Hello guys, we are back with yet another most requested video. This time we are showcasing how to unlock/root Nokia G-2425G-A GPON ONT provided with Airtel Xstream so that we can unlock all its features. We'll also set up Internet WAN profile in this video.

Is there a way mac of lan could be changed? I could see slightly different mac in XML so wasn't sure.
I'm not sure myself, maybe you'll be able to change it once you get root access.
What's your use case for changing LAN MAC?
@@geekytwins some ISP have mac binding to DHCP, they assign IP only if Mac address matches.
So no internet unless until I change mac to the registered one.

Navjot ji, airtel uses VLAN mapping which is why many face PADI errors, since 100 doesn't work at all. Can you make a video about using UART of G7 to discover the VLAN ID of one's connection?
Hello brdr, I'll very soon try to get a spare G7 and then use UART to check if I'm able to do VLAN scan.
Till then, I suggest you get G3v1, it has inbuilt VLAN scan feature.
If the same ONT locked by Tata Play Fiber (ISP), then the unlocking procedures will be same as you have shown with Airtel?
Nope, TPF has a more locked down firmware in their Nokia so it's not possible to unlock those using this method.
Hi brother. I recently moved to a new house where, unfortunately, Airtel has not yet set up their fiber internet network. So, I have opted Jio Fiber. My problem is that the Jio Fiber router has very low signal strength and doesn’t reach the 1st floor. I still have my Airtel Fiber WiFi router from my previous connection and house. My question- If I follow this tutorial and unlock my the Airtel Fiber WiFi router, will I be able to use it as a range extension for my Jio Fiber WiFi router by connecting both through LAN?
Hello brother, you don't need to unlock your Airtel ONT to use it as a range extender. You merely need to disable its DHCP server and bring its IP in the correct subnet.

No, unfortunately not!
After you root it, do you think its possible to change the DNS in the WAN settings ?

Hi, currently i am using this router as bridge mode as default as provided by airtel. I am using this router with Asus router. Since last 2 to 3 years, I was using some old Nokia router in which I could do the manual settings, but recently my net suddenly stopped working and they changed the ONT router with this model and they configured it into the bridge mode . But since then my servers behind my own router showing that port 80 is closed, I read somewhere in the forums that that you have to request the Airtel to open port. Will unlocking give added benefit to open a port in the router? I know after unlocking, I can switch settings of this router into bridge mode, static mode or dynamic IP mode. What Airtel guys told me that now routers can be only be switched to bridge mode by backend Airtel Team only,. Even if you do the bridge mode manually on the router, it will not work. Airtel technical staff also told me that that to open the port of the router, you have to file a request to Airtel customer care. Can you help me on this?

No sir i have already bought STATIC IP from airtel for last 3-4 years. Earlier it was working great. Recently they changed my old ONT with this nokia ONT. Airtel configured it to dynamic ip and then on request for bridge mode , back end team reconfigured it to some knock mode or bridge mode. Now i am using bridge mode but settings in ONT are greyed as dynamic ip. Settings on my own asus router are configured as static ip ,given by airtel , but settings on ONT router are greyed out as dynamic ip. Since then my port 80 is closed. Thats why asking you. What if after unlocking i configure it as static ip and then put if into bridge mode
Thank you Sir for reply. Now my ONT is unlocked and I’m using in Bridge mode with all the default settings of Airtel deleted with lan 4 port as Bridge mode, and internet is the working fine. but port 80 is still closed. Maybe Airtel is blocking it.

@@geekytwins , My server needs port 80 to renew “ssl” certificate from “Let’s Encrypt “. This issue came up when they reconfigured my ONT settings. Port 80 is already forwarded on my asus and server. One more thing i need to ask. Can i make it back to original airtel state, in same method , as airtel engineers might visit me to check router settings? I have back up of original config file

Hello Hemant brdr, each ONT has a separate WiFi password, afaik.
So, I suggest you get an ethernet dongle to proceed with the other steps.
Can we make it back to original or locked state of Airtel if we have backed up config file.?

i have the same router but it's from a local isp, there is no setting to allow telnet and nether i have setting to backup my config. what should i do?
Then that's a problem. Check if all the settings are greyed out. If not, your ONT is probably already unlocked.
@@geekytwins All settings related to network settings are grayed out even after a hard reset. I want to use this router as a Access Point , as this is a spare router.

You only need to remove that from the TelnetSshAccount section and you should be golden.

How long does it take for it to say "Import completed". Mine just freezes after clicking import
It takes like 20 seconds at max, before the router reboots. Also, name the config file file to config.cfg before uploading.

That's not possible bruh, there's no WDS bridging capability in this router.

I checked my friend's TPF Nokia, it's locked down to the hilt, so I'm afraid this technique wouldn't work on it.

Hello bro, you need to enable LAN telnet access first on your Nokia ONT by going to Security -> Access Control menu, as shown in the video.

Brdr, that's because WiFi credentials get reset to factory default ones. Use a LAN cable to configure after hard reset.
After unlocking, I can access the internet through my local ISP.

It should be possible to do so, Kunal brdr, if we're able to clone the WAN MAC of the JioFiber HGW in this Nokia ONT. I'm not sure how to do it though. Will explore more and check.
@@geekytwins yes, i am using jio ont thirds party ont (tplink G3 only) without original jiofiber router like cloning GPON Serial No & WAN Mac Address & VLAN ID .. then it works with Automatic DHCP ip address from jio server...

Bilkul kr skte hain brdr, you just have to ask Excitel to bind the WAN MAC and GPON SN of your Nokia ONT to your connection.

After unlock Nokia Router 2425-G, how to use this as wireless repeater/extender?
@@9506himanshu To use it as a wireless repeater,:
1. Change the LAN IP address of the ONT to something in your main router's subnet, e.g., if your main router's IP is 192.168.1.1, change the IP address of the ONT to 192.168.1.2.
2. Disable DHCP on the ONT
3. Connect the LAN port of the main router to the LAN port of the ONT and that's it.
