    Are we going back to the 1980’s??? That’s when short rods were popular right?! The short rods don’t help you get over another anglers rod right?

      Every major big hitting sport boat in the fleet crew is buying these rods and using them calling it “mandatory bluefin gear” moving into 2024. Readapt or get left behind

    Hi guys, new to that... Why you prefer single speed reels? What about a larger accuarate valiant 2 speed reel, wouldn't you say it can be a benefit having the option to go to low gear?

    I have a Shimano Stella SW 18k paired with a Megalodon PE6-10. What size braid should I spool it with and is it ok to jig those 200g-300g jigs with a spinning reel and rod? Please help, thank you I’m advance.

    • @Westcoastjiggerz
      @Westcoastjiggerz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can go with 65lb for more line capacity or 80lb for strength. I would probably say 80lb since the reel has strong drag. You should be able to fish the 200-300g no problem.

      @@Westcoastjiggerz first of all ty for your reply back I’m a fan of you guys because of all the advice and informations you give I can listen to you guys forever. Every time I go to a tackle shop and tell them I’m planning to use my Stella spinning set for jigging I get a lot of head shaking and I shouldn’t do it but I’ve seen a lot of spinning anglers landed so many nice size Bluefins and other species.
      I wanted to give up with the heavy set for tuna fishing because my left arm is not strong due to physical reasons and can’t hold my Rail Rod set up for too long and that style of dropping down and reeling it up fast just burnt me out quick and that’s why I wanted to switch to a Heavy spinning set up. But now that you guys showed how the Megalodon rod works I might grab a Megalodon conventional reel set up because they are lighter than the rail rods.
      For the spinning rod do I use the same jigging techniques as the conventional? As you guy shown in this video?
      I’ve just received my 150, 200, and 250g KB jigs that I ordered on WCJ website. I have full day trip on October 20th on the San Diego and can’t wait to use them.
      Any advice to land any size fish would be greatly appreciated. You guy are awesome and please continue to teach us more about fish because people will pass your knowledge onto our families and friends! Thank so much again WCJ!!!👏👏👏

    A question on the ocea jigger, do you use the HG or 4.1? Also for the rod, do you recommend anything less than 6’? I see some guys cutting down from 5’6 to 5’3”

    • @Westcoastjiggerz
      @Westcoastjiggerz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ocea Jigger 4:1, the shorter rods are good options. Makes it quite easier to work the jig. We jig with rods as short as 5'2". With the shorter during battle you have to pay close attention to the angle of your line a bit more.

    Except keep the fish outta the running gears..../ prop n rudder....that's why you fish a longer rod.......yea it's a new deal and I've seen it work......allot more work for the same result...on a rod you can't lay on the rail with acid wrap.....meh I'm good
