Must have been a cold July/August all those jumpers lol! But never the less this was the golden era of RC Racing in my eyes. R.I.P Brian.
Thanks for seing some vintage HPI touring car bodies :-) Ps: Yokomo stand looked little pale side by side with HPI Hello Scotty
they were flying high in the end at the supercross, wow, must have been high speed
thanks so much for these memories to Europe where so many collectors cherish these cars
Lazer ZX-R was in the house
Atsushi Hara 2000 world champion 1:10 modified electric rc cars.
Brian Kinwald. Legend
RIP Brian Kinwald
I have all the drivers autographs from that race including Gene Husting :)
That's amazing!
@@genehustingrcvideos4118 Thank you. Ebay find :)
Why does the results screen say "RC10 B2" for the Associated drivers, but simply "Losi" for the Losi drivers instead of "XX"?
That's my dad's subtle way of promoting Team Associated's winning products over the competition.
2015 short course is an cool race.
2014 short course is extremely awesome.
This os offroad and not Gothenburg Sweden.
It is so funny, fir years I thought Tamiyas win in 2002 was the FIRST ISTC Worlds! I forgot about a young Hara in 2000 for Yokomo! And these are 7 and 8 turn mods with 2400 ni-cads, I would honestly say I don't think they are as fast as 17.5 blinky with modern stick lipos. And if its a 17.5 with timing, forget it! This looks closer to 21.5 blinky with a modern TC. Ah the bad old days! Still the racing was great!
Total class @ 11:14
some dirty driving in the first race
I can't believe I found a video of this I remember reading about this in RC car accident when I was a kid and just being like are you serious 111mi an hour!!!😊 I Won a lot of races at Ripon RC speedway with the RC 10 TC3 car in the HPI RS4 pro😊😊 I still have a body that Mike reedy autographed for me at the reedy Nationals🎉
When rc racing was real racing.
All this needs to take me back to those days is charger going off playing Fur Elise when they are done.
Brian Kinwald "The Legend", cheating to win ! ! ! at 5:36. What a DECEPTION !. Definitely this *IS NO THE WAT TO GO* for a Champion like him !. The whistles from the audience are *VERY WELL DESERVED*
Good times, proper DIRT tracks, no astroturf or clay bullshit.
What an absolute treat this is. I was super competitive from like 1988 to 1996. Loved seeing Cliff Lett. They used to call me Ted Lett. So cool that Cliff has been running Associated this whole time.
It was a big rc scandal when Brian left from Associated and goes to Losi! I hope all these guys to have keep Brian's autographs are very collectable!! RIP Brian 😢 You was a great rc driver !
23 yrs ago i feel real old lol.
This was selected as a Nats track?? Jeez. Seems like a club race. And that announcer is so dynamic 🙄
The attention to detail here... we just dont do this these days.
R.I.P my dear hero.
Gene you are the man
This was at a time when beating Kinwald straight up was considered an upset
These guys running 30 year old tech can probably still beat me
I wish someone would design a track like this for 10th scale here in the states. They did a start like this for the Visions race and it was pretty cool
I'd love to see this brought back at Lake Park
David Spashett, the only man to win 3 world championships in one meeting (even though TC was a World Cup for that occasion)
A truck world cup now would be stock, mod, 2wd short course and 8th truggy
2023 will be the third time the Worlds are hosted in America and not hosted in California
The Yanks completely dominated this event.
The good days
Photo @ 8:30 wins the internet for the day.
Awesome racing 🏁🏆🏎️ love this hobby
I was in one of these shots. 😎
What’s your name?
@@dronepro7316 Jarrod mcknelly.
You're real name.
I think this was the closest Masami came to being the only driver to win every electric world championship offered at the time (they've since added F1)
i used to run on this track with HPI nitro RS4.
Man rc used to be so awesome. This stuff has changed so much now and not for the good. Watching these old videos makes me want to return to the good old days of rc before everything went metric and mid motor.
whats wrong with metric?
@@johntuffy5721 what's wrong with 4-40?
@@johntuffy5721 This is an easy answer. For the screws the metric threads are too small and strip out too easily in nylon.
Who were the two with multiple passes for the lead?
Gotta be honest, this track is extremely boring. There are only two jumps?.... Thanks for the coverage
This was a good track for that time. You couldnt send em like you can now. Back then they were so fragile and even the double sided tape couldnt hold the electronics down on hard landings.
@@joesudek5595 BS
@@stuwest3653 FR
I still call it servo tape
Did the beige Ford Ranger ever get moved? :P
I only had a hornet, and never got to race.. But is a track like this, with less jumps and air time to today's tracks, easier to race side by side?
Harder, the bumps are the hardest part of off-road. Jumps have their own challenge/skill requirements, but ruts/bumps are tougher.
Kevin Jelich and Joel Johnson...I used to race with those guys in NORCAL in the 90's!!
Was this the year the first rc brushless motor broke the record?
This race was more fun to watch than most new races. Actual off roading. Rough, unpredictable terrain, the way it should be.
