This was so inspiring, we are just keeping our heads above water at the moment, but I am focused that I can make a income from both channels and leave a legacy for my family . I think it's important to recognize that for people with salaried jobs they aren't just going to magically make 3x their regular income in 1 month to pay those credit cards off. This is an amazing story but not super relatable to those who don't have that much control over their income.
But it is - salaried employees need to diversify their income streams. I'm a salaried manager and have 3 side hustle that take minimal time (I do a little guest speaking, I also do trade stocks and cryptocurrencies, and I also breed a few select animals as I am in farming area). All of which brings a decent side income. I'm also in the process of trying to start two small businesses. It's possible - you just have to make time for you.
I had a full time corporate job when I started my dog training side business now my full time business. I started assisting puppy classes to pay off debt and ended up loving it!
I run my own business and did a serious expense cut back one year to try to help with debt. I made the most money I had ever that year and did everything "right". I got absolutely nailed to the wall during tax time due to lack of write offs and the government took way more from me lol. Life really isn't straight forward.
Such great points here, especially related to money mindset. In Eastern (and in Western) Europe, we don’t have this habit of having debts, because people here hate credits and prefer to pay/be paid 100% of the price. But the mindset “you have to work real hard”, “we can’t afford this”, “save money by putting it under your pillow”, is there. It took me DECADES to overcome my poor mindset. I’m really hoping I’m on the right path now 😺
Yes!!! Rewriting that Scarcity Mindset! My mind has been so wired to believe I’m broke that I thought I was broke even when I wasn’t and it then unintentionally self sabotaging to make my reality align with my thoughts... - Ive had this belief that no matter how much I’ll make I won’t have enough because then I’ll have more expenses, so I’m mindful of avoiding lifestyle inflation by focusing on what my essential income is, + a little more and that I can thrive at this point and anything more is extra and that I can obtain it and nurture it.
This is such amazing advice! After so many years of scarcity mindset and saying “I’m broke,” I’ve finally been working through these mindset shifts. This is SO important! Flipping the scripts, sticky notes, writing it in your journal DAILY. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I've gotten in and out of (credit and medical) debt a couple of times. I have experienced all of those feelings you described in this video. Being broke makes you feel it. Changing how you look at money makes it enjoyable. You don't have to ball, but knowing that I don't owe anyone money or not be guilty buying something nice is a great feeling.

I'm happy that you were able to pay off your credit card debt. You're making enough money to be able to pay off $32,000 of credit card debt in six months. The average person probably won't be able to do this. Take me for example, I make $3,200 a month after taxes so I'm not able to put a lot of money towards my debts. I'm happy with my income and my job so making more money isn't important to me.

This was a great video Cathrin! I couldn’t agree more that creating healthy money habits starts with your mindset and beliefs. For a long time I was afraid to look at my bank account and I noticed the avoidance just made that fear greater. Now I make it a habit to check it regularly and if I see something I don’t like, instead of feeling upset I think “great, what’s one small thing I can do to move things in the right direction”

TH-cam and Amazon Affiliate are my only sources of income right now. I’m in flight school, and not currently employed. But I’m only making about $100 from each at the moment. I’m not growing all that fast but I increased my upload schedule at the beginning of 2021 to try and grow my channel faster. It’s very slow growing and sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated because of the low return on my time invested.

I love how you were worried at the end about if we liked the video 😂 I found this really interesting because I'm doing a 'No Buy' year to pay off my credit card, my debt was a smaller scale than yours so less than £1000 but it has taken me 6 months of no spending to pay it off anyway. Luckily I'm able to pay for my website expenses each month just don't have a lot left after. I'm going to read those books because I definitely need to change my mindset. Sorry for the essay 🤭

It is amazing that you can put your coffee into business experience. Food consumption is not classified as an expenses in most EU countries. I think there is even a limit of people per meeting if you would like to have catering put under the expense. You can provide your employees with a water but not yourself (Irish law is that employees have to have access to drinking water… well not during COVID now we need to bring water ourselves).
Yasss Think and Grow Rich is a classic. Yes, antequated language but the lessons are timeless. Other money books I recommend: Your Money Or Your Life; Rich Dad Poor Dad; Millionaire Next Door; Millionaire Fastlane; Tax-Free Wealth and for good measure, E-Myth Revisited. E-Myth is a business book but it’s about how to build a sustainable and profitable business. Love this content. It speaks to me. Keep it coming!

