I've always liked the idea of a survival like game that takes place in Arkham city. where you're thrown into the prison on some small convenient store robbery charge and you have to survive all the violent lunatics in the prison. similar concept to fallout.
Love the concept, I am a Music Producer and would love to create the soundtrack for the game (I would take inspiration from the past games but add a darker tone to it). I am a big fan of the arkham games and have played them since I was a kid so I would love to take part in a passion project like this.
Bro I love your ambition but game development isn't that easy, especially when you're alone and don't have any experience prior, I suggest if possible, getting someone else or more involved in the project that have the same level of passion that you do. Yeah this game sounds great and all, but I’ve got a hundred different video game ideas that are just as fleshed out as this one just sitting in the back of my mind, and I would imagine that a lot of gamers out there could say the same. To say that game development is hard would be a massive understatement, and it’s something that any aspiring developer needs to remember.

What I would have suggested is build a few smaller games to get a little bit of experience then go into it. Sometimes just looking at how far you've come can remotivate you to keep pushing.

I have been I’ve been a game developer for a while now, I’ve worked in a couple big studios and released many games by myself at this point. I’ll give you probably the only thing I wish I learned early on. Don’t overwork yourself. I know this is a problem in other mediums but I think it’s probably the hardest thing to grapple with while making a game. There are so many things to do to finish any project of any size and all of them sound exciting and (at least for me) I can’t wait to start it all. But you are one person, you have to take things one at a time starting with the gameplay. Don’t even think about modeling, sound, lighting, or anything else unless it is integral to the core gameplay. Other than that, you seem really passionate about this project and I hope to see you succeed.
Side quests should teach you how to fight against heroes and be able to escape. Example rob the Wayne Tech. You rob the tech. Get a functioning grapling hook and the knife that can cuts batman wires.
Would the game have something like a fear meter for when the Batman or the other bat family arrive to stop you? Affect like the sides of the screen getting darker and your accuracy getting worse
I couldn't agree more, I find the Arkham games really comforting for as dark as they are the care and curation that's been put into these games as well as the obvious fun factor that really hits me
A few days ago i was thinking about how everyone has a comfort “thing”. Could be a show, videogame, movie, song. Just something they always fall back on even when theres new stuff out. Its really interesting, like even with a huge backlog of games I still go back and replay the same games over and over

To be honest I like this idea! Being able to explore Gotham as a common thug and seeing things from their eyes. Batman chasing you and coming after you should feel like the best horror game ever.
I fully support this. I recommend that you give spotlight to the other dark knights too like Robin and Nightwing. Make them powerful. Also, we need our own gotham knights storyline here. I created a gotham knights scenario where the knights are Azrael, Robin, Redhood, Nightwing and Batgirl. I really hope this ends up playing well because we do need more Arkham stories man.
I'm definetely in on that one! I've spent the past few years with learning and producing my own (partly batman themed) orchestral arrangements and this arkham-gang-type game is an idea I've also had for quite a while :)
Perhaps the main character could be the leader of the mutants gang in Gotham like from the dark knight returns. the story being about the mutant takeover, with the gang gradually getting bigger and holding more of an influence over the criminal underworld as the story progresses until the superhero’s and bat family have to put a stop to it, in the end leading to a boss battle with Batman as the finale.
I would absolutely buy and play this game. The idea sounds great and would definitely be fun. Another thing is that you could put Red Hood, Nightwing, and Batgirl (maybe??) along with batman to try to apprehend you. (Since Red Hood kills, you could have a game over if he gets you)
Maybe a hardcore mode similar to Origins' _"I Am The Night"_ Mode? I'm thinking something like a "three strikes" rule, where if you cause enough mayhem for the heroes to come after you twice, then Red Hood will start gunning for you on the third strike? And if he manages to kill you, then you have to restart the story all the way from the beginning?
I have no idea how this'll turn out, but the idea alone is just really fascinating. I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor, but as a piece of advice, attempt to find other mod creators that also would like to contribute to the project. Many hands make light work
This is literally the game that’s been stuck in my head since I was 10 years old. I can not tell you how happy this makes me and probably a lot of other people. But please, make sure this is backed up or something in case DC comes along and shuts it down because it feels like they will, (looking at the 1989 demo, cw arrowverse, and countless others)

