- In this video I show you what it took to install a new tub spout. I ran into a small problem that I address in the video, and let you know what to do if you run into the same problem I did.

Mine won’t screw off
You put the plumbers tape backwards. Always clockwise. The way you put it, it will loosen as you tighten the spout

Thank you for the video. How do you determine the model of Delta o-ring model for the D site lookup?
I honestly can't remember, I went to delta's website a lot.
But how do you add the adapter if there isn't already one there?
That may require getting behind the wall and putting a new valve, especially if you are replacing it with a different brand. That is a lot more difficult.
Where did you get the new white piece that goes Inside the fuacet ? I have the exact fuacet and need this piece
It came with the faucet that I bought.
Did you have to buy from a different website than amazon? I have the old Delta adapter on and dont have the equipment or time to change the adapter at the moment. I had a Delta Carlisle tub spout thats many years old, bought a new one that came w the new adapter and the new spout didn’t fit on the old adapter. I assumed that all the Delta spouts now needed the new adapter until I found this video.
No I bought this one right on Amazon. In this video I used the old adapter, there was no way to take it out without ripping the wall out - but I did some research and wrote Delta and found that the old one would work with this faucet. There are a few different adaptors so I would just write Delta to make sure, go to their website they are super helpful www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts They've got a help line and contact form you can use to reach out to them.
