bless you for posting. i never could get here due to being disabled. but now my son is at tattershall lakes park for holiday. so tomorrow he said i could come down to his chalet which is next to the museaum and he will help take a me around it. I cant wait. My Grandad was in the RAF for WW2, his job was to repair planes that managed to get bak some he had to put back in the air like asap mid battle patching up bullet holes/blood/anti aircrft fire etc. Even using card board and wood at times on certain repairs! thanks for the footage.

An excellent tour video ! I would think it was very cold in there at this time of year, I did not know that Last of the Many was with the BoB flight. Chris B.

Thank's Chris. I'm not that 'hardy', so I did the filming at the end of September!😊

@@HighFlight Ha Ha! Nothing as cold as the inside of a hanger in Winter, (except maybe my barn), Chris B.

I joined the BBMF, at RAF Coltishall the same year as PZ865, we had the original engine side panels in racing Blue with "Last of the many" in yellow lettering, from its time as a air racer, We also had the Merlin engine racing exhaust pots, very different to what it flys with now

Brings back memories of being in there at 2am working on the Lanc, just me & my Corporal. Eerie to say the least but a great experience.

PA474 arrived on the BBMF in Nov 1973 at Coltishall, then there were only eleven of us ground crew only three of us riggers. We had to put her on Jacks, remove the undercarriage and the selector Take the ailerons off to send off for recovering, refitting them months later to get her ready for the next season. Many a time i started work one day and finished early the next.
