I have been riding HD big twins for 50+ years. I no longer take long trips and just do not need my heavy Ultra CVO any more and am not ready to give up 2 wheels for a trike so bought a 1200 Roadster. At 70 years old I have discovered how much fun a lighter smaller bike can be. I should have bought one decades ago to go along with my big twins!

Harley’s are the only true original Harley air cooled 1200cc people forget that Harley’s in the 70’s were the max 1200cc, that’s why the sportster is an omage to the old days, realistically if you need anything bigger than 1200cc max you’re compensating for something.

If I were a girl I wouldn't be getting on the back of that bike. A Harley forty eight will get up there in the 120 mph range and for cruising their great.

Is a sportster big enough for a man. Well depends are you 7 feet tall 400 pounds or are you 5 foot 6 130 pounds. So ya it's big enough for a human. Just depends how tall the human is. No it's not a woman's bike. It's for small people such as myself.

Too small for a man? Only Americans have this mentality. From a 1982 Honda Twinstar 200, 2003 Suzuki GZ250, 883 sportster and a 1200 sportster I've ridden some small bikes. All perfectly adequate for normal riding- unless you have to compensate for a small penis.

Looking at a 2016 XL1200C. I'm 5' 8" tall at about 250lbs and I'm thinking I'm to big for it. Anyone out there have one that's around my size and if so how do you feel on it. I've looked at the bike and it looks small but it looks really nice and very clean. I have a Suzuki boulevard C50 so wondering if it's a good move. Just looking for opinions.
    Thanks in advance

I'm slightly shy of 6ft, 230lbs, 2012 1200C, love this bike, this is my daily commute to work, weather permitting. I have ridden her from Melbourne to Sydney, 10.5 hr ride one way with alot of Cafe Latte breaks inbetween the 550 mile adventure, she purrs like a kitten, I have installed HD adjustable shocks, to give me options on comfort, but hey who are we kidding, our backs are not designed to sit at great lengths of time, therefore more Latte breaks. Good amount of power when needed to overtake Semi trailers, fantastic maneuverability when dodging the occasional Kangaroo, sorry I don't do the fuel economy calculation thing mate, how does the saying goes " if it has a pair of t's or tires it's gunna cost yah..good luck!!
