Geia sou file. Possibly the best review of this lens. Fantastic sample shots. As it goes, got it on order to slap on my A6700. Really looks well suited on your Nikon. Contrary to what a lot of people say about Chinese lenses, I think they offer exceptional value for money. Great video & content. Keep it up. ✊
Well done. Thanks for the great review. I like how you focused on real world usage instead of pixel peeping and complaining about the sharpness. I have a few of these cheap chinese lenses and always look out for ones that give the 'good nostalgic' feel rather than sharpness
Love this review. I'm going to get this lens for my Canon EOS R50. I'll be living in the Georgia mountains for a month and given the zero light pollution in the area, I'd be silly not to try and get some beautiful Milky Way shots!
I love the night images with the streak filter. you always try to bring something new. very innovative. how is the nikon for manual focusing? any particular setting you used? would you feel comfortable getting more expensive manual focus lenses for z mount?
Wow thank you! I'm glad you liked them and you feel that way 😁 The Zfc is quite good for manual focussing. The focus peaking works really well. Although recently I turned it off because it was really distracting to the point I was struggling to compose my images. So if I have the time I just zoom in to the image, make sure it's in focus and shoot. No fancy settings here. To be honest, I would love to try out voightlander lenses , but at this point I can't justify spending that much on a manual focus lens. I guess I will experiment more with vintage lenses the following months 😁
It's so nice that nowadays basically any type of lens is available for cheap. Yes sometimes we have to sacrifice autofocus or a little bit of sharpness but being able to try so many different lenses out is perfect for the photographic community. The fact that with 160$ I could create these images is a true statement to my point.
hey man - great video. wondering if this lens has zero distortion in video mode? i saw the little clip at the end - what's your body - Nikon? Im thinking of running a canon r6 with this...
what size blue streak filter did you use? I also have the TT artisan 50mm, what filter size should i use for that? i haven't been able to figure it out. thank you in advance and thank you for the video, just subscribed!
The 10mm uses 72mm filters. I would suggest to always get filters for your biggest lens and then with the help of step up rings adapt them to the smaller ones.
Thank you so much for your detail review. May I know which one do you recommend for astrophotography in APSC between this lens and Yongnuo 11mm lens? I cannot find any comparison between these two lens so I cannot decide what to buy. I am okay with Manual focus. Thnak you
Considering you need to have both lenses at f2.8 (that's their best aperture for astrophotography) the TTartisan performs better there. More sharpness in the middle of the image and clear corner's. The yongnuo corners suffer from chromatic aberration a lot. If you plan on shooting wide open though (which I wouldn't recommend because at f2.8 the sky is much better captured) then the yongnuo is the better choice. For me , the TTartisan is the obvious choice for astro. Cheaper, better build quality and better image quality at f2.8 were both lenses clear up. If for whatever reason you need af , skip on both of these and go with the viltrox 13mm.
You missed the big difference between this and most other 10mm lenses--this one is a rectilinear lens. Notice the LACK of curved lines on the edges of the frame.

Thanks for the video, Ilias! I visited Greece way back in 1989 and loved it. Might be time to go back.

Thats AWESOME! I would love to spend the summer in a remote location and photograph the night sky. Lucky you my friend!!
Another great video Ilias...I might have to add this lens to my collection...cheers!
Thank you Roger! Appreciate your feedback. I'll definitely bring this thing to every trip , just because of its small size
Great job Ilia! It's good to know what this lens is capable of. The one with the lake and the milkyway behind is sick 🤟
Thank you mate! Real world use is the most important thing for me and bringing this lens to lake doksa was the best decision 😁
@@IliasKoureas that's true. Also seeing the lens in different scenarios is helpful! Thanks for the content! Take care Ilia ✌️!
@@IliasKoureas what did you think about it for astro? Seen some say it wasn't the sharpest but looks usable to me?
@Jefferson-ly5qe it's very usable. I use it all the time. There are better lenses out there like the viltrox 13mm but I enjoy using this 10mmf2
Hey man this was another good video. Keep them coming. My favourite Milkyway photo was the first one with the street. Good job 👍🏾
Thank you my brother!! Will be doing many more milky way images this year! 😁✨
Thank you for mentioning the size of the lens hood for filters! (72mm)

Thank you for that llias, as you said, for that price you can't go wrong. Some of the light bursts were quality. Keep shooting.

@@IliasKoureas The 10mm (APSc) is what I am likely to get.

I find zero to no distortion. Of course if you add stabilization in post it might create artificial distortion
Which photograph was your favorite? Let me know if you want to see me exploring more mountains and lakes. I love doing it 😅
I LOVE THIS LENS I JUST GOT IT
Awesome, have fun with it 😁😁
Great video thanks. And cool channel.
Thank you 🙏🙏

No problem. Thanks!

Nope , I mentioned it on 5:56 of the video Steven. 🥂
In terms of sharpness how does this compare against the 7artisans 12mm F2.8?
Not sure about it , haven't used the 7artisans. But I can't complain at all about the sharpness. The results speak for themselves
