Ah, before Portrait of Ruin came out I was really hopeful that there would be a bonus mode with John/Eric from Bloodlines. This almost scratches that itch (I love those John Morris sprites and actions), but I honestly can't stand Judgment Eric lol. These sprites are good but I hate the design and concept for Eric in that game (he's randomly so much younger that he's otherwise unrecognizable).
@@echidknux6738 Unfortunately, Eric replaced Simon which took Maria's character slot, and Axe Armor's "partner" is Maria, so Fuuma would have Eric as his partner if he had the necessary relics enabled :/
I really like this "Hack" it's amazing 💎, the only thing I don't like is that John and Eric spend their time walking throughout the game, I would have liked the sprites to be used when they run

Okay, seriously though. Why weren't John and Eric playable in the actual release? Like, I get it, they chose Maria and Richter so that there would be a spellcaster. But if that was the case, why not just modify Eric into a spellcaster? Makes so much more sense, being that they are central to the plot of PoR. I failed to mention that this is an amazing hack, by the way.
@@JustGeneric75 Hmm..No, it doesn't seem to be the same sprite. The proportions and colour palette are different from the Megadrive/Genesis game. It also has new animations never seen in the sega game.

I am glad people are not sleeping on this game. Portrait of Ruin is one of the best Castlevanias. Top 5 for sure.

Who was the artist that made that John Morris sprite? I wouldn't mind paying them to make a sprite of my original character or OC.
Those sprites are, actually Official. They are from a game for the Sega Genesis, called "Castlevania: Bloodlines"
