The only thing I remember about Killzone 2 is the ludicrous grenade spam on some maps. Used to be a higher grenade count than fps at times.
Boy, Guerilla really missed an opportunity not giving us Pro owners a 4k update or a remaster...

The guns sound amazing but the games were mediocre. Horizon is far superior and the sales numbers show that. No need for a remaster.

Bullpups are better anyways. You have a overall shorter gun because the bullet can travel longer in the barrel.

@@danthonygregory4157 Then you've got guns like the FNP90, Famas, AUG, and MTAR. Those guns are legendary. Love me bullpups snipers as well. Lighter because the gun is overall shorter without sacrificing bullet velocity.

They're quite literally modeled off the NSDAP and CCCP this was admitted by the game developers.... now if they're equally as evil as those two that's an entirely different story

I remember this game having a weird FOV on PS3. It felt like everything was too zoomed in, like Area 51 on PS2. Guns sure felt punchy, though.
This is correct, the fov is absolutely awful
In general, FOV on consoles are bad, but some games do it worse, like Killzone, No man's sky, Metro 2033, etc.

The per object motion blur is done so well here. Really smooths out the low fps well.
Still love this game. Incredible how the good the graphics still hold up and bad ass the weapons feel when there fired.
Am I the only one being thrown off by the shotgun, I mean the ejecting before the pump just melts my brain.

If this got rereleased for PS4, with online once again populated, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. With just a minimal visual overhaul itd look better than a lot of games TODAY. Graphics and art style still blow me away, weapons handled amazingly and were balanced, sound effects were great.

Fortnite's cartoonish. Most games aim to look realistic, take Battlefield for example. But damn, Battlefield 3 still looks amazing today despite being a last-gen game.

Pretty much.... The most technically feasible representation of a bullpup AR.... It even has enough space in the stock to accommodate a buffer tube for the BCG... My only complaint is that It didn't get an under-barrel grenade launcher like it did in the first game

I noticed that the m82 has a forward assist in the same placement as a lot of none bullpup rifles. The charging handle I understand because there is a bullpup shotgun with that ar charging handle style and placement, but how does that forward assist placement work on a bullpup?
Edit: Looking at how the forward assist works again, I think I see how it can work.
If I'm seeing this correctly the forward assist is on the front half of the receiver... My guess is it would take a pretty well-engineered linkage to pull the bolt carrier group instead of pushing it..
The Only problem that Killzone 2 has is the impossibility to carry over than 2 weapons, and one of them must be a pistol. For example: If you see a Missile launcher, you can take it, but you will carry a M.Launcher and a Pistol 🙄. It would be like Gears of war, where you can carry 3 weapons: One Pistol and two of your choice. What they did in killzone 2 was horrible and limits the player to carry any weapon that he/she want. That limitation exists even in the multiplayer. But even that problem, Killzone 2 is my favorite game of franchise.

The only downside to Killzone 2's gameplay: while the M82's sound was fine in the Demo at E3 2007, it's disgusting in the actual game, it sounds like you're squeezing it with a toy gun. And sometimes it pulls you out of the war atmosphere.

After PS3 era I left PlayStation for PC Gaming. But ill gladly pick up a PS5 if they remaster KZ2 or KZ3
The trouble with KZ2 is too many guns are too heavily based off real-life counterparts, instead of being creative. It IS meant to be a futuristic, science-fiction setting, after all.
At least the latter part of the guns get more unconventional, I'll give 'em that.
100% agree, in the first one the guns felt somewhat futuristic but not too out of this world, and in kz2 you can tell what the developers based the guns on for example the I. S. A assault rifle looks like the m4 but of a bullpup variety.
in killzone 2 and 3, i actually saw the ISA assault rifle as an L85A2 with a holographic scope and a flash light, and the helghast assault rifle as a FAMAS with a weird looking clip.
the closest thing to the sub machine gun though is the Russian PP-19 Bizon.
But that’s the point. The Killzone Universe is technologically advanced but not that advanced. Laser weapons are unheard of in the Battlefield until Killzone 3 introduced that explosive gun and those are usually reserved for giant weapons of destruction anyway. This isn’t Star Wars
Thicc ness it wouldn't take humanity 3 centuries just to come up with better weapon designs. I mean, it's set in the year 2357. Look at BF2142, couldn't they come up with cool designs like that with no laser crap?
+medo988881 Well that’s the thing. I know your doing it as a comparison but those are two completely different types of series. Yes they are both in the future but like I just said right now, it’s the *FUTURE.* Who knows what it’s really gonna be like anyway. They probably just don’t have the resources available to make stuff like this at the time of the Helghast War. That’s why the Helghast could make these giant weapons of destruction and the ISAs most powerful weapons were just giant ships meanwhile the Helghast weaponized lightning, gases, elements, built giant war machines, shield technology, and etc. because the Helghast planet had powerful and unknown elements on them. Earth doesn’t have this stuff and therefore the Helghast used this power and could’ve won the war because of these elements. It makes sense from a lore perspective. I’m fairly certain that there are some laser weapons during the time of Killzone Shadow Fall though so it seems they evolved their weaponry afterwards.
