      @@darrencurtisuk yes sorry, I mean cost of food for the trip? Camping ⛺️ sites if not wild camping , do you have to pay for certain access .
      Obviously you would pay for hotel/B&B for example the The Westhighland Way has various campsites and B&B on offer.
      Hope that makes sense 😁

Even if I only do a couple of days hikking, I always end up with at least 10kg in my pack😂😅, my gear is definitely not the lightest one I guess!!, only my tent and mat are lightweight 🙃, and I always carry lots of water just in case!!!...

      Hi Mike. Yes there were loads attempting it for the first 3 or 4 days. It's certainly gaining in popularity, which is why I wanted to do it before it becomes as packed as the WHW

      @@darrencurtisuk that’s certainly the impression I got, on one of the online groups there is lots of chat about ‘ all the great people hikers had met on the trail' whereas it had always seemed the sort of hike where you could go a day without seeing anyone. It’s still on my bucket list but largely because of the wilderness experience which is so hard to find in the UK, it will lose some of its magic of it gets busy. Maybe it’s a Covid blip, there were certainly lots of Australians and American hitting the C2C in May that had their plans delayed by a year or two due to the pandemic. Anyhow I’m really looking forward to the rest of your vlogs - you have a real skill for bringing us along with you, warts and all which makes you one of my favourite TH-camrs 👍🏻

    • @darrencurtisuk
      @darrencurtisuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the Garmin 6 Pro. Fits nicely on the wrist.
      Tried on the 6X Pro, but is was massive!
      I considered the Solar but dismissed it, as we barely get any sun! The 6 Pro battery is plenty good enough

      Use the Coastliner bus service, its really good, a bus every 30 mins running from Cromer to Hunstanton.

    You did well on the first day .This is the first time I ve seen you toting a heavy weight.
    I call 12 kgs heavy a sI m an ultralighter. but at least you don t carry water and every day you can lower it a kg maybe as the food disappears . I m not happy in how wet your feet got , and not sure if none waterproof Altra shoes are the best choice as wet feet is bad for blisters which can end the walk .Think I d go for the most waterproof Scapa s and gaiters and waterproof socks
    Over 20 ( 23 I think ) miles with 12 kgs is prob the hardest day you have had.The Pennine Way awaits you if you crack this one
    .I m over70 now so I can t tackle these sorts of walks doing over 20 miles a day as its too exhausting especially with plenty of ascent.
    I do the Cleveland Way every year and thats hard enough with lots of very steep 1 in 3 s on the coastal section.Thats another one for you to try in the future.Its harder than people think .