Omg. That’s something I’ve wanted for so long, ever since the “Batman” jumpscare when you play as Jim Gordon in Arkham Knight. Since that very scary jumpscare, I’ve felt bad for the thugs who just want money, and had to turn to a life of crime instead of being homeless. And seeing your buddies just disappear when they were behind you a second ago, you know that Batman is here. They’ve seen, and most likely, felt him (his punches especially) many times. And since that jumpscare, I learned how truly scary he is. So I would love if the Batman part of this game would tap a bit into horror. I hate horror games, but would think that Batman would be worth playing the game. And finally a game where you play as someone not that important instead of one of the main characters! The idea is truly unique. Trust me, if I had money to spare, I would’ve done whatever I can to help. If I had any idea HOW to make a game, I would’ve loved to get in touch to help. And if in however many years it actually comes out, you know I’m buying it. Not to help a small (compared to many others) TH-cam channel, but seriously just because a game where you’re AGAINST a main character is what I’ve wanted for years, and as I said, more recently, against Batman. Arkham is also my favourite game series with Knight being my comfort game of sorts too with 7000+ hours. I can't explain how much I'd love to see this come to life.
I had an idea like this once except it takes place in Arkham city. You're basically a random guy who gets put in there as a prisoner and its basically a survival horror game with a tone and gameplay very similar to Condemned. You end up becoming something of an urban legend throughout the game for surviving and killing many other prisoners who come after you. Theres also many different customization options and bits of armor and weapons you can wear over your prison jump suit, and you basically end the game as a DC universe version of Frank Castle.
Dude this is what I’m talking about. I’ve loved the Arkham series all my life and seeing this really makes me happy. I don’t usually comment on videos but this one is special. Keep going, all this people are here to support you because your making a dream a reality that thousands of people are excited for.
The wanted system could work like this: -Tier 1: Chased by a small handful of police cars. Can be fought and escaped with relative ease, but still increases your wanted level if you fight, like GTA. -Tier 2: A large amount of police and a SWAT team is dispatched to stop you. Can still be outrun, but are much harder to fight. -Tier 3: The Batsignal can be seen in the sky. Batman is now after you. He'd be a lot like Mr. X from Resident Evil. If you damage him enough, he'll use a smoke pellet and escape. If you're in a car chase, he'll pursue you in The Batmobile.
Good stuff. I suggest you look into other people who have replicated Arkham onto other programs. I think you can just look up "Arkham Unity/Unreal Engine" and they may have some tutorials/insight of how they got the mechanics and models from the games.
I have someone that’s actually a very good mod creator for Arkham knight that recently just got on board we’re really in like the planning process I don’t see anything really kicking off until late April. By then I’ll probably be releasing update videos on the progress because everyone involved is going to be very busy with work. I’ll have plenty of time away from work and I’ll be able to work on it and make video updates in the summer.

First of, I find what you’re doing to be very inspiring to me. I’ve always loved games and have always wanted to be a video game designer since I was 7. I’m currently trying to get my GED and a major in digital design and product, but after graduating, I’m hoping to find a good college that has a video game design major so I can understand how to create the characters and background. I actually downloaded UE4 on my laptop, but I have no idea how or where to create my characters at so I can have them as meshes for the UE4 models. I also had an idea for a type of condemned clone, but with more Arkham undertones and over the shoulder melee/stealth combat. I hope you manage to get this game running and put out to the people who will enjoy it. I know I will.
I REALLY LOVE the idea for this game! Getting to play as a thug and seeing the underworld of Gotham with all of its villains sounds really exciting plus, the idea of bringing together all of these areas of Gotham is interesting. All of it is REALLY AMBITIOUS. If it have to give you any feedback based on the pitch, I'd say that the idea of doing missions for each villains gang and then rising up the ranks MIGHT get repetitive, because like you mentioned this was a little inspired by Mafia 3 which suffered from a similar issue. But that's just my feedback based on this video and not how the final product turns out.

