In this special episode of The Dr. Tyna Show, I'm tackling the puzzling phenomenon of midlife weight gain-a challenge many of us women face. If you’ve noticed your midsection thickening and overall body changes as you hit middle age, you’re definitely not alone. I’ll break down a recent study on this topic, covering metabolic dysfunction, the role of estrogen, and the impact of physical activity. Join me as I explore the complexities of this stage of life and offer practical solutions, including the benefits of exercise and resistance training. Tune in to uncover the science and get actionable insights for managing your health during this transformative period and learn WHY I think microdosing GLP1 agonists can be such a potent tool in this struggle.

Love your work!!! You are changing the world!!!! ❤
Finally my weight is going in the right direction, albeit slowly. I am on this medication and very thankful for it. I gained 30 pounds over 4 years. I am 49 on biodentical oral progesterone and a little testosterone gel.
Had a full hysterectomy at 42, forced into full menopause and I feel/look like a different person. No motivation to work out, skin sagging, middle age hits hard!!! Can’t wait to dig in to this more
So glad to have found your channel Dr. Tyna ❤
Very helpful info 🙏
Your content is fabulous..
I’m 53, in the middle of menopause, 60lbs overweight and just took my 5th shot. I’m tired as hell and nauseous. I WAS active and lifted weights regularly and ate healthy. NOTHING was working, that’s why I tried this. Hopefully it will start working because right now I just want to sleep.
I feel your pain!😂 same here
Oh dear! Are you doing the microdosing and still getting nauseous?
@@geauxp I’m taking 20 units, the second smallest dose. I just upped it from 10 units that I took for the 1st month. I am pre diabetic, insulin resistant, fatty liver …. All the things
@@MistyBluemel did you change your diet? Eat enough protein and supplements? Vitamin B12 might help against being tired.
Are you generally nauseous or can you relate it so specific food or drinks? Many of us have problems digesting things like daiey products, nightshadow plants (potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and chilli) and legimes (lentils, peas, …) as well as food wih lots of sugar, starch or fat. It might help to try and find out what you better not eat.
I’m on my sixth dose and started HRT last week. I started with 15 units and decided to go up to 20 last week. Big my mistake. Just that little change made me really sick. Going back to 15 this week. Anyway, I think it makes all the difference in the world too eat high protein, and take supplements such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, and magnesium. I have not been able to stomach certain foods, but I’m still making sure to get the high protein in. Also, like Tyna says, strength training is key. Hang in there!
Sometimes it’s a progesterone deficiency. One needs more progesterone rather than estrogen to balance the hormones.
Very informative. I have just been diagnosed with hashimotos disease, which is where my thyroid is attacking my body, on top of full blown menopause. I have gained over 50 lbs in the last year. I was just prescribed some gop1 so I am hoping that will help get my body under control. Getting older sucks! That is all.. 😊
Bring on Dr. Stacy Sims- You two will be a Dynamic Duo!!!
She's not so much a fan of bHRT. And I don't think she'd agree w widespread use of glp1s. I have her book and totally agree w a lot of her ideas re:exercise type, protein intake and timing, etc. But she's a scientist and while brilliant, she seems pretty dogmatic about her specific recommendations. I also think they'd be a powerful duo but I like Dr Tyna's realistic, ooen-minded approach to health and willingness to use whatever approach will give suffering folks a "leg up" to fight this epidemic of broken metabolisms!
love love love YOU and your content ❤❤
Love your Chanel. Well someone that should have been diagnosed with ADHD when I was young/ Anorexic for a long period of time. I had finally got on top of the Anorexia, I am 63 years young have worked out weights walking and Reformer pilates. My diet is good. I am on bio identical hormone therapy. Just can't shift the middle fat around 15 pounds so I am on my second week of Tirz 1.mg after 3 days I feel the food noise but I am all good with that no other side effects so here is hoping I don't really want to go up with the GLP1 I have not got any other health issues. 3 lbs down.
Hi! I'm with you! Turning 56 this month, ADHD, Good diet, working out/walking, HRT, but we have about 10lbs of WEIGHT GAIN esp in the middle. Just started Retatrutide (new gen of GLP 1,) ADHD has improved significantly, food noise lower but not gone, and no shift in weight... I know it's only been 4 days but I thought I'd have some kind of a side effect or something, I dunno....
@@kareyannpearl260 what dosage are you on ??? I have just started my 3rd week 7 lb down 8 to go. Happy so far .
💯 get your ASS in gear!! Weight resistance more important that cardio !
I'm on a micro dose of a GLP1 and getting great results. Unfortunately this is coming to an end. Compounding of Glp1 is being banned from October I'm Australia due to "risks" 😢
The opposite I’m so fatigued from the glp1 I can hardly get out of bed 😢.. I’m adding mots-c to try to improve this
Mots c?
thank you - very interesting information. Unfortunately it sounds like those of us on estrogen blockers due to breast cancer are doomed to progress rapidly to old age symptoms :(
Sooo interesting!
What age is too late for hormone replacement therapy - is there a age where it may do more harm than good ?
Hi Dr Tyna ..... please help me .... I'm having a terrible menopause and I'm on Tamoxifen 56 and I'm pretty good shape but riddled with poor sleep, joint and tendon issues (frozen shoulder and torn tendons). I'm micro dosing myself with Ozempic .... this has helped with my physique my joint issues and frozen shoulders (yes both).... can I have bio identical hormones / HRT ? Is there a Dr in Australia you can recommend for me ?
Which tonic in your store would you recommend for sleep I have everything else dialed in. I do microdose GLP hormones are good. Everything’s good. I just have a hard time staying sleep. I’m 60 my weights good my blood works good. I just need a little something. Something for my sleep.
Can you tell me what is NAD
Oh I weight train and sprint and ruck
Been on trizepitide 2.5 6:58 for 2 months iWorkout I eat a carnivore/ keto diet zero weight loss and zero decrease in inflammation what am I doing wrong … just being on carnivore alone I drop substantial weight 🤷🏼♀️WTF
Post labs but maybe not here, r u taking methylfolate and b12 levels over range? For me a huge difference was stopping dairy. I do not even have butter on my steak. Hormones optimal?
We are crude🤦♀️
My doctor told me that taken estrogen at my age which is 60 that could cause a stroke
Can a man get testosterone pellets if he is bottomed out if he is on ozempic? Can he take Dim with it?
My doctor won’t recommend hrt due to family history of cancer. Smh
Find another doctor…. also read the book: The New Menopause. You’ll be so encouraged !
So informative! Thank you so much. 3 months on tirzepatide and I really want to know a lot about what’s going on inside my confused body right now.
What's going on can
you expand ?
Thank you for this valuable information. Almost fifty-four, getting “ass in gear” right now and you have been an incredible piece to my menopausal puzzle. 🧩 ❤Bless you for being the vessel we need at this time!🙌🙌🙌🙌🌅🌀💪🌻
