don't draw a mystery mart ingredient to start the game (only the other 5 markets)

    • @IzzyDave

      I backed this simply because I enjoy cooking and thought we might enjoy it, and I was right. My family loved it, my friends loved it, I played it with 2, 5 and 8 players. I think it's best with more because there is more people to negotiate with.

      @@IzzyDave I'm a chef and I'm also a boardgame nerd. A buddy of mine recommended me this kickstarter and after seeing a couple videos, reviews, and playthroughs from the first game and seeing what they added with the 2nd edition + expansion, this was an absolute must have for me!

    Everyone I've played this game with loved it. However, with everyone taking their turns at the same time it's easy for people to cheat and not pay the full cost of an ingredient or paying the correct price of getting rid of trash. To prevent this we suggested that we each pay for our ingredients and auction off one at a time and then spend a minute doing the rest. Also, the quality of the dials were not very good and they were too wobbly. Too often you'd pick a spot and when you flipped it over it had turned to a different location and you were left trying to convince everyone that, "This isn't what I picked". But other than that we really enjoy this game and it's in our game night rotation

    I'm getting annoyed with The Dice Tower reviewing deluxe editions that they've been given by the developers and not mentioning it. I bought the Everdell Pearlbrook expansion based on their review and when I got it I was disappointed in the components because it turns out they were showing the deluxe edition. This is actually a pretty scummy trend from you guys Tom.

    • @thedicetower
      @thedicetower  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      This isn't deliberate! Sometimes we just don't realize we have the "deluxe" edition. If I have the chance, I'll always ask a company to send me the most normal version of the game. Afterwards, if I like it enough to add it to the Dice Tower library, I'll try to get the deluxe version. Sorry for the confusion!

    • @britishbattleborn
      @britishbattleborn 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@thedicetower It may not be deliberate but I feel it's lazy from you to not find out, and it's BS from the game companies to send you something that's all pimped out and looks great for the video review, all the while knowing that it's not the product that most people are going to see when they buy it. The top comment of these reviews shouldn't be people pointing out these misleading mistakes.

    Wow, this game was the most boring experience on the last Con I went to. I played it and after the third round I was just hoping for it to end in any possible way. For me and the other players at the table it felt lame, boring and samey. No desire to ever play it again.