An actual Arkham asylum game which gonna take place in the Asylum and we gonna play as some patients/villains. The game would be called Arkham Madhouse and we would play with 3 villains (or more). Every villain will have a different storyline and they're purpose will be to escape the asylum and cause a breakout! I have more details on my mind and if you're interested I could tell you the whole plan I've imagined. I really want to play this. I have always wanted another Arkham game but focused on the villains. What would be cool was if your character turned into a crime boss or if you could create your own villain.
I really like this idea, bringing that Arkham Underworld app game to life on Unreal Engine 5. I'll definitely be looking forward to this when it eventually comes out, see how people react to it. My personal suggestion: being able to play as the batman villains, and using their own specific skills and powers to your advantage. Give some variety to the game where your not just playing as a regular goon all the time.
There is a person who was making a remake of simpsons hit and run where he was doing the same thing as you with unreal, he shows in his devlog how he got the entire map into unreal as well as day and night cycles, traffic, crowd ai, loading zones, everything you need to get the city set up. Highly recommend watching it as it will give you an idea of at least 1 way of doing it. Cant wait to see how this turns out.
I like how the first thing he does is defend that he has a life, trains like batman, and is super busy. Nothing wrong with having a passion or hobby that consumes hours. We've all been there. lol
I think if you made asylum the most competitive war of just prisoners in the game after completing all the missions and just having dumb things to do like sneaking to plant a bomb to get hostiles would be fun. Or just lots of events to play after the game is done so it doesn't feel empty like Arkham Origins did.
I can just imagine like a stealth mission, but you have to hide from batman, and it would be really hard and Heat be up like ongargoyles in up above while you would be on the ground having to hide like in dumpsters or something like that
The confrontations with Batman or night wing would be full of suspense knowing we couldn’t beat them we would get good punches in but little effect so we gotta escape n we all know how fast Batman is lol that would be intense running from Batman while he using his detective tech following your every step
I feel like if a game like this were ever to be made, it would definitely have the premise of a power vacuum in Gotham after the death of batman (if it's connected to the arkham games) In my personal opinion, it just fits like a glove and seems like a simple story

You got a full community of support, but if you are doing this alone, I recommend finding a good team, maybe make a video on a possible application for others who are fully familiar with game design to back you up on your journey.🔥
It has potential, one thing I think could be worked on a bit more is the story. I like the overall idea of bringing down crime bosses and whatnot, but what if instead of going through missions to enter a major gang you start off with a small operation and as you complete missions in a specific starting region you gain notoriety and grow into an organization eventually drawing the attention of that region's major villain. Then that villain would challenge the player in some way and upon player victory the villain would join and give the player an ability to use in later missions as well as joining in later missions. The ultimate goal and the end result would be the same. One other thing could be instead of "oh you failed, game over" the player gets arrested and thrown in Arkham Asylum where they have to create a breakout scenario to get back to the city. As for Batman, what if he is like a super boss that has a chance of appearing every mission (percent would vary based on the mission itself and if batman recently appeared in the mission prior) and each time you defeat him he gains a new ability while the player gets some sort of reward for beating him. (Even this isn't a complete idea and it is in no way a demand of what your game should be, this is only a suggestion and mainly just to write out my own thoughts and if you like some or all of the details feel free to implement them in any way you see fit.)😁 I always love to see people trying to make video games and I wish you luck because video games are so hard to make, but of course when they turn out well they are just as rewarding.👍
First off - brilliant idea. Best of luck making this into something awesome! 😁I can't lie, I've always wanted to explore the whole Gotham City region. I can see myself standing on top of Wayne Tower, gliding over to GPCD, flit to the remains of Arkham City and drive on up to Arkham Island for a nostalgic tour. I'd particularly like to see the old Asylum, post-City with remnants of TYGER's helicopter base and Ivy's plants. Thought we'd get that in _Knight,_ but sadly not. Even a little glimpse of Arkham East where the mansion sits or actually would have been great. Secondly - I didn't even know about the Arkham mobile games 'til now. I'm a bit fascinated by them since you've brought them up. Might look into them.
Please don't give up on this dream. I believe in you and I genuinely want to try out the game. I'm proud of you for trying this and being so ambitious. It will not be easy, but if you keep going, anything is possible. Have fun most importantly, please take breaks, but most importantly have fun while doing this. The idea is insane, and I like the idea of the main character being a criminal. Obviously, there will be missions where you will be robbing banks and taking over certain areas in the map. So my idea is there will be some missions where you will face other gangs and some missions where you will be hunted down by Batman. The Batman hunting part better be a horror style gameplay. In my opinion it would be incredible to see myself and players jumpscared by Batman.
I have a question would the game include a character customization of some kind? The idea of the game in question sounds pretty interesting and unique as well. I hope you keep up the great work with the project!

