      stealing or how you guys call it 'copyright infringment' is cool? are you mental? that's so childish and cringe. you aren't even honoring the work behind both the product and the crack cause guess what the company only distributs it, humans code and invest time.

      @@tsnos2 I used to be a java dev you know, I can appreciate all the hard work it takes to make something, but if a company wants to make it almost impossible to use their service, I'll have to find other ways. Btw: I mainly only pirate games I already owned, and that are no longer playable.

      @@tsnos2 if you pay for something like a streaming service you aren't honoring shit, the way you honor work is by going to the official site and buying directly from that and buying the physical version. Paying for a streaming service is just paying for a wall to get taken down, especially because the streaming service may just fuck over the animators in the background. Also, please refrain from saying "that's so childish" if you're going to add "are you mental?" and especially "cringe" to your comment.

      @@varietychan he argued that it's cool, cmon. ‘may’ - when a streaming provider buys a licence to deliver it, the studio makes money, which in return also ensures the workers keep their jobs or get paid more. I don't know where you get your films from, but most of them are either WEB or BLURAY. If you say that BLURAY supports people then great, but surely you don't just watch WEB warez. And just cause one party >maybe/sometimes< doesn't pay the workers properly, you have the right not to pay them at all?

    Since I was a kid I've always been a pirate. The first movies I watched as a child it was always pirated by my parents or uncle. I always searched for games for free and when I discovered torrents there was no stopping me. I never had any gripes with it at all morally or anything as I was a stupid kid who didn't think about that stuff I ust wanted free games. As I grew up and realised indie developers were our starving artists I wouldn't pirate indie games much because even if I'm not stealing from them I'd prefer enjoy their art while supporting them. Growing up poor just never made me worry about the fat pockets of big publishers

    I agree. Piracy is not illegal at all either. The reason people pirate these movies and other things is not only because of not owning the game, but also some countries ban certain products. For example, video games. Some countries ban video games and there are people all over the world who want to play that game, but their country banned it. So obviously, piracy is the only way they can get it. And second of all, nowadays almost every games have launchers and other stuff. That means we don't own the game. So, I agree. If buying is not owning, then piracy is not stealing.

    This is not a good take. You are trying to obfuscate piracy as not being stealing, which is morally wrong, by switching from everyday language to legal terminology that has very specific definitions for every type of property violation. This specificity does not mean that because piracy isn't called theft in legal terminology that it isn’t a property violation, i.e., stealing, in everyday language and morally wrong. Perhaps you don’t understand that when buying something digitally (a game, a service, etc.), there is actually an exchange of property, it is a transaction. According to what you indicated at 11:58 of your video, the payment is a nice thank you.

    I pirated several EA titles (self explanatory why) Hearts of Iron DLCs and Red Dead Redemption 2.
    Red Dead 2? Oh i own it legit. Except a hijacker came along and linked Social club to a different steam account. Cant play something i paid for anymore.
    Hearts of Iron DLCs? You cant expect me to buy 15 DLCs for content that should be in the fucking basegame.
    Hundreds of Mp3? I aint listening to Spotify. The Ad frequency and duration is higher than it is on the radio where ads play for 3 minutes every 30 minutes. Why should i listen to something that just allows me to control whats being played and have ads every 5-10 minutes.
    Movies? Screw "XYZ +" "XYZ Premium" for monthly fees. Theres so much that i dont want 10 subscriptions just to get everything if i can find all i want to watch in one place?
    Why should i pay EA for doing a bad job? Why should i endorse hordes of Subscription services? Why should i pay for something if i NEVER EVER REALLY OWN IT? Oh? Servers died? Guess the game you paid 60 for wont be playable anymore. A song was blocked in your country (From copyright claims i received since 2021 i can tell that all labels dont like Russia) yeah guess what the answer to that is.
    The topic the video talks about is ABOVE paying for product. Its the only way you dont get ripped off. All it costs is to briefly expose your IP (or not if you use VPN) to the random seeders for the duration of your download.

    the statement "I use piracy as a demo/trial" only works when demos/trials don't exist. a good portion of the time it is just an excuse, because even of those that pirate to "test" a smaller set whether they "enjoyed" the title or not will actually "get a license" or "buy" it, and even then of those people that do Pirate and then tell people about it, the conversation usually continues with "where did you get it" so does this theoretical person who pirated the thing lie and say they got it from a store front, or do they tell them they pirated it, and therefore incentivizing person B to pirate it as well (so that "marketing" didn't really result in a sale did it). Then a person is less likely to buy pay for something like a movie after watching it unless they found it exceptional (and even then it would probably still be a subset), which means "average" or "acceptable" a likely to not get anything.

    • @gardian06_85
      @gardian06_85 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      then refunds do exist for things like games on most platforms, but I will contend that it is a smaller portion of people that even if they don't "enjoy" something will request a refund, but that is human tendency not an endorsement, or promotion of piracy: they might not realize refunds are available (as sometimes it is "hidden"), they might consider it to be too much of a hassle ("its only 15 dollars so whatever"), or it might be denied (like supposedly Valve has a limit on how many refunds they will grant, but the number is not known and might depend of frequency, and prices)
