    Dude, I just want to thank you for your content. It helps me to realize how a 140kg man can work himself to do push-ups and stop going to the gym and practically break his body by working with weights that his body isn't ready for.
    Your content helped me to get my mobility and strength back. I tried your beginner routine and it just worked.
    You are a lifesaver. I don't do this kind of thanking comments but you are probably the first fitness-oriented guy who I understand. How you describe things is just helping my body to get out of the chair and do the things I need to do to get stronger and have an impressive body that is not just for show.

    I’m getting old and have a desk job where I don’t do much for my body. I didn’t know where to begin to start working out, I don’t want to go to the gym because I’m a lazy ass who doesn’t want to drive and I’ve tried yoga, Pilates, Zumba and gave up because the workouts look to complicated on videos, this is exactly what I needed-no gym, little to no equipment, no fancy expensive workout clothes…Thank you so much. Subscribed!!

    This is so beautiful, simple, & natural. This is what I’ve been trying to find for so long. A very basic starting point to try to slowly get my chunky butt into physical work, without overdoing it & failing my self out of frustration, & I need more active workout than my job currently provides. This man is so wholesome & sweet. I hope I can stick to this. I want to start into yoga & meditation too, but I need to do one thing at a time.

      this is actually so true. workout is supposed to be chill and fun, or energetic and fun. so much pressure to have these intense workout regimes perfectly optimised for everything. nope. first and foremost it has to be fun, without any stress. then you can look into optimising, doing things better. doing everything gradually as you get used to everything.

    • @fongie8948
      @fongie8948 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TechSupportDave Exactly! Personally, I started doing fitness because I wanted to be healthy! I also genreally love
      physical activity i.e walking, skiing, climbing, cycling, etc. In other words, anything connected with moving. I was even thinking about getting into parkour lol. But I don't want to have a super duper athletic body or look like Schwarzenegger. And when I watched other videos about fitness, I only got this kind of vibe: "You NEED to work LIKE THAT! You NEED to struggle! You NEED to do X *insert exercise name here* a day! You NEED to GRIND, to GAIN!!!!" and so on. Jesus, it's such an unhealthy way of thinking lol. And sometimes the amount of muscles these "hardgainers" have is not even that natural. So yeah I really love this guy, I thank him for introducing me into calisthenics. The only guy I think I would really follow.

    • @TechSupportDave
      @TechSupportDave 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fongie8948 Ironically, I've kinda lost track of that lately. I've been going through some old bookmarked videos and I found this video, and I scrolled to find my comment I wrote here 1 year ago. It made me remember the mindset I once had thanks to Hampton. Not quite sure why I stopped watching Hampton. I clicked on the bookmarked video, and instantly felt relaxed hearing him talk. Even on the right side I'm getting a bunch of really stupid clickbaity video recommendations from FitnessFAQs and some other channels which just make me feel like I'm under pressure:
      "Top 10 Rules of Calisthenics (FOLLOW OR FAIL)",
      "The BEST WAY TO START WORKING OUT FOR BEGINNERS"
      And this is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I really don't like seeing. And then amongst those there's Hampton's:
      "How to Spread Good Vibes & Positive Energy",
      "You CAN do pushups, my friend!",
      "No pullup bar? Try this!"
      Hampton's videos just feel sincere and he's clearly just trying to help people as his primary objective.
      I think this is why he's one of the best fitness creators out there.
      He's helping me keep a good mindset and not lose sight of my dreams, just through his video being in my bookmarks!
      Nobody has ever influenced me like this before.

    I am so happy to have found this video and the routine. It was difficult to find videos where you could start off as a complete and utter beginner.
    The full push up I could do, and squats were decent as well, but I tried doing just a single incline bridge and realized just how far off I was from the mark you need to be at.
    Your videos providing full tutorials on even the simplest of bridges and the assurance that even if you fail the simplest, you can always make your body stronger doing the other exercises really got me working again.
    Been two weeks now, and as silly as this might sound, I am so glad to be able to do wall bridges now! And all thanks due to your respect for the beginner levels of training in all aspects, and your kindness and understanding in those that still have to start.

    Thank you brotha Hampton! I have CRPS (nerve damage) in my back that causes my left side to be in constant pain + arthritis. Clothes and movements hurt. I've started qigong and Wim Hof breathing techniques and I want to start calisthenics to give me more strength to hopefully ease my pain (and sit in meditation). Then to bands and weights one day. I am an active person so my body not working with me is very frustrating. I wanna move past my bodies limits...safely of course. I resonate with you and this comes at a perfect time. Thank you for helping me with this next step and helping so many others.

    Well done sir, you are amazing. keep it up brother. I was gonna say, this sounds an awful lot like the Convict conditioning book! Paul wade's got a great system and philosophy behind calisthenics! I love it! It's such a great, healthy and humble approach to real body strength, rather than ego/image driven gym workouts.

    I really feel lucky to find your approach. Caring about a healthy body, and not just selling a product. I highly appreciate it. Often, fit people encourage you to burn calories, get a narrower waist, but not really caring about their clients getting injuries. Thank you!

    Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it but there is a lot of progression that can happen with negative reps. If you can’t do pull-ups, either jump up to the bar and let yourself down or something like that.

    This video made me see my training in a different way. I've been practicing calisthenics for a while now, but never found someone as inspiring as you on youtube. Reminding me of some "mentors" I've had along the way you made me look back and see that it's all worth it, even with some lumps in the way.

    This channel is the easiest to follow, honestly. It addresses progression. If you go into usual lose weight build abs videos, they do exercises that beginners cannot do like push ups. Tho they recommend knee push ups, it still can be too much for beginners. And thus, failing the program. They don't consider how weak a person could be if they are beginners.

    Yours is the most helpful channel I have found on Calisthenics, I finally feel like I have an idea of how to get STARTED and keep going!
    Too many channels start after the beginning and it’s not helpful at all. I would do their “beginner” routine and then all my joints hurt and I stop for like weeks or longer 🤣
    But your method and your actual true BEGINNER progressions make the difference.
    The best part is that you make everyone feel OK with their current level, no matter what that is! 💕

Spent my life as mainly a long distance runner (not a great one) and recently getting into strength training. But I am really loving your content and approach, it's more accessible, easy to follow and focuses on form and full motion and function. Please do not stop doing what you're doing, this is gold in the fitness world (bonus that you are so friendly and down to earth, too many fitness people out there that are full of themselves)!
