I do not feel sorry for car dealers AT ALL.
If you want a Jeep! 😂
Organized thieves with the paid protection of state franchise laws passed by legislators who are supposed to protect US from them. Think about that the next time you talk with your state officials.
They all aren't crooks FYI
This is their karma 😂
@@pamc3338 Good cars are still in short supply. If you want crap....there are plenty. Go and try to buy a Toyota hybrid
Last summer I was shopping for a vehicle. Every dealer had vehicles marked up with junk fees and non-negotiable add on packages and I told them they could keep them. Fast forward 1 year and they can't sell them fast enough. Serves the greedy bastards right.
No one should buy new cars at jacked-up MSRPs. People are still crazy for buying them.
Prices will NOT plummet...as long as idiots pay these crazy prices.
Plenty of crappy cars available if you want a " deal".
When a dealer takes a used $15,600.00 on line price to nearly 23$ grand to gain massive profit is terrible
My advice is to bite the bullet, buy a brand new Japanese made car, and then KEEP IT FOREVER!!! In the long run, you will SAVE TONS OF MONEY!!!
I bought a Nissan Frontier new 17 years back and would normally sell, or trade in a new vehicle after the ten year mark. Now I'm thinking I'll maybe get another ten years out of my truck and perhaps by that time EV’s and all that pertains will have the bugs worked out and I'll want a new pickup truck.
Several major car companies stopped selling affordable sedans, claiming that nobody is buying them. Now they are selling only crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. And now no one is buying them, especially EVs. I believe the real reason for stopping making sedans was not that nobody was buying them, but that they a created a huge price contrast with their expensive SUVs and trucks. In 2000, one could buy a used Ford Escort with 120K miles for around $1250. Even in 2017, many dealers sold new Toyota Camrys for less than $19000. Selling on the same dealer lot two similarly sized new cars, one for 20K and one for 60K, looks a little embarassing to dealers.
Your theory is wrong. No one wants sedans in North America since the SUVs are more practical in comparison.
My entire household has only sedans. We love the savings on fuel without having to go the hybrid crossover route. I also prefer my new-to-driving teens to be in a sedan due to the lower risk of rollover. Also, sedans are just better looking to me which I know is subjective.
Looks like the "chateaubriand days" of "Big Cars, Big Profits" are coming to a crushing end"...thank goodness.
Really surprised that Mazda wasn't on the list of best buys. They're great cars!
No they're not.
I have a CX 30 and I enjoy it very much. Over a year now and no issues, knock on Wood.
Yes they are and the reviews say it as well. @patbrown463
For the money, they are the best driving cars and as someone who has had Mazda and has a CX30 now, they are excellent cars and drive better than any car at equal price.
They’re not fuel efficient for how underpowered they are. That’s why people rather go with Toyota and Honda.
To summ up this entire channel:
Buy Japanese cars (except nissan, mitsubishi & suzuki)
Because they're reliable
If you want luxury, buy acura or lexus
Don't buy European cars but if you have to, buy BMW or Porsche
Thank me later
I would literally walk or ride a bicycle before I’d pay these crazy inflated prices. These add ons are a rip off. Paint sealant, scotchguard, stripes, blah blah blah. Some dealers charging $5k for an extended warranty. They can shove it.
People seem to buy cars the way they vote. The Land/Range River is a great example, lol.
I think that they are kit for posers. They convey that image to everyone who is well-informed about cars and it's not a good one.
You mean like idjits with 35" truck tires?
That's a very low volume vehicle and doesn't represent typical American buyer.
Honda civic, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry on the top 10 list. I bet Ford and Chevy are regretting cutting the Fusion, Taurus, Malibu, Impala, Cruze, etc.
I would buy the impala in a heartbeat if it were still around.
I see a trend here. Toyota and Honda dominate sales. Difficult to get a used one with low mileage. I ended buying a used Elantra, a poor man's Civic. 😮
Used top Japanese cars (Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi - depending on the segment) are the best.
Used Elantra not so much, but it is better than used German, Indian or Chinese cars.
In my region of Canada, I was looking at the Corolla Cross hybrid and the RAV4 hybrid. But the Corolla Cross was an 8 month wait with the RAV4 being 12 months. I then looked at the CRV hybrid which was in dealer stock but the most expensive. Hyundai Tucson hybrid was better priced with a 1 month wait and is what I now have - no regrets, especially after trading in my Ioniq 5 EV.
you lucky the corolla cross was 2 years waiting list last november i went with the rav4 hybrid 6/12 months at the time)then in 3weeks will be at my door. for 45k-50k the rav4 hybrid have no equal since the cable gate have now a new clip cover.