This is literally the game that’s been stuck in my head since I was 10 years old. I can not tell you how happy this makes me and probably a lot of other people.
But please, make sure this is backed up or something in case DC comes along and shuts it down because it feels like they will, (looking at the 1989 demo, cw arrowverse, and countless others)
I honestly expected to look down and see a big youtuber with 100k+ subs, and Im really surprised, if you keep making videos this good, you will hit 100k in no time

Omg. That’s something I’ve wanted for so long, ever since the “Batman” jumpscare when you play as Jim Gordon in Arkham Knight. Since that very scary jumpscare, I’ve felt bad for the thugs who just want money, and had to turn to a life of crime instead of being homeless. And seeing your buddies just disappear when they were behind you a second ago, you know that Batman is here. They’ve seen, and most likely, felt him (his punches especially) many times. And since that jumpscare, I learned how truly scary he is. So I would love if the Batman part of this game would tap a bit into horror. I hate horror games, but would think that Batman would be worth playing the game. And finally a game where you play as someone not that important instead of one of the main characters! The idea is truly unique. Trust me, if I had money to spare, I would’ve done whatever I can to help. If I had any idea HOW to make a game, I would’ve loved to get in touch to help. And if in however many years it actually comes out, you know I’m buying it. Not to help a small (compared to many others) TH-cam channel, but seriously just because a game where you’re AGAINST a main character is what I’ve wanted for years, and as I said, more recently, against Batman. So yeah, just add that “horror” factor when Batman is after you, and it would be even better than some Arkham games. Just one question. Will the Batman thing be like the stars in GTA? (He comes when you break too many laws or something)

I had an idea like this once except it takes place in Arkham city. You're basically a random guy who gets put in there as a prisoner and its basically a survival horror game with a tone and gameplay very similar to Condemned. You end up becoming something of an urban legend throughout the game for surviving and killing many other prisoners who come after you. Theres also many different customization options and bits of armor and weapons you can wear over your prison jump suit, and you basically end the game as a DC universe version of Frank Castle.

The wanted system could work like this:
-Tier 1: Chased by a small handful of police cars. Can be fought and escaped with relative ease, but still increases your wanted level if you fight, like GTA.
-Tier 2: A large amount of police and a SWAT team is dispatched to stop you. Can still be outrun, but are much harder to fight.
-Tier 3: The Batsignal can be seen in the sky. Batman is now after you. He'd be a lot like Mr. X from Resident Evil. If you damage him enough, he'll use a smoke pellet and escape. If you're in a car chase, he'll pursue you in The Batmobile.
Good stuff. I suggest you look into other people who have replicated Arkham onto other programs. I think you can just look up "Arkham Unity/Unreal Engine" and they may have some tutorials/insight of how they got the mechanics and models from the games.
I have someone that’s actually a very good mod creator for Arkham knight that recently just got on board we’re really in like the planning process I don’t see anything really kicking off until late April. By then I’ll probably be releasing update videos on the progress because everyone involved is going to be very busy with work. I’ll have plenty of time away from work and I’ll be able to work on it and make video updates in the summer.

@@tanflo I’m not really trying to streamline anything I want to take my time with it like I said in the video I wouldn’t be surprised if it took me years to accomplish it’s also just a very good thing For the community there are a lot of Arkham fans that want to see a game like this. I’m hoping that regardless of how the game turns out even if I receive a lawsuit I’m hoping that the Arkham community can still push towards this goal

First of, I find what you’re doing to be very inspiring to me. I’ve always loved games and have always wanted to be a video game designer since I was 7. I’m currently trying to get my GED and a major in digital design and product, but after graduating, I’m hoping to find a good college that has a video game design major so I can understand how to create the characters and background.
I actually downloaded UE4 on my laptop, but I have no idea how or where to create my characters at so I can have them as meshes for the UE4 models.
I also had an idea for a type of condemned clone, but with more Arkham undertones and over the shoulder melee/stealth combat.
I hope you manage to get this game running and put out to the people who will enjoy it. I know I will.

I REALLY LOVE the idea for this game! Getting to play as a thug and seeing the underworld of Gotham with all of its villains sounds really exciting plus, the idea of bringing together all of these areas of Gotham is interesting. All of it is REALLY AMBITIOUS.
If it have to give you any feedback based on the pitch, I'd say that the idea of doing missions for each villains gang and then rising up the ranks MIGHT get repetitive, because like you mentioned this was a little inspired by Mafia 3 which suffered from a similar issue. But that's just my feedback based on this video and not how the final product turns out.

