Just restored an identical unit. Had same problems. Missing carb gasket, ultrasonic clean carb and still had surge. I noticed it smooth out if the govenor link was moved back slightly. Sure enough a governor reset and it worked fine. Someone messed with it probably.

Btw, simple fix for rough running that works sometimes is running a bit of seafoam through it.

good deal, I just picked up a Craftsman Self-propelled on trade with a new never used bag for $20 off purchase, the only thing wrong was spark plug, ( go figure thats like 2nd time every)

Make sure and check your gaskets on the Honda. Easy to get one with a leak or not installed properly causing issues

Traveled to fix a xmark I worked on a few years ago. Oil leak. The drain has a yellow cap on it twist and pull to drain. Anyway the thing has a 7/8 nut to install it. The engine mount bolts come loose and with the size of nut hits surface worked loose leak empty in 2 weeks. Loosen up engine raise it up get it out replace with 3/8 brass plug tighten engine down can get 13/16 socket on plug success. Few years ago when I put drive motors in the engine was loose then tightened it up. Then went into town picked up a free personal pace and snowblower from my guy. He was cleaning up area. He took a bunch of mowers/blowers to scrap yard. I would have taken some but can't fix them all I am out of space. Have a great day.

I try to pick up any mower that's a Honda or has a Honda engine on it if the price is right. The "Carb Sandwich" on them is a pain, but the little engines are tough and sell well. Good job on getting that one firing again!!

Had a GX 390 leaking oil every where with great compression and only 2 months old new engine It looked funny but it took me 3 days before I realized it had a really small muffler on it, put a used one on off other GX390 and no leaks 😢😢😢 That’s crazy for a new 950.00 engine 😢

I have a big air lift for zero turn but would like to have a small hydraulic lift table for push mowers Seems to be very handy and not hard on my back 😊😊😊

Just grabbed one off side of road. Looks nice. Muffled sound when i pull cord. Oil in it. And gas full. I am looking for Carb spray. I assume i should suck gas out (where do i dispose of it - my yard???) Then try some Mechanic in a Bottle and see if she fires up?

This might sound daft, but what gas cap would you get for this? I have one, but the gas cap went awol. I bought what I thought was a standard size but it's way too big.

I would think blade $25 air filter $7 recoil repair 25 with handle diagnose 15. There is a reason people are afraid of the repair shop they are $100 per hour

Can you use the self propelled without the cover on? The cover on mine just fell off and i shredded it 😂 but finding the part is impossible

How do you remove the 596250 in order to replace it with a new one? The old one is leaking gas from underneath the cap itself.

Those Honda clone gas tanks are cheap, if the unit winds up working. I did a little generator, new tank was @$25? Beats trying to derust, and knowing the rust WILL come back.

I got a tb110 few weeks ago runs good wondering why throwen away. All looked good till I looked under it. Fairly new blade down side up. Has a few hits on it. Turned it over

Dang, that thing is NASTY!! I'm betting it was in a flood to get that much water in everything. Crankcase is probably full of water too!! Perfect example of "Rode hard and put away wet!!" I'm working on an old Honda Harmony II. Tranny is shot so I removed the cable, belt and control handle and made it a pusher. It was a freebie so if I get $50 for it, I'll be happy.

The casting of the engine snapped off.

I got 3, one of them was an older black rwd crapsman.... It works, a briggs quantum, runs perfectly, one problem presented itself quick pin hole in carb bowl, fixed that quick, but then the worst part presented itself, the lower bolt that holds the valve cover on, 1 of 2, the bottom one is broken, and oil is running out, which sucks, it's a perfect engine, runs like new, but can't save it because of a broken bolt, sucks....so I will strip the engine down to the bone, and just put another quantum on it.
