Gotta say every horror story I've ever heard of a Man bringing a woman back to the states either goes south because of 1 of 2 reasons. (I lived in asia for 10 years and been to all these countries, many many times, philippines being the most). Philippines has a huge teen pregnancy rate. They start smashing early there. Idk what your experience is, but I hope you are just not basing it solely on manila if that is where you went. Manila is the capital and HUB of tourism so OF COURSE you would expect more liberal mindedness. Go to more urban or rural areas and see if you come to the same conclusion.
