I've always wondered about basic strategy's assumption of a dealer ten hole card. There are 16 ten value cards k, 32 actual face number cards and 4 aces per deck. I understand that even "basic" strategy is based upon serious math but there is a 4/13th chance of a ten hold card, an 8/13th chance of a number card and a 1/13th chance of an ace as the hole card. Even given the wonderment, basic strategy is a must for the casual player.
I only was once in a casino to watch a musical (Buddy Holly) so I never gambled. I don't have the desire to start that but I like to learn new things. You never know if you need the knowladge of black jack. Must search if you have poker asmr videos too.

at 37:41. dealer hits on a 14 when we have a 13, but since he already has more than us, why would the dealer hit, wouldn't he automatically win since he went from 13 to 14 and we had 13? I would think dealer would stand unless he's letting us win
@@zacharymaddox3345 the rules wouldn't dictate that the dealer should choose to win over possibly busting and letting the player win? I thought casino's were more money hungry than that lol
@@DeadSpacedOutyou choose to stay according to basic strategy because of the way dealer has to behave. If dealer could behave the way you describe then people would hit the 13 but that's not the rules
@@charlesearley9698 how many people actually play according to strategy though, most people I know actually don't and actually lose money as a result and that's part of the reason things like Casino's stay in business lol

Dealer has a set of rules they play by. They must hit until they get to 17 or higher, in which case they stand.
