As a Dragunov main from Tekken 7 (haven't played 8 yet), these quick tips would help you against a lot of Dragunov players for sure. I myself play Drag less aggressively and instead focus more on punishing whiffs, and using a few tracking moves to compensate for the linearity of Drag. I love to use a bunch of different throws while learning my opponent's rhythm to use his parries. Here's a small list of things to watch for but take with a grain of salt since I haven't played 8 yet: -He has a generic parry that works against most highs and mids, automatically goes into a command grab -Secondary low parry that evades highs and goes into a grab when timed right against a low -His sweep: hits low and goes into a command grab on counter hit when close. (I think they may have changed the effect on counter hit) -It can also be cancelled into a dedicated low grab so be careful. -Best to either hit mid or low to interrupt because it's slow. You could also block the low hit or stand to avoid the low grab but that's more tricky. -His dashing 2: Can be cancelled into a standing grab (I think the break is 1+2) -2 extra standing grabs (f + 2+3) (f + 1+4): Come out a little faster, less range, a little extra damage. -He has a low grab like King -A mixup string that you might not see very often: 2, 1, 3 (can't remember all the hits but standing guard is fine), but can mixup into 2, 1, 4 which hits low on the last hit. Both weak against sidestepping since it's pretty linear. - I hear he can no longer go into a tackle while standing without using a string in T8
@@Geheimnis-c2e Idk, when I played Drag I had trouble against people who know how to sidestep so I had to figure out how to play around it in T7 by using more tracking and sidestep crushing moves. Then again I wasn’t amazing at the game so it is possible that I’m missing stuff despite watching the same video lol.
That’s why Tekken is a difficult game which scares away many new players. You need to understand the moves of all characters, not just those you main. 😅
i would argue that you can get simple notes like this on the top 5 chosen characters and be just fine. i reached purple without researching any machups at all. just now am i doing it, cause i feel it would behoove me if i wanna get past purple.
This is good entry level advice, but he’s a menace. I know exactly how to beat him and struggle. My game plan is out offense them so I don’t have to play any defense lol
Pretty decent guide i suppose. When u have people side step alot i just switch up the moves i use. I just start using tracking moves or moves with some tracking built in like b 1,2 and db 2,1,2(i think that's the input)
one important point is that when you dont break the uf 1+2 grab you need to stay on the ground. Drag got a garantied b4 of it. If you stand up he gets b4, 3 into heat
If you find yourself getting blown up all of the time by long range moves or strings, it's most likely because you don't realize how good side stepping is. Never forget it's a 3D game. Practically any move that isn't hard coded as a tracking move can be evaded by some means.
Can be easily negated midscreen by blocking qcf4 and then sidewalk left. Beats every option due to the pushback (except crouch cancel b3 but that’s a massive callout by the dragunov).
Kinda inaccurate. You SWL if he does WR2 from range 3 and beyond. SSR and you'll get clipped. In fact most of his moves from range 2 and lower can be SSR. But it's at range 3 is when you have to SWL.
No, half dragunov players run from 5km away and u can sidewalk his asses, for the people that actually do the iwr2, you have to figure out their pressure and timings in order to sidestep him
@@tabkg5802 I think he's most likely top 1. No downplaying. But people complain too much. Learn the matchup and get good. No one SSR against me and I'll continue to abuse the shit outta that
dragunov : *breath
me : SIDESTEP RIGHT
On point. Straight to tackling pressure move. What more can I say. Bravo my dude
Thanks man! Now I know what people will try to do when I play Dragunov
Solid advice man! I really struggle against Drag I’m gonna go into practice when I hop on and train this
Glad it helped, good luck with your training!

Man...wait till you play with your boy in t8. He's a nightmare. Top 3 for sure..he gatekeep me out of purple😂
he's definitely not linear in this game bro lmao he tracks a fuckton of stuff

This video just help me hit Fujin rank 😂 Thanks a ton for SSR defense!
Congrats on getting Fujin,! That rank is no joke
Very nice short guide,thx!

exactly, I like when people sidestep simply because I play with drag, I don't even play him that way lol
@@ereisfireboi yeah that would also help if you play him unorthodox

Goated Channel! Just checked all other videos and subscribed❤
Do lidia next❤
What about his command grab when he is crawling on the ground ? It’s an important aspect you didn’t mention
I need help on that 😅
needed to start learning matchups, thanks man
Which characters do you guys want for another 3 min counter guide?
Yoshi
and reina
All the spammy female characters
Jun and Feng 😂
Xiaoyu
can u tell me the company/model of your hitbox controller?
As a former dragunov main, i approve of this video
After the 1+2 grab you can wake up with up and then back to block and punish the d/f+2
True, but Dragunov’s started using b4 right after the grab which is guaranteed unless you tech roll left
B4 is guaranteed after the grab no matter what
Cannot believe how broken this character is. What a straight up joke
Wow that was so helpful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ u got loyal subscriber
Thanks coach you're a life saver
Any time
oh god, that sneak attack, i thought it was a natural string.
Luckily it isnt
In online, the side steps don't seem to work due to netcode.
I just reached god rank thanks to this thanks 🎉
Appreciate it
Can you not side step left? Every time I try to sidestep right I end up just teabagging my opponent
Great and to the point ❤
Thank you!
more anti-character videos pls.. u got a new sub
Thanks, more anti-character guides are coming soon
I am now promoted to 3rd dan after watching this video.
After grab 1+2 rol forward to Avoid all.
Very helpful
can you make an eddy?
Can you do vids about how to demolish king, reina and yoshi?
Reina/King DONE ✅

You can step qc4 but if he does qcf2 it tracks and launch you... so there is no easy way out of this mixup unfortunately.

So many fucking plus frames 😂
Isn’t WR2 avoided by side walking left?
It’s generally linear, most running moves are, with certain exceptions (*cough* Azucena)
I’m pretty sure it’s easier to SWL but SWR also works
From range SSL Is easier SSR is I heard has less clipping in comparison to SSL
Can you make one for to deal with reina when spamming
Reina video DONE ✅
Does ssl work?
No, easy way to remember is that his left arm us always infront so like in a real fight you slide into his blind spot which is your right his left
Please do devil jin next

SSR got it!
How to demolish any jack 8 in 3 when.

yeah but no dragunov throws wr2 in your face like that after a jab
He’s just showing you that it can be sidestepped right, it’s not a real setup
No, half dragunov players run from 5km away and u can sidewalk his asses, for the people that actually do the iwr2, you have to figure out their pressure and timings in order to sidestep him
Good dragunovs will
Not at low ranks lol
Good drags dont just spam wr2 from full screens away. iWR2 is important for pressure strings
SSR
"Acshually you can SSR 🤓" good luck trying to guess when its coming
lmfao so he's not a threat whatsoever and can be sidestepped with ease even if he initially hits you 😂 Who needed to even see this?
Hopefully people stop crying the more they learn the matchup. Typical red rank behavior tho so i don't have much hope
Bluds are playing top 1 and are STILL downplaying
