    To put it simply, car makers remove buttons and switches because (A) the part cost and (B) the digital integration cost and (C) the physical labour cost and wiring.
    It's not about improvement, it's about a race to the bottom in price. Either to improve profit margins or to increase market share
    A digital button is free as you've already fitted the screen. A "low hanging fruit" I'm sure a capitalist would say
    I only feel sorry for the designers as they take the flak for the bean counters. The irony is they're on our side and love physical buttons too but they need to keep their jobs!

      Good point to be honest..... I still prefer touch-buttons..... At least u get to feel what you're touching...... Whereas for screens or big screens..... Sometimes they do lag a bit..... Lastly it can be too bright when you are driving at night.... So it can be very distracting.