Range Rover in demand?? I call BS. Must be their sponsor!!!
Local dealers here in western Penna. are offering a $280 monthly lease with zero down for last year's Dodge Hornet.
Another great video Shari! Keep up the good work ❤
Thank you 🙏
I have a new Camry. I have talked to others in S. California that have them. There are scattered dealerships that are discounting them despite the short supply. I managed almost $2500 off MSRP. Keep looking if someone is marking them up
I work for a Honda and we cannot keep Civics n the lot. they sell as soon as we get delivery. CRV-Hybrid is right behind it. The most popular models we sell.
Shari spot on straight to the point, as always. I watch your videos regardless of the title. I always learn something useful from your videos and really appreciate the priceless work you are doing to educate the car buyers. Keep it up ❤
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Tacoma sales are supposedly way off. Overpriced and the stink of the new Tundras have people nervous.
Stop paying Markups over Msrp ....its insane to go GaGa over any particular model nowadays specially if you think of the build and performance after five years..control your hunger and fantasies and show the dealers their actual worth!!!
It's your state legislatures that protect those crooks.
@@wholeNwon True...once we stay affirm to our choices they should hell bend on the actual procedure...the change has begun already!!
To your question at the end: Toyota Camry!
2:32. Did anyone else see the UFO?
Yes
Those are seagulls 😂
I saw a bird or two.
I like to ask where would you place Mazda 3 on the top ten best selling cars? In your previous videos it was on the top ten list. Well done! 👍
I refuse to buy a brand new vehicle again! Thanks for this video and for helping us stay informed.
I only have the jeep wrangler as long as warranty is there. The moment it's about to be up I'm switching over to a nice Japanese car.
I've been hearing for a year that car prices are about to fall because inventory is piling up. They haven't, and they won't. This is click-bait.
Unfortunately the US and Canadian markets are very different. It will take some time for Canada to catch up with US inventory levels since manufacturers are sending most of what they make to the US as the Canadian dollar makes us a lower priced market. Toyota dealers in Toronto are still buying new hybrid vehicles they receive to sell them used with significant markups over retail for instance.
I don't know how you missed the dodge chargers and challengers. Looked at a charger on the lot over 400 days. Very average car marked down to 45 grand, still a lot of money for a base model w awd
The Dodge Hornet is actually an Italian car with an engine built in Poland. You realize that when you look at the window sticker and it shows it's built in Italy. Dodge buyers are not gonna buy a foreign car with an American badge slapped onto it. The reliability of Italian cars is "questionable" and the parts to repair are ridiculous. I guess Stellantis thinks American buyers are gullible and stupid. Those Hornets are $15,000 cars with $45,000 prices, and are gonna fall apart. No thanks!
Toyota and Subaru is still selling and at full price. On Long Island, NY anyway.
Imagine before the internet the field days that car dealers had because people had no clue.
I would love to see a list of those that have the best incentives while still being fairly good purchases. Like I assume Mazda CX-5 would be in there with good reliability and still getting incentives (just terrible gas mileage), but I wonder what else might be in there.
Also huge shout out to Toyota for keeping their prices very competitive even close to the low end vehicle. Even the crappy ones can’t compete with Toyota on pricing. Look at Kia/Hyundai, Nissan or jeep price tags. Not even half the reliability of Toyota but higher prices.
In my region of Canada, Toyotas have the longest wait times ... no thanks. Hondas are in stock but pricier.
Actually, in the places where I live, Nissan Altimas cost $4500 less than a somewhat less well-equipped Toyota Camry. The Camry is a bit more reliable but the difference in actual yearly repair costs do not make up for the fact that the differential is close enough that it will take more than 8 years to make up for that difference. I you don't plan on keeping your car longer than 8 years, then the Altima is the better buy.
I think you missed one for fastest selling car, 2024 chevy trax. I was searching for 4 months to find a white 1RS before I found one and bought it while it was arriving on the cargo ship, The 2RS and Activ are plenty but 1RS is such good value in canada, a white or black 1RS is usually gone within 2 days
I think a lot of Jeep enthusiast would buy a Gladiator. It's just way over priced for what you get.
You didn't have the Cadillac LYRIQ on the list. It is available at the dealer parking lot for 100 or more.