I'd like to tell you a game idea I have. An actual Arkham asylum game which gonna take place in the Asylum and we gonna play as some patients/villains. The game would be called Arkham Madhouse and we would play with 3 villains (or more). Every villain will have a different storyline and they're purpose will be to escape the asylum and cause a breakout! I have more details on my mind and if you're interested I could tell you the whole plan I've imagined. Sorry for my mistakes but I'm from Greece so english is my second language 😅

I really like this idea, bringing that Arkham Underworld app game to life on Unreal Engine 5. I'll definitely be looking forward to this when it eventually comes out, see how people react to it.
My personal suggestion: being able to play as the batman villains, and using their own specific skills and powers to your advantage. Give some variety to the game where your not just playing as a regular goon all the time.

There is a person who was making a remake of simpsons hit and run where he was doing the same thing as you with unreal, he shows in his devlog how he got the entire map into unreal as well as day and night cycles, traffic, crowd ai, loading zones, everything you need to get the city set up. Highly recommend watching it as it will give you an idea of at least 1 way of doing it. Cant wait to see how this turns out.

I like how the first thing he does is defend that he has a life, trains like batman, and is super busy. Nothing wrong with having a passion or hobby that consumes hours. We've all been there. lol
I think if you made asylum the most competitive war of just prisoners in the game after completing all the missions and just having dumb things to do like sneaking to plant a bomb to get hostiles would be fun. Or just lots of events to play after the game is done so it doesn't feel empty like Arkham Origins did.

I can just imagine like a stealth mission, but you have to hide from batman, and it would be really hard and Heat be up like ongargoyles in up above while you would be on the ground having to hide like in dumpsters or something like that

I feel like if a game like this were ever to be made, it would definitely have the premise of a power vacuum in Gotham after the death of batman (if it's connected to the arkham games)

It has potential, one thing I think could be worked on a bit more is the story. I like the overall idea of bringing down crime bosses and whatnot, but what if instead of going through missions to enter a major gang you start off with a small operation and as you complete missions in a specific starting region you gain notoriety and grow into an organization eventually drawing the attention of that region's major villain. Then that villain would challenge the player in some way and upon player victory the villain would join and give the player an ability to use in later missions as well as joining in later missions. The ultimate goal and the end result would be the same. One other thing could be instead of "oh you failed, game over" the player gets arrested and thrown in Arkham Asylum where they have to create a breakout scenario to get back to the city. As for Batman, what if he is like a super boss that has a chance of appearing every mission (percent would vary based on the mission itself and if batman recently appeared in the mission prior) and each time you defeat him he gains a new ability while the player gets some sort of reward for beating him. (Even this isn't a complete idea and it is in no way a demand of what your game should be, this is only a suggestion and mainly just to write out my own thoughts and if you like some or all of the details feel free to implement them in any way you see fit.)😁 I always love to see people trying to make video games and I wish you luck because video games are so hard to make, but of course when they turn out well they are just as rewarding.👍
First off - brilliant idea. Best of luck making this into something awesome! 😁I can't lie, I've always wanted to explore the whole Gotham City region. I can see myself standing on top of Wayne Tower, gliding over to GPCD, flit to the remains of Arkham City and drive on up to Arkham Island for a nostalgic tour.
I'd particularly like to see the old Asylum, post-City with remnants of TYGER's helicopter base and Ivy's plants. Thought we'd get that in _Knight,_ but sadly not. Even a little glimpse of Arkham East where the mansion sits or actually would have been great.
Secondly - I didn't even know about the Arkham mobile games 'til now. I'm a bit fascinated by them since you've brought them up. Might look into them.

Please don't give up on this dream. I believe in you and I genuinely want to try out the game. I'm proud of you for trying this and being so ambitious. The idea is insane, and I like the idea of the main character being a criminal. Obviously, there will be missions where you will be robbing banks and taking over certain areas in the map. So my idea is there will be some missions where you will face other gangs and some missions where you will be hunted down by Batman. The Batman hunting part better be a horror style gameplay. In my opinion it would be incredible to see myself and players jumpscared by Batman.
