Been playing solo sloop for ages now, I find it so chilled. However, going from solo to playing with a crew is like “oh my, I don’t have to do everything? That’s so nice!” 😂

Solo slopping is hard mode. You gotta be extra vigilant and careful. I’m not very skilled so my best bet is to avoid people/conflict. I almost got a lv5 merchant emissary today but wasn’t looking at my surroundings as often when on my last island. A ships spawned at the nearby outpost, raised a reaper emissary and came straight for me. They got the drop on me so I was done before they started firing. Just bad timing.
I’m a solo slooper since the beginning because I like to roleplay actually being a pirate didn’t realise it was more difficult

My experiences as a solo sloop running through the night with two hours of work on board has converted me to the faith of the whale lord. He has blessed me with safe passage when I needed it the most.

Idk about you but I use the mercenary pistol and never really got hit reg issues
Infact one dude tried to steal the ancient tributes chest on my ship once and I used the pistol which shot actually registered and then spammed my sword
That’s legit the only time I could have got a legit hit the issue

Fun and hilarious is all I can call this lol even if you loose knowing money is only for cosmetics makes me relived so in the end it never something to loose you crap over. I just picked up the game and about to join the solo sloop ranks on the seas.
This is why I switched to double gunning. The sword is just to inconsistent right now.
i did too but i just went back to the sword because im a cuck and loved being able to just kill entire crews with a one mile swipe.

I’m on the verge of giving up on solo slooping. I’ve only been playing for 3 weeks and most of that time other ships sink my ship before I’m even done purchasing my supplies. Then they take me out and take everything I purchased. If I manage to get back to port after collecting items, I’ve noticed ships camping out at the ports. Then they sink my ship and take me out before I can sell anything. I’ve even had a couple somehow find where my ship respawned and immediately come after me and take me down again. I love watching your videos and I’m hoping to learn a few things. In fact the Galleon in the video is decked out exactly like the ship that was following me around today.

I am, by no means, a pro or good at this game, but I will say that Solo Slooping is equal parts so fun and rewarding, and it's so angering and unrelenting. But in the end it always makes for a good story!

I really wonder how much of the game I am missing, I have hundreds of hours played and every single minute of that was done on a solo sloop, I never played with a crew, I never engaged in an pvp battle, I have been chased plenty but I either red sea my loot or just scuttle my ship right away, never actually fired a canon onto another players ship before (besides npc skelly ships)
I know that I play like a coward, but yet I am still having fun, I said to myself that once I get bored of the solo sloop life, I'll engage more with pvp and just be more social in general, but here I am still having fun with the solo life and I dont see any end in sight, being a lone wolf in this game is so exhilarating and it really keeps me on my toes which I enjoy a lot, people say this game isn't friendly or good for solo players, but for me, the added challenge only makes the solo life more appealing and rewarding
I mean if your having fun it's al good right. But I'd recommend joining a SoT discord and finding people similar to you in terms of goals/experience/personality, you can meet some amazing people and sailing together can be great fun. A bit scary at first maybe, but 100% worth it. Try it :)
this comment is well written and explains your point well but... runners never win. once you realize that you will love this game more. Its really low to red sea the loot. the people chasing you have the balls to actually fight in a pirate game and you just take that away. you think running is going to make them give up? no man. people that look for combat and only that do not care if you run for a year or an hour. they will waste your time and take your loot. i know this because i do this. this game has so much to do but when you do it all there is nothing left but the fight. those that live by the sword earned the loot you collect for them. thank you for being a cash cow. you can learn to fight too and earn the loot they collect for you or you can keep running. yes i understand the "numbers game". being outnumbered is not fun. but winning against those guys just rubs it in to their face that you are better or they were unlucky. how is it rewarding to delete the loot? that is a pussy move. just lose with dignity say gg and move on. don't run. don't be a coward. put up a fight or give up and learn to fight with that extra time you saved by not running or go get double the loot in the same amount of time. im not saying this because im mad or upset. believe me ive been catching runners for a long time, they dont get away, im saying this because im just disappointed with the community and want to see you succeed. this game is a PvP game plain and simple. but by all means keep running because i wont stop chasing.
I really enjoy solo slooping, personally if I am attacked I will fight back the best that I can but I don't PVP on purpose. I play sometimes with other people and I'll die laughing for hours. But more often than not I am by myself, at the moment I've been doing some stuff in the devils roar and it can get extremely boring with no one around for me to stress about.
@@elijiahburgess5506 The game isn't just a PvP game. The fact people keeps saying this is ignoring what Rare has repeatedly said about the game. You're free to play how you want, stop trying to force people to fight you. If they wanna flee then they can do that, if they wanna scuttle then they can go ahead. They don't owe you a fight, they don't owe anyone a fight unless they want to fight.

I became a pvp chad amongst 60% of people I come across and the other 40% give me a hood or fair battle. All because I been solo slooping since I got the game at the very end of S8

The amount of times I got hit (and died) through sword block is insane. And all they do is spam hit

Man, I've been playing for 45 minutes, and most of that time has been me trying to locate this island on the map. I've looked at every island, outpost, everything. Zoomed in, zoomed out, went through every grid. Found the other island for a map I got no problem, but not for the initial quest.
Going to start over again and see if it's just a glitch.

@@HollowKnightReference I figured it out, I was literally covering up the tiniest island. So I couldn't see it on the map, It wasn't until a few days later when I had to find it again. 🤣
