Hi! I made a mistake here! When I said in the video
I'm sorry I didn't notice my English mistake before uploading!
日本は 駅が きれい (にほんは えきが きれい)
I said "You make Japan subject" But I was meant to say "You make Japan topic" by using は particle.
With this sentence, は is Topic marker and が is indication the subject!
So にほんは is Topic and えき is the subject!
So I should have said "You make Japan topic" by using は particle.
But I used the word "Subject" where I needed to say "Topic" in English!
Again, I'm sorry for the mistake. It is very unprofessional.

It is NOT very unprofessional! You are NOT unprofessional. EVER!
Normally mistakes don't matter. It's just the Topic vs Subject issue - it's a nightmare for English learners of Japanese because there's no real equivalent in (normal everyday) English.

I wish my classes were this clear. It really helps to have this stuff explained in English as it's introduced in Japanese. Immersion classes where they only speak/teach in the foreign language is only effective if you're learning slowly over multiple years--like when we were children.
Another verb that takes the に particle which is often missed by learners is 勤める (つとめる), "to work for". It helps to remember that if you rather translate it as "to be employed by", which stresses that it's a "state" rather than an "action", and thus takes the に particle.
Yes but just to make things fun , 働くtakes the でparticle. Don’t complain. English is just as crazy 🤣
