I went to a Meet The Marines day with my college today. Amazing people, amazing skill, amazing day.

I wish that the RM could have all the specialisations in individual groups on the website. The RN website obviously has their roles and it gives information about each role however the RM just get a list and you have to try and guess what they do. Or you come to youtube if you can't get to the AFCO.

Mountain leaders are more prone to capture than any other unit in British forces, including sas. It is the hardest course in the entire British forces. Fair play to them!

Sennybridge..nearly got shot when a 21 SAS trooper had an N. D. with his gpmg...rounds stitching the ground 2 meters in front of us.

I love Sennybridge when I was there it was old school bit like no1 parachute training Wing at Brize some riggly tin sheds n bunks Warcop is cool too I went pot holing there scarier than doing battalion jump for me anyway I had this old marine going school kids do this then he got us lost in the black mountains if anyone has been up penyfan on a sunny day put a message here as ur probably a liar

Sometimes it can be down to personal preference, or they can't wear a normal helmet because it will crush their ears (sounds stupid I know, but true) when wearing headphones.

What royal marine have you heard that says us marine training is way harder? It's always the us marines saying our training is 10x harder
Standard RM training is harder and longer then standard USMC training I believe, 32 weeks RM vs 12 weeks USMC (not including extra schools USMC go to though) but not to sure about recon marines and so on, think they are more on the level of RM's.