Awesome and congrats!!! Being Debt free is the way to be!!!! It opens up a whole new life style!!! It hurts me and my wife to spend any money!!! We still do but we question it when we do. Coming up to a year of being debt free!!! 😀
oh nooooo I don't like the mindset of being afraid to spend money. YES I agree on being debt free, my goal is to only have a mortgage and that's it! But, I'm never afraid to spend money. It flows from me and to me freely 👏

Some great points there Cathrin. I started my channel as a bit of a joke and also a challenge. I thought like you "I can't make money out of this". Now I am making 70 pounds a month but do wonder could I make enough to replace my full time job at 50K a year. Your numbers do suggest that yes I could with the right mindset.

Step 1: Make a crap ton of money so you’re able to make more than the bare minimum.
32,000 in credit debt thats scary. Thats a nice car paid in full. Thats my tuition debt from a "private" college.

This was a great video Cathrin! I couldn’t agree more that creating healthy money habits starts with your mindset and beliefs.
For a long time I was afraid to look at my bank account and I noticed the avoidance just made that fear greater. Now I make it a habit to check it regularly and if I see something I don’t like, instead of feeling upset I think “great, what’s one small thing I can do to move things in the right direction”

TH-cam and Amazon Affiliate are my only sources of income right now. I’m in flight school, and not currently employed. But I’m only making about $100 from each at the moment. I’m not growing all that fast but I increased my upload schedule at the beginning of 2021 to try and grow my channel faster. It’s very slow growing and sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated because of the low return on my time invested.
Lots of us are in debts and paying it off is a huge deal! But this is a great contents that shares idea on how to do that!

I love how you were worried at the end about if we liked the video 😂 I found this really interesting because I'm doing a 'No Buy' year to pay off my credit card, my debt was a smaller scale than yours so less than £1000 but it has taken me 6 months of no spending to pay it off anyway. Luckily I'm able to pay for my website expenses each month just don't have a lot left after. I'm going to read those books because I definitely need to change my mindset. Sorry for the essay 🤭

It is amazing that you can put your coffee into business experience. Food consumption is not classified as an expenses in most EU countries. I think there is even a limit of people per meeting if you would like to have catering put under the expense. You can provide your employees with a water but not yourself (Irish law is that employees have to have access to drinking water… well not during COVID now we need to bring water ourselves).
Yasss Think and Grow Rich is a classic. Yes, antequated language but the lessons are timeless. Other money books I recommend: Your Money Or Your Life; Rich Dad Poor Dad; Millionaire Next Door; Millionaire Fastlane; Tax-Free Wealth and for good measure, E-Myth Revisited. E-Myth is a business book but it’s about how to build a sustainable and profitable business.

The book rich dad poor dad got me out of the mindset that I grew up with. I'm still working on it but I'm happy to say that I'm raising my kids on all most double the income I grew up on. So we are making progress!

Very useful, I’m trying to reach 10k subs by the end of this year and it seems so daunting. But I realize I have lots of limiting beliefs involving TH-cam and the general entrepreneurial space due to how I was raised

Awesome and congrats!!! Being Debt free is the way to be!!!! It opens up a whole new life style!!! It hurts me and my wife to spend any money!!! We still do but we question it when we do. Coming up to a year of being debt free!!! 😀
oh nooooo I don't like the mindset of being afraid to spend money. YES I agree on being debt free, my goal is to only have a mortgage and that's it! But, I'm never afraid to spend money. It flows from me and to me freely 👏

Some great points there Cathrin. I started my channel as a bit of a joke and also a challenge. I thought like you "I can't make money out of this". Now I am making 70 pounds a month but do wonder could I make enough to replace my full time job at 50K a year. Your numbers do suggest that yes I could with the right mindset.

transparency is KEY! It's so easy to look at big youtubers and forget that they started at 0 as well. we all started from the bottom, worked hard, and built a brand that everyone sees today!
