Speaking for myself, as an older, yet still competitive triathlete, I only run 2-3 days/wk, and even then only 5-7 miles per (with some hill and speed work included.) I focus more on moderate weight/resistance training. Helps with overall endurance, and saves a lot of wear and tear on the legs/joints.

I’m always amazed and impressed how young women track athletes are so comfortable in their bodies. A lot of 20 year old girls would be horrified to stand there and be interviewed in a track tights and singlet and no make up. It’s actually pretty cool