I wonder how many cats would be sold if people only could pay with just cash no loans financing and interest car market would collapse . STAY TUNED 😆 🤣
Toyota vs Toyota Love It!
your 2 lists reveal that sensibility/cost have ZERO or close to zero correlation to sales. Plenty of people with $$$$ willing to spend on ie pick ups but not willing to drop the same coin on a brand. Stellantis occupies quite a few spots on the bad list. The reverse for Toyota, not really understanding the constant shortage of stock here, plenty of other "high value" brands with plenty of stock, yet the worlds largest manufacturer with plants across the globe can't keep any one model in decent supply for dealers.
Toyota is creating an artificial shortage to jack up prices.
All planed by Toyota. Do not know why consumers buy them. So many other choices
The Range Rover is #1??? Are you kidding me? It is possibly the most unreliable luxury SUV on the planet. They cost a fortune to own and maintain. Unbelievable!
I would never touch a land rover, they are ugly and over priced. I got a 2024 Honda civic touring burst pearl blue, I got a little discount, and totally love it.
"Many people want [this car], but the supply is not able to keep up." They can keep the supply up if they want to. But they're putting their resources into building cars nobody wants and then selling them at a loss, while the cars people want are at a premium. Beyond stupid.
Traverser might change a little the new one looks good
Trying to purchase a used car this summer for college. I am 18 years old and need an SUV size car for college as I am taking my things and going a few states away for college. Car prices are insane. They aren’t dropping much at all but I’m hoping I will be able to get something decent for under $20,000
Good reliable cars with lots of space include Civic Hatchback, Impreza hatchback, CX-5, RAV4, or maybe a Scion XB which is a Toyota.
Most prices have gone up in the last few weeks in the upper midwest, US. I'm looking but I'm not liking.
Lucky that Toyota RAV4 is cheap over there but here in Norway it's 70k$
Hello Shari, Please help...I am having issue with paint peeling off along the edge of the hood of my 2023 RAV4 XLE Hybrid. Also many scratches on the surface of the hood surface. The paint seem to be easily scratched due to very soft clear coat paint. I have been to the dealership twice to address the issue but they refused to do anything about it. Please advise what I should to about this problem. Thanking you in advance.
You should take it to a paint shop or detailing shop to diagnose whether it is a manufacturer defect with the paint. Get a second and third opinion. If you can prove the paint is defective, email Toyota head office and demand it be fixed under warranty. You'll need documentation for the diagnosis to show Toyota as evidence.
Mazda, hyundai and Kia doesnt have stock at all.
They do in California.
Range Rovers are in short supply due to issues with the manufacturer's facilities. TATA JLR is in the process of moving their traditional production line to India and have reduced factory output temporarily. The western facilities are being reconfigured for electric vehicles and staff trainings are in full swing.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
None and damn sure not any Land/Range Rover 😄
Will still be expensive, even after a so called huge discount. Then after that comes the markups.
The Titan is probably the most reliable on this list.
When Ford Australia introduced the AU Falcon in 1998 the car buying public hated them because they were so ugly , the vehicle repair industry coined the AU stands for awfully ugly, now 20 years later the young drivers are buying them because they are very cheap to purchase and cheap to repair
Will see how the prices go during the great financial crisis -- 2024. 🤑
We just got a RAV4 Hybrid. It had arrived at the dealer the day before, had only 5 miles on it.
prices will go down on stuff people dont want4Runners, Rav4, Corolla, CRV, Subarus are still bringing top-dollar. used EVs will cost owners disposal fees.
Camry
Be ready service the vehicle urself if the dealer has to drop their price.😏
How about honda crv hybrid?
The vehicles with the highest demand are the most reliable and affordable options. Look at how many of them are also sedans. Ford, GM and Stellantis are fools.
Land Rover? People can't wait to get a Land Rover? I think that the data is manipulated.
