    Tim, I went down to my hunting lease yesterday. They are cutting timber on the 5000 acres we lease. The timber guys were good enough to let me go by them and get one of my ladder stands off of a pine tree I’m sure they were going to cut. On the way out, I stoped and talked to one of guys. He told me I could watch if I would not get in the way. I took him up on it. It is really amazing to watch. He even pulled a couple of small red oaks up close so we could use them for firewood at the camp. Super people. Thanks. Y’all have a good-un!

    Good looking machines. On that buncher does the house have a manifold like a excavator so it can 360 or is it like a Timbco were you can swing all the way around but have to swing back the other way to keep from pulling the hoses apart?

    I'm originally from the mountains of South Western Virginia, the Appalachian coal fields. Even though most of the timber must be hand cut. You can use a track buncher in some places. What I would do is run the dozer out ahead and punch little roads in to the steep timber, that helped the buncher man a lot. Of course now that I log down South, I don't have to do things like that to often anymore.

    ???? -- In the Tigercat LX830D, are there track and tip sensors in the cab to show how close a tip-over might be (like a warning system)? It looks like with a self-leveling cab it might be difficult to tell if the machine is about to tip. ????

Ive run a chainsaw quite a bit because we burn a lot of wood every year and I have a husqvarna 455 that I use the most along with a stihl ms310. I have a few trees that need to be dropped, the one has a back lean. Any advice before I tackle this? And is the bore technique for the more experienced? Thank you, keep the great content coming man. My dad had a friend that cut small under brush and chipped it on site for fuel wood. He worked in Mississippi and Alabama. They would ahead of timber crews before the timber was cut,they said that by doing this the under growth would not come back as fast. Are there anyone still doing that?

  • @jasonrowe268
    @jasonrowe268 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You don’t need to keep an eye on the fuel usage on that 635. I bet if you were running two skidders using less fuel they’d still work out using more than just it by itself to pull the same amount of wood.

      830D is about 72,500 roughly , Deere 859M is nearly 80,000 . Closer to Tigercats 870 size . Depending on how each is outfitted of course . Longer tracs , counter weights and cutter heads ,fuel capacity etc . Retired logger ,just trying to help you out .

I run non leveling Deere 903 Deere buncher and you can be on a pretty dirty side hill with a lot bigger wood than that and dumping down hill she will come right up off the ground and you just dump and keep goin. I’ve slid down hills and had the buncher spin around sideways. But us canadaians might just be a lot more crazy
