I’m a SONE & I wouldn’t recommend “the boys” for anyone who would ask me for suggestions, yes the boys is legendary in its own time & it achieved so many things ,but it’s not a song I would listen to very often + snsd is one of these groups you shouldn’t judge by one song because they’re SO VERSATILE its crazy

The Boys is one of the most legendary KPOP girl group's concept ever. SNSD also reached a new height when they released The Boys as the album eventually became the best-selling KPOP album in 2011. Can you imagine, SNSD a girl group, beat out all the other singers including boy groups and they managed to become the best-selling artist that year? Something that happened only once in KPOP's history when SNSD grabbed the grand prize for album of the year at Golden Disc Award and Seoul Music Award and they're still the only girl group that had ever achieved that. SNSD's influence back was so iconic and even till this day, their brand is still very popular among general public.
Hi Aaron I can understand that you don't like "old music" kinda vibes because it's the same for me, but SNSD has a special place in my heart since it was the first group that I stan (along with SuJu) but growing up I'm now more interested by NCT and Red Velvet haha. BUT you really really should react to :
- I got a boy (it's like their anthem, they made so many achievements with this one)
- Mr. Mr. (vocals here omggg)
- Gee (it's a cute song, Taeyeon HATES that song but it's their most famous one, EVERY girlsgroup did a cover of it)
- Genie (it's an old but GOLD song, still one of my favorite and I live for Taeyeon's vocals there)
- All night (one of SONEs favorite, it's one of their most recent comeback)
- Lil touch (most recent comeback, it's a sub-unit but the song is very catchy you might like it)
- Their japanese tracks are ALL very good & iconic even though I think maybe you will not like it
- TTS : a sub-unit made of Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun the three main vocals, they deliver vocals in all their songs!

So hype for soshi. This was superrrr popular at the time cause it was after soshi went on like a year long hiatus with such a dark concept for the first time. Super iconic. U should def react to a guide to get familiar with the group and the girls individually! Songs like this and I got a boy weren’t super loved by the gp but were iconic and created a wave of influence for future gg to experiment for more western sounds as well as different types of music

@@carmenmacias6077 yess! but still this was more girlboss concept whereas run devil run was quite literally dark/devil concept, plus it was a repackage so it didn't get AS much attention as the boys which was a full album release
When it comes to 2nd gen groups, there’s a few songs you won’t like at all or maybe they will grow on you the more you listen to them, at least that was my case but I would say the majority of these groups’ songs are very catchy and I really like them, personally my favorite 2nd gen group is Shinee

When you listen to music from previous generations of kpop, especially Girls Generation, you should keep in mind that everything is experimental. What is successful today and very polished, in the past it was completely risky, a long shot... and that is exactly why it sounds so different.

I really come to understand if you don't like it more when you are used to kpop now that it is more taken to current music as well. GIRLS GENERATION have very good songs and they revolutionized kpop a lot. After all those years, this is still a legendary for me. Every comeback Girls’ Generation proved that they are caller NGG, Legends and Queens for a reason. GG is one of the groups that screams versatility. GG has songs that really can’t get you the first time, but it will grow on you. Thank you for your honest opinion tho, hope we’ll see some more GG reacts 😊
I hope you also react to their debut song, "Into the New World", it was also Girls Generation's favorite song as they said themselves. This song is mostly covered by new girl groups nowadays. And also, it was also played in rallys for like lgbtq+ rights, women empowerment, etc.

I remember when this comeback was announced, all other artists moved back their comeback date because they don’t stand a chance competing. It was a legendary and most high budgeted video of that time.
You can’t judge SNSD from only one song because they’re very versatile and experimental. 😄 But whatever they do becomes a hit. So for current reactors i understand if they dont like it cause they’ve heard many evolutions of songs impoved (actually inspired by them) so this sounds average. But it was very mindblowing and exceeding expectations at that time. 😁

I remember when they were performing The Boys on a late night show and also on a morning show, I think, here in the US (can’t remember how many shows they did out here promoting The Boys). It was so exciting for me witnessing all that in early 2012. Back then I was the only one in my family to be into K-Pop, so I must’ve looked crazy being excited while my family was clueless of what’s happening.

Hey Aaron, whenever you want to react to something else other than red velvet a mess series, there’s these episodes called “Bu:Quest of Red Velvet” there’s 8 of them in total, around 16 min long each and don’t worry you won’t get blocked if you react to them on TH-cam, also these episodes are the most recent content we’ve had from the girls so Wendy isn’t there but they still mention her whenever they can (it gets emotional towards the last episode), and I think there’s a lot of episodes of red velvet in idol room or weekly idol on TH-cam you can react to too:D

I also one of the fans that recommend SNSD reaction before, although I was worried that you would dont like it as much as the kpop music nowadays, but it's ok tho, I still very excited to see you react to SNSD and shinee or super junior those legendary kpop artist. Because SM artist music always unique and different in their own way, and always fresh, so if there is one song or any songs that you dont like is ok, everyone have different taste on music, and we all know that you didnt have a bad meaning on that, we all like your honest, so dont worried for that.