There is no trouble people cannot afford theses overpriced cars suv etc
TOYOTA RAV4 or COROLLA CROSS
Honda and Toyota dealerships with side stickers --- sorry, I am not interested. Also there are many features of which I simply do not want on the current cars, such as lane departure, camera pointed at my head to nanny me, cameras stuck to the windshield what makes replacement an all day job at triple the price, plastic parts dominating the under bonnet, CVT transmissions, turbo on 1.5 lt mini engines, automatic braking, monitors replacing physical knobs and buttons, lack of V6 and V8 choices, packages including unwanted, such as moonroofs, auto dimming mirrors costing three times the worth, as well as, blind spot monitors -- I assume people cannot adjust their mirrors these days. I know if I get one of these new gems of automotive complexity, with associated cost front to end, I will be switching off the crap. Ah ha, some items you switch off every time you start the journey -- how pleasing is that? Not so much! If the parts are available, the cars of the 1990's to early 2000's might be the best bet, though car safety is improving. If you find certain cars, made not so long ago, with multi-port injection, and old school transmissions, those too might be a good buy. Some Toyota and Hondas may be OK, but the dealerships, with side stickers, and fast talking BS sales people, is yet another story. I am impressed that our local Subaru dealership never went the side-sticker jack-up on pricing. Subaru might be an option. Good at safety, Subaru, like all the rest has one too many nannies on the vehicle, and I wish there was an option out on those, but this is a new world.
Add Mazda.
There are many life components to be concerned about, so a dependable ride is one worth having to keep you out of the service areas of car dealerships. Toyota, Toyota, Toyota.
Sorry, but there are many segments where Toyota is not #1, but Lexus, Mazda, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi etc.
Toyota lemonade 😂
Yes they can. But we’re not buying. Put them at $20K and watch zip off the lot!!
Lol I haven't started to watch the video yet but just the clickbaity screenshot when you rarely do those made me laugh.
Gotta try it 😂
#1 rover because thy don't make them fast not because people like them TOYOTA and HONDA is # 1 selling
I would not spend a dime, on any new car at this point. Especially not an EV. EVs are not even in the picture as far as I'm concerned. They could all be sold at cost and I still, wouldn't buy one.
Yet people love their EVs, Mach E owners especially love their vehicles often saying it's the best car they've ever owned due to the high build quality and low maintenance cost. No gas, no oil change, no complicated engine.
Used top Japanese cars are the best buy.
BEVs are a scam, new or used - but they are excellent for the dumbs believing the "green" propaganda.
Your comment shows your ignorance. This video is about slow sellers, not electrics. And only one of ten is electric.
Why the Telluride is not on this list because they sell like crazy
The main issue with the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer is not only the price, it also has poor reliability, and the looks are polarizing to some consumers.
Evs suck they don't have the efficiency of either a hybrid car or combustion car
What about the horrible Mustang Mocky. That car is a joke, I think there's a thousand day supply of those things rotting in dealer's lots all over the country. Car companies insist that they're not making cars anymore because customers want terribly expensive pickups and SUVs but that's total bullshit and Toyota is proving it with HIGH DEMAND for their relatively inexpensive and dependable CARS. The missus and I will be new Corolla owners by the end of the month.
I think all the dealers are still living in covid land, matter of fact i think they all still have covid.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why is the Hornet underwhelming? You seem to like putting it down for no apparent reason. Give me a break!
It's an absolute piece of crap
Chrysler products suck! That's why the Whore-net is underwhelming! DUH?
I'm most interested in the RAV4 and the Camry for now
Nobody wants the junk!
Thank you. Yes, I own a Toyota Corolla SE. It is a great car. 😊
I have a 2018 camry se which will not pair will not pair with my android
I traded in my kia optima ex hybrid for the camry all gas car.
Omg what a greater difference
.......................... NO...........Prices will Not Plummet for LEXUS & The Hard to get Best models i.e. the 450h+ "F" Sport as like in Econ 101 ...So for the #1 Best Vehicle running (3) YEARS at this writing by JD Power.
GM makes pure junk then wonders why people won't buy it.
I wonder who's advising the people at GM, Ford and Chrysler because those companies are totally clueless.
People want in order of importance:
Safe, RELIABLE, AFFORDABLE, practical, and fun to drive vehicles.
Reply
No honda CRV unusual
Sounds like a Toyota commercial,
The vehicles for smart people. 26 yrs. with my daily driver and really great...far better than the German cars it replaced.
They don't need a commercial
EV garbage isn't selling that's for sure..
There is nothing in this video that suggests your statement. While it is true that the growth is slower the Ev sales are still growing. I would say that 25% of my neighborhood is now in Ev. Meaning 25% have an Ev although they also have an ice car as well.
You're not telling us what we really want to know like electrical problems engine transmission problems consumers would like to know so I'm giving this video thumbs down👎
If the prices do plummet then that will mean the American people do have some pull in the market but I don't it will and I'm sure corporate greed will win out where it has in all the other industries that are prices gouging the American people... I say don't buy unless you get the price you want...
LOL! You have to wait for months to get a Sienna in Tampa Bay. What supply are you talking about?
