I just fixed a craftsman for a good friend of mine and he traded me 3 "turds on 4 wheels " i started it with ether it had a horrible shake. after tipping it on its side i found it had one of those Chinese blade adapters . I took the plug out and spun the blade, it was 3/8" off! Ridiculous! I thought the crankshaft was bent but no it was the adapter it was welded that far off!
Oh yes, if the adapter isn’t just the right size it will make a terrible clunking noise. I bought a set of calipers just to measure the shaft diameters. The battery operated digital calipers are way easier to use than the old fashioned vernier calipers. Just FYI🤓
I hope that fixes it cuz that knock was bad!! I need some junkers to come my way, only got the one Crafty with the busted head bolt, been putting that off till it cools down below FACE of the SUN heat!!

I now say "NITROOO" every time I use carb cleaner or ether to test a mower for starting.

Those yard man mowers are identical to yard machine . I believe yard man was sold at Walmart at some point
