- July 28-Aug. 8, 1993, Basildon, England. 1:10 offroad electric buggy, 2WD, 4WD. Includes Masami Hirosaka, Rick Hohwart, Scott Hughes, Mike Reedy, Matt Francis, Cliff Lett, Brian Kinwald, Mark Pavidis, Craig Drescher, Curtis Husting.
This race was more fun to watch than most new races. Actual off roading. Rough, unpredictable terrain, the way it should be.
I remember reading about this race in RC Car Action. Was the first time I heard the name Brain Kinwald but not the last. RIP Brian.
Good times, proper DIRT tracks, no astroturf or clay bullshit.
Two World Championships with two different teams. Sign of class. Never forgotten Brian.
Best years of rc
Wow... I had a XX w/Hydra-Drive! Brings back such great memories. Love these videos
I was sporting a jrx2 lol
The Losi XX was my first real race buggy back in the day. I loved that hydra drive, too bad it doesn’t exist anymore.
@@therctutor8100 lots of them on ebay
Must have been a cold July/August all those jumpers lol! But never the less this was the golden era of RC Racing in my eyes. R.I.P Brian.
nice vids!!
This video is a RC-Nerd-Gold-Nugget !
It was a big rc scandal when Brian left from Associated and goes to Losi! I hope all these guys to have keep Brian's autographs are very collectable!!
RIP Brian 😢 You was a great rc driver !
Wow. Cliff Lett, Joel Johnson and Mark Pavidis. Kinwald would have been 20 years old in 1993...he looks like he's 12.
The young Brian RIP
2015 short course is an cool race.
RIP Brian Kinwald
Talk about the pits of RC!... I can't believe how many people were working on, adjusting and maintaining all those RC cars at once like that! And this was not even the peak year of RC was it?
RIP Brian Kinwald. Lead rc development in tires and more and also led the pck.
R.I.P my dear hero.
Rememba da good Time ‼️👍🏾
The attention to detail here... we just dont do this these days.
Nonsense! You have no clue about r/c racing! The attention to detail is even more crazy nowadays.
@AsurasWrath164 ha ok.
The Yanks completely dominated this event.
CLASSIC race from the turn martials to the drivers stand, from the pit area to the stands, CLASSIC!
I love this video, thanks for the upload! How can I get ahold of one of those Hydra transmissions? I have a couple old RC10s but I stripped the transmission in one a while ago. Or any trany would help.
What??? Hydra transmission is just your losi XX tranny.
What year was the peak year of RC? I'm sure it wasn't 93 but this video makes me question if it was!
I have no ideas what the peak year was, but I 'm sure it will be different for each individual who participated, whether as a racer, race volunteer, or spectator. The most important thing is to cherish your own best memories.
Peter Winton on the mic
I only had a hornet, and never got to race.. But is a track like this, with less jumps and air time to today's tracks, easier to race side by side?
Harder, the bumps are the hardest part of off-road. Jumps have their own challenge/skill requirements, but ruts/bumps are tougher.
I'll be snoozing too....lol
Derpderpderp, McDonalds.....
Gotta be honest, this track is extremely boring. There are only two jumps?.... Thanks for the coverage
This was a good track for that time. You couldnt send em like you can now. Back then they were so fragile and even the double sided tape couldnt hold the electronics down on hard landings.
