So glad they found a good home..😢 My sister passed away last year and her children gave me her phals. Up to that point I had no intention of ever growing phals again, ever!, because I grow my orchids outdoors and my phals always, ALWAYS die.. fast forward 6 months, they're thriving on my patio..🤷‍♀️

I would love to see a follow up on the progress to these orchids. When my father died, I was able to take all of this orchids to my home. They were in terrible condition, however, with a bit of TLC, They all came back stronger than ever and flowered really well. My father died nearly 20 years ago now and to this day, my sister and I still have some of this orchids flowering.

This is something we should all consider, should we pass what will happen to the orchids. Make arrangements now to somebody that would appreciate them and will really take care of them. Whether friend or family member, you should talk to a selected person or persons and even teach them how to take care of this. I think is was a wonderful idea therefore keeping the plants growing and treating them where needed. Many blessings.

Thank you kindly , and indeed not everyone is able or wants to look after a large collection so we need to find someone who will enjoy them as much as we do 💯💕

14:00 never thought I would find a name for my plant -> Ledebouria socialis. Bought it in a flower shop as a mini, bc... just cute, never had seen it before and it was just... there. It was labelled as Scilla which did't resemble what I found in the internet, The modelled leaves are the same and I had no idea how big it can get. My mini is no mini anymore but a quite bushy plant. Repotted her again last year and she took over the new pot in no time. She accompanies my Phal Liodoro which is in flower every year.
I love the sight of these old orchids. They had already a live and now they are getting a fresh new restart... just wonderful.
I inherited an old cattleya from a woman who retired and went back to her home country. Its a NoID, but call her 'Alte Dame' (= Old Lady). Still alive and doing great. I hope the former owner too.
I don't worry what happens to my orchids yet. I wonder if I will live to see any flowers in my lifetime on some plants 😉
Btw, such great view on the green hills outside. Many regards!

I am glad you found the name . I will check if mine is the same one . The one wonderful thing of getting orchids from other people is when you do not know what they will turn out to be until the flowers open and the big reveal happens .
      It is exciting .
Hahaha yes some orchids can be a bit shy . Might just need to find the right spot for them lol .
      Thanks for sharing 🫂💕

That’s an impressive collection of den Nobiles. The orchid at 13.24 may be an Encyclia. I look forward to see how they progress.
