      @brendaleslie4047 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I said this multiple times to my partner and he mentioned something that I didn't know, yet I dont know if its true. The media in Florida is uncensored and unlike other states, you can publish all crime records online. So technically we know a lot of weird things happen in Florida because we're informed so. if that makes sense.

      this is something I read online "it’s really easy to get details on crime stories in Florida. The laws are set up so almost everything is public record. So reporters have quick and easy access to arrest records in Florida. Which isn’t the case in a lot of other states. That’s the MAIN reason there’s so much Florida news."

      The Florida Man stories are so common because Florida has the loosest privacy laws in the country, allowing photos and stories of people doing weird things. Lots of the same things happen elsewhere in the nation, but other states don’t allow photos, or identifying information about the perpetrators as freely as Florida does.

      @@Matt-kr9bo I get what you're saying but if you have South, North, Midwest, and West, Texas would definitely be more Midwest in South. Texas is more culturally comparable to states like Missouri than Alabama. One clear example is in the food. Texans don't eat Southern food. They love casseroles and stuff which is very popular in the Midwest.

    Great video but let me say for the record, there is no one Southern Accent. People from every state in the South sound different based on race, ethnicity, education, and social status. People from the Southwest sound nothing like people from the Southeast. People from Georgia don't sound like people from South Carolina and people from Alabam don't sound like people from Virginia. The same is true of people from Texas not sounding like people from Arizona, New Mexico, or Louisiana.
    So when someone says Southern Accent the question to ask is which state and if it's on the cost what people. Because I kept hearing the word Cajun being used in this video but no one ever said Creole and you had two people representing the state of Lousiana. If you're talking about people from South Carolina it depends on whether or not they're from the cost. People from Charleston don't sound like people from Spartanburg or Greenville and they're in the same state.
    American accents regardless of the region of the country are far more nuanced than the stereotypes would lead one to believe.

    People still have the stereotype that the Deep South is racist and backwards, however, in today’s times it’s one of the most racially diverse areas with large minority concentrations compiling of Latinos, African-Americans, and even pockets of Asian communities that migrated there during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. I would say that areas in the Midwest are more “racist” because they aren’t constantly interacting with different cultures and people regularly which makes the South more accepting and accustomed to other races.

      @@20somthingdrifter11 not automatically, I don’t like it when people generalize and make broad statements like that. America is one of the most multicultural, diverse, and open nations in the world, I’m just saying that if one particular area had to be classified as the “most racist” it shouldn’t be the South anymore and the Midwest makes more sense. Where did the killing of George Floyd happen again? Oh yes, Minnesota, which is classified as the Midwest. Regions that are more homogenized are proven to be more xenophobic and racist than their more multiracial/cultural counterparts.
