Hey rhyme just in case you still don't understand chain blocking, i think an easy way to understand is floo. for example, if eaglen is summoned while robina is banished both monsters trigger at the same time so you can choose what activates first and your opponent can't activeate anything until you activate both cards. so if you activate eaglen first(cl1) and chain it with robina(cl2), eaglen can't be ashed because ash only stops the thing that activated last in the chain (but it can still be impermed or veilered). or anther example that you might be familiar with is dark magician. if you summon dm with eternal soul and you have both piercing the darkness and circle on the field, they both trigger at the same time so if you activate piercing first and chain it with circle it can't be ashed. i hope this helps.

Yeah, most people dont like pendulums, even though they honestly arent that confusing, and they're the best in my opinion, I play odd eyes, DDD, Endymion, and abyss actor and they're all good, and so fun to play, and odd eyes and DDD utilize all the summoning styles pretty well, and that's why I love pendulums

I'm stoned and was waiting like 20 minutes for my opponent to finish activating Dark Magician stuff during my turn that I forgot it was my turn and sat there like another two minutes waiting for them to end their turn 🤦♂
So the decks your playing are in the Zexal era. The two decks you played last video were 5ds decks that had 0 synchro monsters in em. The starter decks you skipped are the ones that had Synchros in it. The reason is that starter decks were built to teach people how to play the game, so they included extra deck monsters so new players could learn the mechanic. Structures are different where the deck works right out the gate compared to a starter that is just there to teach people. Eventually structure decks get extra deck monsters and you are actually very close to pendulums. When you hit the first E Hero structure deck you are in the ARC-V era. Which will probably go bad because when those pendulum decks released there wasn't a limit on how many you could summon from extra deck based on link summoning. You won't get to experience pendulum at full power which completely broke yugioh and resulted in the extra monster zone being created to limit extra deck monsters because master duel doesn't support old master rules
