Come to New Hampshire, you don't have to pay income nor sales tax. I have earned 5 weeks of paid time off and I use EVERY SINGLE HOUR. I get chronic headaches so I also use many unpaid days covered under the Family Medical Leave Act. The lines on the Red Solo Cups can be used for measuring alcohol. I don't remember what each division line denotes but I bet you can find a video that discusses it. If you want to talk ironic, many pharmacies used to sell cigarettes. If you live in New England, especially in Boston, Starbucks is hard to find but Dunkin' Donuts is on just about every corner. The most popular beverage from Dunks is iced coffee. Iced coffee is drunk every day, even in the Winter.
I hear about the bathroom issue in America in many videos from foreigners. Here’s the deal…the space under the door doesn’t show any part of someone’s private area. It just shows the lower legs. The main reason is safety. If someone were to have a serious medical issue and fall, you would never know it if the door were down to the tile. You wouldn’t know, and the victim could possibly die in there without anyone being the wiser. It really happened before, and there were law suits out the wazoo over it. That changed everything. I hear about the small spaces on each side of the door as well. People act like they are 3” wide! They’re minimal, and I’ve NEVER seen anyone peering thru those spaces. That would be creepy. Also, we don’t have water almost up to the toilet seat like some pictures suggest. It’s about 1/3 or so filled. To me, anything lower would seem gross. So, there’s the run down on our public restrooms. 😁🚽🧻 Nice reaction, Ryan, and keep up the good work! Hugs from Houston, TX ~ USA 🤗
We only tip at full-service restaurants and we only tip 15% we rarely tip 20%. You don't have to tip for fast food and you don't tip for take out unless you want to leave a couple bucks
The bathroom stalls are a hidden message from corporate companies to make the person uncomfortable so they don’t take their time and occupy the stall when others need to use the restroom “get in, do your thing, and get out.” It’s also used at work where the gaps and height are a bit higher than at a fine dining restaurant or a place where people are needed to feel relaxed. Also a hidden message from the corporate is the metal slabs on seating areas near buildings. The slabs are to prevent homeless from sleeping there and skate boarders from using the area as a skate park.
A bit of explanation. The largest chain of Pharmacies in the US is CVS. It wasn't ALWAYS a pharmacy. It actually started out as a chain of discount stores known as Consumer Value Stores [CVS]. Then one store opened a pharmacy counter, and the rest is history. It now has over 9,600 locations; and in 2020 was the 5th largest corporation in the US.
Some of America's biggest pharmacy chains are Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS. Simply put - they're supply stores that are smaller than a Walmart but bigger than a 7/11.
Most of those were right on. Sales tax is a pain. :) Hey if you like Baseball, check out the Savannah Bananas. They are like the Harlem Globetrotters of Baseball. I hope I didn't tell you that one already. LOL
The usual reason given for adding sales tax during purchase is that these taxes vary from state to state, and counties and cities within a state. This is true but there is another major reason. Some of these taxes can be deducted from the annual federal income tax. There are very specific rules that must be followed so it is not an easy process and it requires use of the longer, more complicated form. It also requires that all receipts be kept to prove the purchase and payment of the sales tax. However, for people who buy expensive items it can mean a substantial savings;
People talk as if air conditioning is for hot weather only. Central air conditioning is for cold or hot days because it either cools or heats the buildings/homes. I set the thermostat to one temperature and leave that setting for all year.
Sales tax varies from state to state county to county and city to city. For example, I live in sangamon County in the state of Illinois a hamburger at a McDonald’s could cost $2.38 but if I go to a county just north of here it could cost $2.48. Some states have no sales tax and some could have as high as 10%. Also some products have taxes themselves like alcohol, soft drinks and candy.
Prior to WW2 many cultures around the globe would mistake a smile for a grimace or growl equivalent. By the end of WW2, remote bushmen understood a smile was disarming and not threatening.
Europeans need to be reminded that the US in not alone in Not using European date format. In East Asia, the format is Year/Month/Day. To each, his own.
Note to Europeans : Sales Taxes are NOT exclusive to the US. Most Canadian Provinces also charge sales taxes. In my state, Sales Tax is 7%. There is a huge uproar anytime politicians try to increase it. Many politicians have lost elections for trying. European Politicians don't want their citizens to know how badly they're being screwed, so they hide taxes as VAT. Then they can raise taxes without most people even realizing it happened.
What?! Are you referring to men's urinals? I've never, in 75 yrs.of life, been in a women's restroom that didn't have doors and I've traveled in all 50 states.

Most cash registers at stores have a rack of gum, candy, and magazines at EACH register.
👍🙂❤️
In my state of Pennsylvania our sales tax is 6% and we are not taxed on food❤🇺🇸

Each city and county can charge different sales tax not just state

Yes the United States isn't weird, we just like to be unique because we're Americans.
Nothing wrong with being unique😎😎
Sales tax is not in everything. Lots of food is not included. And yes it is different everywhere.

I can’t imagine getting into the front seat with a strange cab driver in New York City. No way.
The high school i went to didn't have doors on the bathroom stalls so EVERYONE could see you
The date thing… do you say it’s the 24th of December today? Or do you say it’s December 25th. We write it like we say it. In that order.
Dating: if you say " April 4, 2024" not "the 4th of April ", guess what? 4/4/24....😅
Most of the time there is no bathroom door. 😂
FALSE 😂

America was not always a diverse country. Half of America still is not diverse as a matter of fact where I live in America it's 99.9% White
Your "white privilege". South Chicago calls you...go for it.
