Always love watching you work. I’ve learned so much beyond what I already knew. Mostly about order of operations and being methodical about stuff. That all came in handy a few weeks ago for what was supposed to be an easy oil leak fix that turned into a head gasket. Thanks bmw for putting a rubber seal under the head.
Eric, when I first saw you start this build, it wasn't anything that captured my attention. But, as I watched you work on the car more, I became very interested in the build. And I want to say, the finished product is amazing. I have a new found respect for vintage car builds because of you. I would rather have your Fairmont than my new Civic because the Fairmont has so much HP and so much character.

Was about to comment that was from Blazing Saddles when you said it! Now if you're really cool Eric, you'll know the one, and only line that Mel Brooks cut from the entire movie.
@@shaniarice1054 Not really, since for paint to adhere properly as well as to the surrounding tar-like area so it doesn't flake off after a week, you're going to be spending some time. Coating it in oil is much, much faster.
it would be slightly easier if you made those spacers a slide in, that way you can have the k member loosely bolted and those spacers would just slip right in
Bet you get a bunch of SJWs posting here being triggered by the mention of Blazing Saddles. A movie that is a comic legend.....and could never be made in this day of snowflakes and their safe spaces. Oh.....great series this Fairmont is. Thank you for all of it.

Hey Eric, have a quick question perhaps you could shed a little light for me, have a 99 Ford expedition that doesn't want to go over 25mph, what can I do to best diagnose what the problem could be?, Would appreciate any feedback you could throw my way, thank you
It looked like the passenger rear spacer was backwards, but when you squared the k member, I assume it was just loose. Thanks as always for content, when you come to Florida, let us know, I'll buy you some beers, or whatever you drink, I dont partake much anymore but im down for meeting you

Keep an eye on my social media for my car show schedule this summer. In fact, I'll probably be at Jekyll Island St. Patricks Day weekend for Caffeine and Octane on the beach.
Eric, my brother-in-law has a 98 Buick Century that has a loud clicking sound in the passenger wheel. Now he says the wheel feels like it wobbles and he feels it in the steering wheel too. When I used all your tips from other videos to look at the suspension or the guess if it is the bearing or idle arm I can not get it to make the noise when I have it up. Any suggestions to pinpoint how to reproduce it when the car off the ground or do I just start by changing the bearing first? Thanks for all the information you share.
I was wondering if you can help mre out with some questions. Its fine with dry roads and heavy rains, but snow is absolute terror for me in this vehicle! I have had all the stabilizer links replaced, an alignment done, also the inner tierod replaced. Hey ERIC! I can use your help. I am at a very serious loss! I have a 2002 Mazda Protege LX. 2.0L 4 valves. I am having trouble after the car starts to keep it running. I trippled checked timing. Changed fuel regular and fuel pump and filter. Spark plugs got carbon on it. Changed the spark plug wires and valve cover. Cleaned, replaced gaskets, and made sure the air system is 100. I had the altenator tested three months ago. That was ok. New battery as of yesterday. 12v for battery with 50% charge for the old one. It was bad. I do not know what to do. Can you help me please? Also smoke and a loud wine was coming from altenator before I redone tensioning.
Also the car runs sometimes after I push on the gas. The Engine 10A recently blew. I replaced it with a spare. The car makes a gulgalling sound when it does start.

Eric, in this video you are saying something at the beginning (Mustang sequence) that you have no problem jacking up the car at the stock K member. Is there a reason not to do so? Just wondering if I should stop doing it on my 1972 Satellite. Love your shows. Thank you.
I suppose with the weight of the engine in place there is the possibility of bending it. Hard to say. I do know that the internet can be weird about that stuff sometimes though. Hence the reason I mentioned it.
