@Karine Alourde You did an excellent commentary story on Black American actress Pam Grier. Thank you. Also during that era of Black exploitation films another Black American beautiful actress was Tamara Dobson famous for her role as "Cleopatra Jones" who also was a fashion model born in my own hometown of Baltimore MD. Unfortunately she passed away at an early age of 59. ( Not sure if you cover her story already or not ) But I remember growing up that Pam Grier and Tamara Dobson was known as our black kick ass action female heroes. My parents was always talking about these two beautiful actress.
She's a warrior and was way ahead of her time. Thought she was fantastic in Foxy Brown. Looking forward to a biopic on her. Thanks, Karine, for this in-depth look at the iconic Pam Grier!
I don’t want to make it a race thing, but I’m actually surprised about how beautiful Black women, such as *Pam Grier* and *Megan The Stallion* , get ridiculed for being tall. But when it’s a beautiful White woman, such as *Brooke Shields* and *Adriana Lima* and *Nicole Kidman* , (whom are taller than them), they are consider goddesses and perfection 🙄
@Dumfries Spearhead white men, black men, Asian men...so pretty much men! Black women's beauty has been called "too masculine/manly" for centuries atp. The hate of statuesque black women even goes to the extent that bio females are routinely accused of being trans women as an insult (even though black trans women can be absolutely stunning too!). I have personally witnessed Michelle Obama (even though she has 2 children) and Meg Thee Stallion being called trans online. It's disgusting and disheartening that we're STILL dealing with misogynoir in 2023 😢
Yep! Color is a reason too! Neither of the 2 women mentioned (Pam or Megan) are light complected either. It's a race and color thing (even tho technically colorism is an extension of race/racism). edit: ooohhhh Megan could be a good Pam Grier contender in a biopic 🥰.
You might mean Meg thee stallion or Tocarra Jones could play Pam Grier as a young adult during her movie career. Pam Grier didn't have any children nor got married. As the end of Karine Alourde video says at the end of her video on Pam Grier.

He was also trying to make friends with me & we did ...perhaps before this exact time with Jackie..but it wasn't long before he left earth, a while after he and i rendezvoued at the Beverly Wilshire where I was staying, having flown in from Hawaii...both times. I don't how he found me. . He was very nice to me,, tho I treated him just as a friend. He'd chase me around, kept teasing me to pay attention to him....he was pretty sweet and kind...and fun loving, very playful with me. Trying to get me to go out with him ...maybe if I had..he would have cheered up and not up and leave us all. I was soooo sad. The world benefited in some good way by his existence here...and I miss him too. He was a Good Man. Happens I was with someone else at the time and I dont 2-time anyone, ever. So it was quite impossible.
So beautiful..we both named Pam and both Gemini ♊️ ❤
I wish Pam Grier knew her worth she didn’t need to be with those kind of dusty guys
The assaults are the reason she didn't know her worth.
I dont care where I go and what state I'm in....Ppl always always walk up to me and say"Have you ever been told you look like ( I finish it)Pam Grier" They say oh my gosh yessss! Im like ALMOST DAILY! I don't see it at all! But I guess if your stopped and told this frequently,It must have some truth! I love this segment about her life so detailed! Beautiful and talented!!
She filmed a pretty popular movie in the city I was born . It was interesting time traveling to see the city (so to speak).
I love Pam Grier ❤ she is such an icon she’s the reason why I put razor blades in my hair 😅 you never know when you need them. and I do remember Richard Pryor being on drugs so bad it was inside her 😢crazy
I was literally telling a friend about this yesterday.
New sub. Quick note..... BLKS weren't "exploited" in the days of BLK 1970's movies. That "blackploitation" term was a negative misnomer. BLKS were shown for the first time as heroes and in positive roles.
When they stopped making the BLK movies of the 1970"s, we're back to the stereotypes, buffoonery etc.
Omg my uncles had her picture everywhere when I was younger.❤
I love Coffy , Foxy Brown and Jackie Brown. Pam is awesome!
Smiling like an angel before drawing the gun out... What a classic!
Coffee was my favorite of hers. Did you know she was Rosey Grier‘s niece? I heard recently that she is become a minister
