Vanessa Velasquez & Phillip Chavez are undecided as to whether to get married or to finally separate. Vanessa says their relationship was great at the beginning and Phillip was a responsible, hard-working man who would contribute to the household and help out with her children. However, two years ago, Phillip stopped working and decided he wanted to stay at home and be a house-husband. Vanessa says she doesn’t want to be with a man who doesn’t work and who also has a severe drinking problem.

We the Judge asked him if he got drunk every day, he said "I wish"! She should have torn up the Marriage License immediately and adjourned. He's an alcoholic and a narcissist, and every thing is about him. For God's sake, get those kids away from him until he's been clean and sober for at least a year. Alcoholics can't" cut down" on the drinking, they have to STOP completely. Run girl, run! 😱

53 year old male viewer. His life and his "wife" is alcohol. She presents as a smart, level headed woman. I am no expert on women, but women seem to have a switch...I like to think of it as a light switch. Women will, in general put up with a ton of bs....but at some point they turn the light switch off. When it goes off there is no turning it back on. To me, her light switch has been turned off......marrying him will only bring her grief.

43 here with an off switch. My partner is an Alcoholic and I have a exit plan. After 11 years together I'm done and there's nothing he can do to turn the switch back on.
I noticed that when he took a jab at her by saying he would have bounced if it weren't for the kids, she merely smiled and said the door was open but when narrating how he acted like a douchebag at his daughter's performance, she choked up. She's a great mother I can tell.

I knows it’s hard but I wish people would quit making the “we have kids so that’s why I stay” excuse. At the end of the day, kids would rather see their parents happy a part as opposed to miserable and angry together
Kids will also rather see their parents together than divorced. Both my parents had their issues with each other but stayed together cuz of us. I can't stress how much we benefited from it
It's unfair to live the rest of your life miserable just to stay together. Staying together is not good when your parents have a toxic relationship. Kids rather see their parents happy then divorced. It doesn't benefit the kids at all if it is a unhappy home because they suffer from fights and hate.

She needs to stop expecting the fully sober guy to return. Alcoholic is who he is now. She can do so much better and he even admitted if it weren’t for the kids, he would’ve left a long time ago.

And no money for his alcohol. SHE IS TAKING of him and SUPPORTING HIM! She has THREE children to take care of ....... not 2 children and a husband that supports her and contributes at least 50-50 to the household. She needs to loose him with a quickness!!! For her own's sake and for her children's sake!

Don't ever stay with a man who doesn't want to be with you no matter how much you want to. A relationship works only if two people love and respect each other enough to work on themselves. A man who openly admits that he would have left you if it weren't for the kids is not that person. You deserve better than to invest your emotions in a man who doesn't value you at all.

I'm married to an alcoholic too. I know your pain. I'm to leave him. I left twice before but it's hard to leave someone you love, someone you know could be great if they got some help. I decided that this year it's about my happiness and focus on what I want in life.
@@nicolem8122 I'm not married to mine, but we have been together a whil. I didn't know how bad it was until we lived together. It's absolutely awful. He has his moments where he can go without drinking for a month or two but when he starts up its terrible. I definetly lost a great amount of love but definetly am choosing my happiness as well. @@Miszez I did it, I left him a week ago. His drinking forced me to leave. It was bad, I mean really bad. I couldn't take it anymore. I feel so sorry for him though. He's in so much pain and suffering but I can't help someone that doesn't want help. I don't deserve to be verbally assaulted by a miserable drunk. I'm much happier now though.

I'm a daughter of a dad who does have a drinking problem and yes we do have problems but my mother just leaves it almost like she's just too tried to deal with my dad when he's drunk I really feel for that woman she seems done with it all hope she's doing good now

Judge Toler is an icon, mentor, example and inspiration in my own life...she is like scripture to me. we need to spend MORE TIME learning and associating with people like her, who strive to make this reality one of moral productivity and personal success, which in turn makes this world a little more livable.
